Can't save in Adobe RGB, Elements 10

I want to save a picture from Elements 10 to an Adobe RGB color space .jpg file. I have set the color management optimiztion to Adobe RGB but it still saves as sRGB. In the Save As window it says it is saving as ICC Adobe RGB but it saves it sRGB anyway! Also, there's no way to know this unless you run another program that detects the color space, such as QImage. Is this a bug or am I missing something? I want to save in Adobe RGB.

I'll try to answer R_Kelly's questions. Not sure if it matters at this
point but...
Do I use File Save, or File Save As? I use both. I usually use File Save
As when saving jpg.
Are there layers in the file before saving? No. I always Flatten Image
before saving jpg.
What version of QImage am I using? I'm using an old version, v2005.101. I
see that the latest version is, v2010.209 I believe. This issue may have
been corrected in subsequent versions beyond v2005.101. I'm not going to
be able to determine this myself as I have the old version I got from a
friend just to see if the files are sRGB or AdobeRGB. I don't have a
printer hooked up myself. My friend has the printer; an Epson 9800 44"
printer.
I see the thread from the PS / QImage posts. Interesting. Yes, seems like
there are similar issues there.
Let me see if I understand all this so I can take the appropriate measures.
It appears that, due to the color space data being written in 2 places in
jpg, QImage is the culprit in that it doesn't read the place where the
Adobe color space information is written. (Adobe may be arrogant but...).
I wonder why Qimage recognizes the Adobe color space information in TIFF
files and not in JPEGs. Assuming Qimage does recognize the Adobe color
space information in TIFF files does that mean I need to save in TIFF and send
TIFF files to QImage? If this is true then one should save using TIFF
format and not JPEG using the v2005 version of QImage, which is what my
friend prints my images with. The disadvantage in doing this is that the
TIFF files are much larger to store that JPEGs. But, given the situation I
need to save in TIFF. Is that correct?

Which operating system are you running on?
Try starting the organizer while holding down the shift key. Hopefully, it should load the Catalog Manager.
Select your current catalog and click on the Repair button. Once it has finished, click on the Open button to see if the catalog opens.

This sounds to me like a client-side problem whith adobe reader plugin in your browser. What is your reader version?

I initially tried the free trial of Photoshop Elements 13, but it wouldn't install. When I received an email suggesting I purchase the product on sale for USD 70. (ending January 3) I purchased it, and have now paid for it and received a serial number. On January 3, when I tried to install it, I was told downloading, extraction and installation were complete, but then it quit. I tried again, but only got as far as 'download complete.' I clicked on 'open bundle,' then got message beginning: "The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements is missing..." I repeated the process and got the same message.
On January 5 I paid a computer professional to install it. He got it working and I actually worked on a couple of images, but it quit after about fifteen minutes, and I am getting the above message again.

Can I give my Adobe PS Elements to my dtr as I have upgraded to vers.8?

Hi I am wondering if I can give my daughter my Photoshop Elements vers. 7 as I now have version 8 and realize that the vers. 7 is tied to my email address and my password when I used it. Does that mean then that she cannot load it to her computerwhich has her email address which is different than mine?
If she can, what process will undo my email address and password so that she can enter her own details to use the program and as well will she be able to register it?
I really would appreciate a reply. BTW, my newer version 8 is on a new computer with a different email address and password.

You do know the mac version of PSE has no Organizer?
You can use file>Write Tags and Properties to File(s) on your files in the organizer before sending them to your mac to write the tags into the file's metadata, which can be read by Bridge, iphoto, aperture, etc. on the mac. (It doesn't work for raw files and it doesn't always work, so do a couple of test files first.) You'll need to make tags for categories and albums, too, in order to be able to sort by those criteria again.

You can sometimes find downloads online of the original Adobe trial for PSE9, hosted on independent servers. Try a Google search for Photoshop Elements 9 Download.
If you can find a link that works you can install the program and then use the serial number on the back of your DVD box to validate.
After downloading and extracting files from a zip folder make sure you run a virus scan before installing.
