Can't save PDFs

While trying to save a couple of PDF files i get this error message.
The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document(110).
This message appears with only 2 files, but other files can be saved normally, any suggestions?!

What OS do you use?
What browser/version do you use?
Is your browser set to use Adobe Reader to open a PDF in the browser?

Does it happen to all the PDFs, or is it specific PDF file? Would you please share the link to the file you have problem with?

  • I CAN'T SAVE PDF DOCUMENTS

Hi, After installing Adobe Reader 10.1.10 can't to do several actions. I saw that since version 9. I can't save PDF  documents provided by internet companies. The options that appears below, like  to save, print, + or -, are flashing all the time and can't do anything. If I click right button in the name of the document, the option save destiny like...is deshabilited too. What can I do? pls urgent. My operative system is Windows 7.

Best to keep the replies in the other post, but I wanted to comment on something you said "I was told that Adobe X is a 32 bit program and that could be why it's running slow." Yes, it's a 32 bit program. No, it's complete nonsense to say that 32 bit programs run slow. There seems to be a general belief that 64 bit is better because, well, because, um, because it's a bigger number so it must be, right? Sorry, I'm not mocking you, but there is such nonsense about this, that I think software makers are having to put a lot of effort into making 64 bit software for no good reason at all.

  • HT5925 Can I save pdf files on iCloud?

Can I save pdf files on iCloud?

    I installed a PDF reader.
It allows attaching pdf files to my iPod and synching with iTunes.
But I don't use iCloud, still. I do all backups local to iTunes library.
However, it should work no matter where or what IF you have files attached to an app that allows files.
When I make changes to files attached to apps, they change and show under iTunes - tried renaming a file on the computer and changed on iPod.

  • Can ipod save PDF files? Does any application allow me to write notes onto the PDF file? Thanks

Can Ipod save PDF fiels? does any apple application can help me to write my handnotes onto PDF files

If what you mean is that you want to annotate already existing PDFs the answer is yes. Goodreader will let you do this. You can highlight stuff. You can type stuff. You can also use your finger or a stylus to hand write stuff onto existing PDFs. It then saves as a copy, so that your original is still intact.
It's not free, but I find it worth what I spent.

Hit the link for the PDF-you will be given option to open in safari or iBooks(or any other program able o open PDFs).
That's not what she asked about.  She asked about saving PDFs, not just opening them and reading them.  While Safari lets you open PDF documents, it does not let you save them.  In order to save them, you'll need to use a web browser that permits downloading.  I use Atomic Web Browser and can confirm that it does permit downloading and saving of PDF documents.

When you open a pdf in iBooks, it's automatially saved there.

  • I paid for adobe to convert a PDF to word -- now I can't save PDFs to my computer -- and I'm saving to the cloud -- HELP

I'm so depressed -- what happened to the old days when you could actually get a person in support and not have to join a forum -?
I purchased adobe acrobat to convert a PDF to a word document - that's all I wanted --
Now every damn PDF I receive or try to open can only be saved in the adobe cloud -- which I have no interest in -- and not on my computer --
How can I resolve this situation --
I can't seem to find "settings" or "support" --
Yes, I'm over 50 -- and I struggle with this maddening technology -- nothing is simple or straightforward --
I scanned a document, emailed it to myself and would like to name it and save it to my computer -- used to be a 3 minute process -- now its 30 minutes (of valuable, but wasted time later) -- and here I am -- seeking help from no one in particular!  The anonymous "forum" --

No -- I installed adobe acrobat -- and now, whether I'm signed in or not -- the little disc/save icon is whited out and it can no longer be selected -- when I open a PDF I can only save it to the cloud
I am a physician, and a lot of what I look at is protected health information --- I can't be saving it in the cloud!!!  I have to find a way to disable this feature -- and restore my ability to save to my hard drive ONLY --
Thanks -- but if you can tell me those things, I'll be grateful
tried to attach screen shot to show you, but it was too big .......

  • Can't save pdf from a web site - HELP!

