Can't save presets in Windows 7 for CS4??

Anyone else have this problem??   To start, I've had nothing but problems between CS4 & i7, it's been VERY frustrating.   All that aside,  when I was using Total Training, and attempting to save a Text Motion presets following the instructions, Windows 7 gives me an error message saying "I do not have administrative rights to save to this folder.  Would I like to save to My Documents?"
I googled it and other people had this saving issue (not to Adobe Presets per se, but certain folders in general), none of the other posters fixes seemed to work.  I was hoping someone with Adobe had this issue & a way to fix aside from simply saying "Log in as administrator" I am, and it still doesn't allow to save.

Most likely you are falling victim to W7's specific folder types (image folder, media folder etc.) that prevents this from working. Check out the folder properties and then set it's view options to be a conventional file folder. And of course the usual like setting permissions and UAC... Some guidancxe is here.

I recently start using Firefox panorama. If I create a tab group that contains, for example, my favorite stack exchange websites, can I save ("bookmark") this tab group for easy access if I start a new session?

You can bookmark all those tabs and place them in a folder.
    * "Bookmark This Page" and "Bookmark All Tabs" no longer show in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    * "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

  • Can I save my private window web history in a file on my computer?

    Hello,
I was wondering if there was anyway I could save my private window web history to a file on my computer. Multiple people use this computer so I like to browse in private mode, however, there are some sites I'd like to be able to save as well.
    Thanks for you time

You can bookmark pages that you are interested in and want to keep.
You can save a copy of the current session data.
You can open the Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
Paste the JavaScript code in the command line and press the Enter key to run the code.
*Toggle the devtools.chrome.enabled pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to true to enable the command line

  • How do I export HDR photos made on Photoshop CS5 onto a flashdrive so I can use them on a window machine for commercial purposes.  Adobe support claims it is a apple problem not theirs.  PS the other window machine doesn't have Photoshop cs 5 installed?

Hi, How do I export HDR photos made on a macpro with photoshop cs5 onto a flashdrive so they can be imported correctly into a windows machine that doesn't have photoshop installed on it?  Already exported to a HP flashdrive but they do not even show up on a windows machine. Need that capabillity since this is for commercial printing.  My wife's mac laptop only shows 3/4 of the picture the rest is grayed out.  Adobe support claims it is a Apple problem.  Love the finger pointing and hold me blameless atitude on their part.  Told them creating a picture should be like gas that can be used in anybody's car, just not their Adobe equipped ferrari.  Do I need to convert the file struture so it can be read by the window machine? How would I do that ?  Any comments appreciated. Doug

I certainly wouldn't expect to read native PS CS5 files with all features intact and supported on a machine that doesn't have CS5 installed. Try saving the files as flattened (no layers) TIFFs before moving them to the flash drive and trying to open them on the Windoze box.

  • ITunes can't save changes in Windows 7 64-bit

I've got the latest version of iTunes (9.1.11.1) running on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit edition. Since I installed it and imported all my music and old database files (to preserve my playlists) I keep getting an error message that iTunes can't save the changes to iTunes because it doesn't have the rights to write to the "C" drive. Is there some permission I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

Make sure your windows permissions are correct.
Go into Windows Explorer. Find this folder
    C:\users\ username \My Music\iTunes
Right-click > Properties, and go to the Security tab. Make sure your userID has _full control_ and ownership over that entire itunes folder, and all its /child/subfolders.
You'll have to restart itunes so it will read the new permission settings.
This link has some screenshots of what I'm talking about.

  • Can I SAVE one color to use for the backgrounds of many separate paragraphs?

I have changed the background color of paragraphs in different Chapters for the purpose of making the content within that paragraph stand out.
It’s easy to pick a random color in the Inspector. Open the “Text” tab, click the “More” button, Background Fills, check “Paragraph” and select a color from the available methods.
How can I SAVE one particular color to use for as many separate paragraph backgrounds that I want to make the same color?
I’m using iBooks Author ver. 1.1
As I work on the formatting, I’d like quick & easy access to those one or two special colors that I like.
Using the color wheel I can make a rough guess for each different paragraph, but its not exact.
None of the crayons or the colors in the Pallettes is the color I’m after.
Slider are a pain to try to exactly set each time.
    Thanks for any help.

