Can't search for the term 'XML' in HTML-Help

Hi!
I work with RH8HTML (8.0.0.203), Windows Vista Business SP2 and IE 7.0.6002.18005.
I've created some topics which include the term XML. When I create the HTML-Help, then search for the term XML, I am shown a message that says Help cannot search for that term. But when I create Web-Help, Help can search for it!
I have checked the Stoplist and the List of ignored words, but XML is not listed.
Does anybody have an explanation for this strange behaviour?

Hi all
I just tested this in RoboHelp 8 and it was fine on my own system. The message Peter saw seems to be the typical "Click cancel to stop the search." I attempted to capture it on my own PC but it flashes by so quickly that it eludes me.

The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

Can Portal search for the old version of a specific item?

If I have created several versions of a file item in Portal, can I search the old versions of this item? The old versions of this item are invisible in portal page. If so, how? Thanks in advance.

Currently, Portal does not support searching of non-active versions of an item.

Can I permanently disable the navigation pane in HTML help?

My company has a web-based application on MicroStrategy platform.
I have created a customized WebHelp to replace the MicroStrategy out of the box help and that works just fine.
We are developing the MicroStrategy Office add-in for Excel for our clients.
Once installed, a CHM file is copied to the client's local hard drive.
We want to replace this with our own customized help.
I have created a CHM file with ONE topic that redirects the clients to our customzied WebHelp with content for the add-in.
The one topic has a redirect in the HTML header code as follows:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=https://customhelp.htm#AddIn_Introduction.htm" />
That is working fine in my testing.
Here is my problem...
The HTML Help Viewer opens and automatically hides the Navigation Pane and displays the WebHelp (navigation pane, menu bar and topic pane).
But, the HTML Help Viewer still has the Hide/Show button to Hide/Show the navigation pane for the HTML help.
Is there ANY way to disable this or hide it or let it stay there but disable the navigation pane?
As always, any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks - that did exactly what I wanted it to do.
It did not work in my testing, but I think the KEY point that I missed was the sequence of unchecking the options in the Window setup.
Now I have a one topic CHM help file that automatically redirects to my WebHelp on my application server.
The CHM opens and automatically redirects to my WebHelp and the WebHelp (frameset and all) display in an HTML Help Viewer window that has no HTML Help Viewer navigation buttons.
One last note, the WebHelp displays with the Contents/Index/Search for WebHelp included in the presentation.
I have not deployed this in a non-test environment so I may still run into issues but so far it is good.

Can't search for "bizarre inc. such a feeling" in google with safari

Here's an odd thing: I just tried to search for the term "bizarre inc. such a feeling" in google with safari, and it wouldn't return any results. If I search for just "such a feeling" or "bizarre inc." on their own, both return results. As soon as I begin to enter both terms together, autofill stops and the search won't complete. If I misspell a word, autofill comes back and I can search for the term.
I can search fro the complete term "bizarre inc. such a feeling" in google with firefox and there are no problems.
It seems to me that this specific term is being blocked within safari, but I can't figure out why; I mean, the song isn't amazing, but it's not that bad either! A video for the song will show up simply be searching "such a feeling". Other songs can be rereived without issue.
Has anyone else had a specific search term which has been blocked?
I'm running Loin with safari 5.1 on my own machine.

No, I understand how autofill works. When I hit return, nothing happens. I also don't get a response if I click the blue "search" icon next to the bar at google.com.
So it's clearly something going on in my system. Oh well, it's not really an issue, and doubt I'll ever search the term again, but it was interesting because of how specific the problem was.

Search for the t-code where the specefic output type is used

I want to know how can we search for the t-code used for a specefic output type in use?
I have a requirement where in i have a output type, i knwo teh prog name and the form name...
i know it is used in SD and billing but i am not able ot exactly pin point as to in which t-code to be used..so that i can check the output throught the T-code.
Experts sugget!!

It is used for a Standard t-code i want to find that T-code. Through NACE the outputtype (which i already have) i can find teh prog name and the form name.
and through SPRO also its the same info...
i want to knwo for SD-> Billing->INvoice i can find the output type...i want to knwo what T-code needs to be run and on givign the data and running the out put type from the menu and choosing my OUTput type...and seeing the output in the print format.

How to search for the selected text with a non-default search engine?

Hi,
Before the recent update of the search bar, you could select your "current" search engine, and a search for the selected text (right-click on selection) would use that engine.
Now, it seems that you can only search for the selected text using the default engine. If that's correct, this is a major step backwards for me. For instance, I can't have Google as my default search engine, and search for a selected text on eBay!
Or am I missing something?

You can configure Spotlight so it will also search in system files or you can download and use EasyFind 4.9.3 that doesn't require special configuration.
Get Spotlight to search system files (and more)
Enter the search term in the Finder window's search field.
Click the [+] button in the search bar to add a search option.
In the first drop down menu choose Other.
Choose “System Files” from the list that pops up (and check the box to place in drop down menu to avoid this step later,) click on the OK button.
Now back in the Finder choose Include from the second drop down menu.

How can i search for a color that is not in the color palette? (CS 5.5)

I have a client, that has used a certain color in a series of textfields throughout the document.
The color consists of all 4 CMYK colors and needs to be just Keycolor. However the color is not in the swatches menu, so marking it there and changing it won't work. I have downloaded a script that might have worked, but it could only find colors that were in the swatches palette. (Find / Change by Color / Overprint" version 1.2).
Ofcourse, creating a similar color and adding it to the swatches doesn't work.
Is there anyway that i can search for the color or does it really have to be done manually.

You can only search for real, actually existing swatches. No sweat: use "Add Unnamed Colors" in the Swatch panel dropdown menu to get a list of all of the manually applied colors.
Since you want to change all of them to the same color, you don't even have to use Search/Replace. Simply delete the new colors and select the one you need in the "Replace With" dialog that appears.

How did you move the music to the external drive? What exactly is on the drive? The entire iTunes folder or only music? If it is the entire iTunes folder you can do the option+start suggestion earlier. Is there any way to search for a term using the Firefox search field, and have the results automatically open in a new tab? When there was support for Google Toolbar, I was able to do this; now, whenever I want to search for something, I have to open a new tab to do it, and cut-and-paste my search into the search field in the new tab. I used to be able to highlight, drag, and drop something into the search field and have it automatically open in a new tab. This is enough for me to switch to Chrome . . .

About Google toolbar............
Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer version. It is best to move on to other alternatives than to try any "hacks" to the toolbar that may or may not perform in the future. Future versions of Google toolbar will only work with IE7-9. You have already seen that you cannot load the new iTunes into your 10.5.8, so as Neil says, you need Snow Leopard (current cost £14). And you'll probably need to update the disc you buy via the combo update, though that is free.
As far as the new iTunes is concerned, there's been a certain amount of grumbling so you may want to study the forums before you update. The main problem has been with album artwork which does not transfer easily.