I can't seem to save pdf files from a brokerage account.  I have Reader 9, and one one PC, there is no "save icon" on the tool bar, and no "wording tool bar" -ie, no headong of:  File - Edit - View, etc.  On the other , there is no edit portion of the tool bar.
On the one PC that displays the picture of the floppy disc - the "save icon"-  when I click on it, nothing happens.  I think i have a problem with the security settings, but can't figure it out.  the financial advisor company can save it just fine, so i think the problem is in my PCs.
There is a security section that says the contents of the pdf can be copied, butdoesn't work  not in the file copy mode.  (These are not "fill out the form" pdfs, just regular files posted to a web site to allow viewing, downloading, printing, etc.  i could print, but want to save electronically instead.
    Any ideas?

I have also had this problem with some different web sites - you mention that possibly  it is a security issue so I added the web site I was having this problem with to my "Trusted Sites" list and re-tried saving the PDF and it worked!  Don't know if this will solve your problem, but it did work for me (still don't understand why some sites work and others require an entry in the "Trusted Sites" list.   I'm running Windows 7 (32 bit) and my Adobe version is 9.4.2 and I'm using Internet Explorer 8.  Hope this solution works for you.

  • Can't save PDFs from Safari or Firefox after latest (10.1.3) update

I just installed the latest update, and now when I open a PDF in Safari, I can't save it to my computer. I get a message saying "The document XXX.pdf could not be exported as XXX." When I try to do it from Firefox, the PDF won't even open. I tried deleting the plugins and reinstalling Reader and that didn't help. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi mccradks1,
Regarding firefox, update it to version 10.0 or later and use it in 32-bit mode only.
To save pdf's in safari, please try using the save button in toolbar and see if it works.
Toolbar is present in two different forms:
    1.
    2. This toolbar appears when you hover the mouse at bottom of pdf screen.
    Thanks,
    Nikhil

  • PC users can't save PDF form data from form created on Mac

I'm trying to create a PDF form for a client that will be accessing the form on a PC. However, when the client opens the form, a message appears saying that any data filled in the form cannot be saved and the document must be printed. If the client tries to "Save As" a message appears saying the form will be saved without the data. This defeats the whole purpose of using PDF forms.
What can I do to allow my client to save data in the form? When I check the permissions on my end, there is no security and no restrictions.
    Developer environment:
    Acrobat 9 Pro
    OSX Snow Leopard
    Client environment:
    Windows 7
    Acrobat Pro X

Thanks for the quick response, Karl.
The client downloaded the trial version of Pro X, to verify that the form works before buying. Would the trial version impose restrictions?
The client does not want to store data on a server. He wants the form to function as a template that he can save-as to customize. The completed forms will be shown on the computer as a part of a presentation, sometimes without Internet access.
I tried using the Advanced > Extend Form Features options to enable to ability to save form data, but when I tested the PDF on my PC (Vista, latest version of Reader) I got an error message along the lines of "this document has been modified from previous version, please get a copy of the original" and all form fields are gone.
I'm currently downloading the trial of Pro X so I can test the PDF.
    I am also using a Javascript to allow the client to place photos in the document. This is achieved using a button with a Javascript attached to it: event.target.buttonImportIcon();
This works correctly in my environment, but could it be screwing up the file as it's opened on a PC?

  • WIN 7/32-bit, Acrobat Standard 9, can't save pdf in "libraries" folders

I am running Windows 7/32-bit with Acrobat Standard 9.3.2, the operating system is fully patched and updated.
For some odd reason, when I try to convert an office document (working in Office 2003) via the "convert to PDF" button in the "acrobat PDF" toolbar I can't save the document in my "libraries" folder.  This folder of course contains "my documents" and is where I prefer to save most of my PDF files.  I click on "libraries" to select the place to save the PDF but all that comes up is "no items match your search."
Alternatively, if I try to print the office document to the Adobe PDF printer I get to the menu where it asks where I want to save the PDF file and again, I cannot access the libraries folder.  Other locations work fine, such as the desktop, network folders, accessing the C drive and doing down the tree to "my documents', but not the actual libraries folder.  Acrobat almost seems to think it is blank.
I'd appreciate any ideas, as I have several users under me in the same position.