I don't know whether there's a better way (or whether this will work as expected), but I would try setting a boolean flag on keyPressed and reset the flag on keyReleased, for each key of interest. To compute the x / y movements, I would check the state of all flags.
dbI was thinking about your answer a few nights ago. And I was like, wait... it works! I thought, at first (as I replied before) that it wouldn't work, but I refract what I said. Its actually a very simple solution. And I apologize for questioning your solution previously. Thanks so much!
P.S. I tested it out. Works like a charm.
-Create booleans to handle each key
    -Set to true on press
    -Set to false on release
-Check and update in separate thread accordingly

  • Can I save all open windows, and reload them later?

    Hi,
I work on different projects using different applications.
Say I am working on recording, and editing an audio. I have Quicktime open, finder(showing files) and GarageBand. Is there anyway I can save the current open windows, so at a later date I can just resume where I left off, rather then having to reopen the finder window, and the applications. It's almost liek I want a snapshot of what's open.
Is there a 3rd party program that does this?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the answer, but I would really like to close the apps. I may not return to the project for weeks. That's why I would love if a program could save the current open apps, so when I return to my project. I run this program and boom all of my Finders, and applications are restored the way I left them. It saves me time.

  • Can you change flash player window size for a published Captivate course?

I am working on publishing a course with a FMR and, during testing, a lot of scrolling was required so I wanted to resize the window.  Is this possible and, if so, how do I do it? Similar to Flash where you can publish to dimension %???

you can adjust the movie size in the html, with varying levels of success based on how much you scale.
edit the swf associated .htm file with a text editor and look for this line:  var so = new SWFObject("project_name.swf", "Captivate", "641", "516", "10", "#CCCCCC");  In this case the 641 and 516 are the pixel dimensions.  you can also change it to a %
I've never done it with FMR so I won't attest to how well it'll work.

  • How can I change the CS5 Windows version for a Mac version?

I want to change from Windows to Mac, but I can't afford to buy new products.  Is this the only way or is there some kind of transfer?

    SKINNYANDRICH wrote:
Once I upgrade, how complicated is the transfer process and is there a cost involved?
You don't need to do the transfer process since your CS5.5 is not eligible for transfer.
You would have to pay the upgrade cost to upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_s l_creativesuite6.html
If you choose that route, just buy the CS6 for Mac (upgrade version). No more to do.
Install CS6 on your Mac (no need to install CS5.5 first), enter your CS6 (Mac) upgrade serial number then enter your CS5.5 (Win) serial number when prompted.
And I'm embarrassed to say that my knowledge of the cloud is limited.  Why do you advise to join in relationship to the discussion?
I'm not necessarily advising you to join. That's your decision based on reading the material on the Adobe website.
I don't work for Adobe. Just giving you options. I've no idea of your needs or requirements or workflow. Only you know that and if the Cloud is worth your while and fits into your budget.
The Cloud is available by subscription only and gives you access to current versions of just about all major Adobe software titles. Check the website to see exactly what is, and is not, included. When you stop paying your monthly membership fee, your software stops working.

  • I can't Save Presets in Premiere CC

Every time I try to save multiple effects in PPrCC as a preset it never saves all of them just the first one in the stack.  Anybody else experiencing this?

    Hey Digabyte
I had the exact problem.  But I found a work around in CC it may work for you in CS6.
Before you save the group of effects as a Preset, Create a "Preset Bin" (right click on the Preset Folder and select "New Presets Bin") then make sure the newly created preset bin is selected.   Got to the clip hold CTRL then select the multiple effects, right click and save the group of effects a preset.  Then the effects will save properly.  Thats how I'm doing it in CC, it may work for you in CS6.  Also you may need to close the project and re open it, if you are not seeing all the effects.

