Can't Scan from HP Officejet 7580

Can't scan from my HP Officejet 7580. Use to work just fine, and I have not changed anything I can think of that would affect it. Now I get message "Unexpected Internal Error Has Occurred". I did all the suggested solutions...checked all connections, reinstalled software, rebooted, disconnected/reconnected, and also verified Ditigal Imaging Monitor is active. Nothing helps.
Thanks for your help. Also I think I am suppoed to be abel to scan from Photosmart, but don't see a scan option. Thanks for your suggestions on this also.

Is the 7580 connected via network? USB?
Which OS?
Does the error message indicate the following?
An unexpected internal error has occurred. Click OK to close the program, and then try one of the following:
- Restart the program.
- Restart the PC and then try again.
- Reinstall the Photo & Imaging Software and try again.

Hi there, I can't scan from my HP Office Jet 6700 (Fax) to my MacBook Pro. I've tried all of the tips I've found online but when I try to 'Enable Scan to Computer' it says that there is a communication error. Anyone got any tips for me?

I can't scan from my HP Photosmart C4440; not direct from the scanner to pc nor vice versa, Please help me ASAP, Thanks everyone, I'm stuck with a homework!

Hello  @Roberto3 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having issues scanning. I'd like to help!
Are you able to make a copy as opposed to a scan?
Do you have any errors come up when scanning?
I'd recommend starting with a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Can't scan from Office Jet Pro 8600

I can't scan from my Office Jet Pro 8600.  I'm connected to my home Verizon Fios wireless network.  I'm running Windows XP.  The printer works fine, but I can't scan.  When I use the display on the printer I get a "No Computer Found" message.  When I go to find the scanner on the Control Panel/Scanners & Cameras - I can see the printer listed, but when I click on the printer, I get a message that reads: "The scanning software could not be found, or your scanner is not connected.  Please make sure your scanner & your scanner software are properly installed."    So then I use the HP Print & Scan Doctor to download to "Get Installer" presumably to download the software.  After the software downloads, there is no difference.  I still can scan, & the network is not seeing the scanner.  What gives?

    Hello,
I see that an issue has popped up that pertains to NOT being able to scan.
Please click on the following link that troubleshoots A 'Connection Error' or 'No Computer Detected' Error Message Displays during Scanning.
Please feel free to write back with any additional questions or concerns.

  • Scanning from my Officejet 6700 premium printer to a mac 10.9.3 wirelessly

    Hello,
My new printer is connected wireless to my network.  I can print and scan from the computer fine, but can't scan from printer to computer.
I tried going into the HP Utility folder to confirm the Scan Settings, but all I can do is scan from the computer. It doesn't give me another option.
I have an HP Office 6700 Premium trying to scan to my (new) Mac OS 10.9.3
    Please help

    Hi there hbetz,
I saw your post about how you are able to scan from the computer however, cannot scan from the printers front panel to your computer. Sometimes the connection is interrupted when the computer or printer or even router disconnects or falls into a sleep mode.
Here is a suggestion for you to try:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
    Repair disk permissions
Re-add the printer back (not the AirPrint driver)
I hope that helps you, have a great weekend

  • Trying to scan from hp officejet 150 mobile all in one to my computer

trying to scan from hp officejet 150 mobile all in one to my computer. downloaded the full feature for my printer off hp website. push scan on printer and will not find program on my computer to scan to. help!!!

    Hi @Bryan1968,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are trying to scan with your HP Officejet 150 mobile to your Windows 7 computer. I am happy to help you with your scanning!
First, I would recommend to make sure you have downloaded, and installed the full feature software and drivers, from this website, HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver. It is possble, you might have accidentally installed the basic driver instead.
Then according to your printer's user guide, the scanning functionality will only with a USB cable connection from the printer to the computer. Please see page 43 of your printer's User Guide.
I would also visit this guide, How to Scan: Windows 7, as it will give you some alternate methods of scanning, even without HP software.
Hope this information is helpful, and have a great day!

  • Can't Scan from OfficeJet 4500 AIO over Network

    My home network setup:
    Cisco E2100L router
Directly connected to my OfficeJet 4500 (non-wireless) via Cat6.
    Wirelessly Connected:
My MacBook C2D running Snow Leopard (10.6.4) with most current HP drivers from Apple and current software+drivers for the AIO installed from HP's website.
My wife's Vista laptop, HP Pavillion DV6000 series, current Windows updates and current HP software+drivers for the AIO installed from HP's website.
My home server, homebrewed Athlon X4 running Ubuntu 10.10 (just upgraded) with no HP software or drivers for the AIO installed.
All three machines can print to the AIO. All three can see and setup to use the printer as a default printer and can access the AIO's webserver (to view up status, supplies, etc.).
My problem: My Macbook and my wife's Windows laptop cannot scan from the AIO. My Ubuntu server somehow can. The last is what weirds me out the most, but as the first two deal with HP's software, that's where my focus is.
I've tried completely removing all software/drivers from each of the laptops, powered off the AIO, installed all the software again from scratch (with most current download from HP) and had the same results; can print, no scan. I'm out of ideas on what to do. Can anyone please help me out?