    Hi Guys,
I have the solution to your problems and I will go ahead an explain it in detail so that no questions will be raised.
I have struggled to get WINDOWS 7 (32BIT) to run on the Touchsmart 300 PC now for three days (and nights) but I know how you can do it.
The problem lies within the VGA Adapter (Graphics Card) this little buddy has incompatible drivers with the inbuilt functions of the Touchsmart PC in its generic (Windows Preloaded) form. Therefore what you can do is the this.
Step 1: Insert Windows 7 (32Bit) disk and start the setup process and follow it until it hits the problem. (Millisecond of Bluescreen)
Step 2: Once the PC starts booting repeatedly press F8 (I mean it just keep on pressing that button until you can select "Safe Mode")
Step3: Once Windows Setup screen is back it will tell you an error! Which is good. INSTEAD of pressing "OK" (to restart) press SHIFT + F10 (opens the command prompt)
Step4: You should automatically be in \Windows\System32 now enter the following command: CompMgmtLauncher (This is the Device Manager).
(If the default directory is not System32 the navigate to it by entering "cd windows" and "cd system 32" (cd = change directory)
Step5: In the Device Manager (do not worry it will take some time to load) select navigate to "Display Adapters" - "ATI Radeon ..." RIGHT-CLICK on it and choose disable. (To be sure Windows will not have any other troubles you should do the same for all highlighted devices. the once with the yellow triangle)
Step6: Once this is done restart your system and let the install run into the normal mode and finish the install.
Step7: Once Windows starts for the first time. Use the provided ATI Radeon Driver from HP (NOT the original one) from the support download website to install the correct driver.
    Step8: Resart and enjoy!
Hope this helps and let me say to AMD/ATI yopu guys really suck at your one product drivers!
    Cheers and Out.

  • Acrobat Standard 8 - can't save pdf forms

I made a .pdf from LiveCycle and the client has Acrobat Standard 8 and can't save the .pdf form?
Supposedly they have other .pdf forms that they can save?
Is that possible? Would there be something different from my LiveCycle created .pdf that would stop
them from being able to save it?

Ok, I tried to go Under the Advanced menu, choose "Extend Features in Adobe Reader".
I copied images of the errors that I receive.  After I close out of the file, the fil e seems to be saved,
but I need to get rid of those error messages.

  • Can i save pdf files onto playbook?

is it possible to save pdf files onto the playbook? i tried downloading one from a website and it showed up in the active downloads from where i then opened it, but it didnt permanently save. i thought maybe the adobe reader could store it but it didnt.
also, is it possible to transfer and save pdf files from a pc onto playbook?
this was one of the major things i was hoping the playbook could do..may determine whether it's worth keeping

It's not through the Blackberry Desktop Software that I am transferring PDFs, Word, Excel files onto the Playbook; only media synching is supported at this time by that means. I did it on my PC through Windows Explorer, ie. the normal box you open on your computer when you click on "documents" and see the contents of your computer folders. There, in the left panel if you go down you see "computer", and click on it to display sub-folders, it should show the "Playbook" if you have a good USB connection. If you click on that PlayBook icon you will then see folders of the Playbook, including documents. That's where I pasted the documents, and they were then available to read and edit on the Playbook through Word to Go, Adobe Reader, etc.
The problem then (which other strings discuss) is that while you can paste in a set of documents organized in folders with sub-folders, the Playbook only sees the documents as being in a single folder. They apparently will still retain their organization though I haven't checked that.
There is no way to synchronize in the way that DataViz Documents to Go does on the smartphones, and to me that is a big omission that RIM needs to take care of soon, or more specifically DataViz who I believe RIM owns now. The technology has been there for around 10 years. On my Palm I used to synchronize documents from my PC onto my Palm, work on various documents there, then when I synched again all the changes would automatically update on the documents on my PC. The only way to do this now is manually copy back from the Playbook to the PC, which is only OK if you are just working on one document.