  • Can't connect to Internet - window asks for username/password

Turned on my iMac today, clicked on Safari and the window opened with address bar saying it was my home page (google). However, favicon is a D in a blue star with red star bursts. The window (not a popup) asks for my Internet Service Provider username and password in order to connect to the Internet. It even gives the correct tech phone # to my ISP and their logo. I did not enter my info but called the isp and they do not know what it is. The two other computers in my house, a PC connected via wire and an iBook G4 connected via AirPort, work fine.
The iMac will not go to any other address in Safari or Firefox, though it will display the address (w. D favicon) in the address bar. Mail will not download email messages from Gmail, either. It says the connection to the server timed out. iTunes can't access the Store and says make sure your network connection is active. Everything was fine when I shut the iMac down on Monday. :0(
Page Source info (in both Safari and Firefox) lists a Javascript with the e-mail [email protected] and Web site http://redrival.com/eak
What is wrong?? It is a virus or malware or something? HELP!
iMac 10.4.11 Safari 3.2.1 connected via AirPort
Thank you for any ideas... tech support at the ISP has never seen anything like this and was zero help.

That may, of course, be a totally different problem. You might have a look in System Preferences > Network. In the Advanced section, under Airport, you can deselect any networks listed there (as well as some other useful changes). It may be that it recognised that network and somehow joined.
I would not worry about viruses on Macs, at least not yet (the future, etc.), but there IS malware like Trojans, and it is possible for people to break into a computer with some help. Make sure the Firewall is on (Security preferences) and that your passwords are strong. A lot of people -- and I am one -- think it is better to work in a User account and leave the Admin account alone, except for maintenance and installing software. That gives a bit more protection as you cannot install stuff in the User account without the Admin password -- gives you a second or so to think, at least.

  • Why Can't Camera Work with Windows Messenger for Mac and give output video?

I can see from the other end, but my camera won't come on so they can't see me. I hear them and can type in Messenger, but I'd like to have 2-way video, not just receive.
My camera works as I use it in Photo Booth, so that's not the problem. I can't find a way to setup the video within Messenger. Don't know if it's problem with Messenger or Leopard.
Whatever it is, it's very annoying that I can't output video.
Anyone with similar problem or have the answer? I'd be forever grateful!
    junroe

Microsoft Messenger doesn't have video support on the Mac version. If you want crossplatform videochat, ask your friends to join AOL Instant Messenger. You can get video chat crossplatform between AOL Instant Messenger for PC & Apple's iChat which supports AOL Instant Messenger screen names. Skype is crossplatform too. An open source program called ophonex supports Microsoft Messenger's Netmeeting protocol for video chat as well. IRC is also crossplatform in videochat though its setup is a bit more complicated with the software known as Ircle for the Mac.

  • Clean install - can I save my old internet settings for wireless router

I am upgrading to Leopard with a clean install. My only concern is that my sister got my computer hooked up to our wireless router ages ago and I'm afriad I won't be able to get back on wireless afterwards.
Is there a way to backup this information, these settings, to my external drive to reinstall once I've done the reinstall?
    Thanks!

    sarah steegar wrote:
uhhh, I think the 2nd thing you said...
We bought a wireless router to work with our pre-existing internet service. She had to put in some disk and go to some website with a bunch of numbers as an "address" and type in some stuff. Something about WEP keys and such (that I obviously don't understand enough to remember clearly). It was quite a hassle is mostly what I remember.
Yes, it can be. The web page is probably the configuration page for the router. The disk suggests she might have had to install some software to get it set up. You would need to reinstall that, I think. It also sounds as if she configured the router from your machine. Although the router is now configured, you don't want to lose the ability to re-configure it if necessary.
I'm going to suggest that you write down as much configuration information as you can.
Are you in a position to make a bootable backup - to clone your current system? You need an external drive big enough to house your system and which is suitable for use as a boot volume. I would strongly recommend this before upgrading in any case. If anything goes wrong, you can always boot from your backup until you sort the problem out. I don't know what sort of backups you keep - you mentioned an external drive but I gather you are backing up just selected files to that.
What kind of router do you have? Are any other computers sharing the connexion to the internet?