I even got the HP iPrint 3.0 app, and it doesn't work either!  Then I found out my Officejet is not compatible:

  • Can't scan from printer control panel - Officejet 8600a

I receive a "can't scan, print or copy" error message when attempting to scan to e-mail or send a scanned image to external media (USB). However, scanning from the laptop works well. What could be the issue?

    Hi @KrisSordo
Are you seeing this, "can't scan, print or copy" error message, on the computer or on the printer screen? Please also let me know how you are initiating these tasks so I can better understand when the message appears.
In the meantime, do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.   Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers.
Also, have you by chance checked for Firmware updates? If not, please take a look at the following link; HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware < this is for the plus and Premium models.

  • Can't Print or Scan from your OfficeJet Pro after Upgrading from your Win 8 to 8.1?

Are you having problems when attempting to print or scan from Windows 8.1 after printing/scanning successfully prior to upgrading to 8.1?  Uninstall/Re-install.  With this, I might suggest going to your product page on HP.com (sample link posted below) and then hover over "TROUBLESHOOTING" in the top menu and choose "HOW TO" from the drop-down menu.  Click on "Install / Uninstall" link to take you to a document that will walk through the uninstall process.  When that is complete, then click the "DRIVERS" menu on the same product page.  Select the correct Microsoft Windows 8.1 version (either 32 or 64 bit) and then download and install the latest driver.  Good Luck!

  • Cm1312nfi mfp on 32bit windows 7 - upgraded with full solution sw and can't scan from printer

I have had a cm1312nfi mrp since 2009 that works fine but my HP Solution centre stopped giving me ink levels.
I uninstalled the printer software and downloded the current full solution sw for 32 bit windows 7 from HP. The printer works but I did not 'get' HP solution centre back and so cannot scan from the printer.
[I did download HP toolbox so I can see ink levels and can test the scan function which does work. However it does not have the ocr capabiltity which I had before and also it doesn't allow me to operate the scanner from the printer.]
Can you help me either get HP solution Centre back and functioning on my computer or else suggest some other solution to my problem?

    Hi,
The HP Solution Center is a software for inkjet printers as the HP Officejet product line, not for laserjet printers as the CM1312.
You may find the Supplies status within the HPToolboxFX softwre by selecting Supplies:

  • Can't scan from 5610 all in one front panel

I have an HP5610 all in one installed on my Dell Vostro 200 with E6550 dual core processor, XP SP3 home OS. I noticed the problem when I tried to scan from the front panel of my 5610 and the orange exclamation light started blinking. The display said "No Scan Options". I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it said to set the front panel scan destinations. I selected the default settings and closed the HP Direc.exe. When I opened the HP Direc.exe and looked for the panel destination that I set, I saw that they did not save. I can scan just fine using the HP software and have been doing so for many years. I now am wondering if I have had this issue all along, especially since I never remember trying to scan from the front panel of my 5610 until the other day.
I have done just about everything the Printing and Scan Doctor told me to do. I have shut down my 5610, unplugged it for several minutes, plugged it back in, removed the all in one program and reinstalled from the HP website. What is strange...I have the 5610 software installed on a Dell 3000 Dimension I have in a home network and it works perfectly. I'm seriously thinking about moving the 5610 in the room with my Dimension 3000 and buying a (print only) printer for my Vostro 200. I can work around this but I can't stand to have something not work correctly with a very good computer. Please, no comments on my preferred operating system. I am not upgrading, and as I said, this all in one works perfectly with a PC built in 2004. And contrary to belief, I am still getting security updates on a biweekly basis from Microsoft. One day last week I got 8 in one day. Thanks all for all of your excellent help!

  • Can't scan from my computer or to my computer from the scanner

I used to be able to scan from my computer. Then the scanner function from the computer disappeared, but I could still scan at the HP8600 printer, and send it to my computer, but now my computer doesn't show up as an option in the scan function, and I can't figure out how to add it. Have looked for solutions on line, but don't have the HP Solutions Center. Have gone thru the troubleshoot download, and all went well till it asked me if my computer is hooked up with a USB cable, and it isn't. Showing an error. I'm just running in circles. I have Windows 7.

    Hello @sbappraiser ,
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to ask that question on the HP Forums today!
I understand you are having some trouble with the scanner software portion of your printer software for your wireless HP Officejet 8600. You say that the scanning software disappeared and was working for a bit, but now isn't.
Just so you know HP Solution Centre is old HP software for older models, the Officejet 8600 uses the Printer Assistant Software. What I am going to get you to do is an "Uninstall/Reinstall" of the software so that you can clean out anything that isn't good in there right now and replace it with the up to date "good stuff".
    Please follow these 2 documents the best you can let me know what goes on;
    1. How to uninstall the printer properly >> Uninstalling the Printer
    2. How to install the printer using the internet >> Setting Up the Printer for a Wireless or Wired Network for the HP Officejet Pro 251dw, 276dw, and 86...
