Can't search messages in Gmail or go to second page of messages in firefox

I have firefox and windows 8. For some reason I can not search messages in gmail. When I type in a search term and press the search button, the entire page just refreshes with no result. Also, when I click on the arrow to get another page of messages, I can't actually click. It doesn't do anything. I thought it was a Windows 8 problem because I just got a new computer with Windows 8 but I don't have the issue in Chrome or IE. I have tried clearing the cache and cookies.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

Acrobat 8 Professional can't find the scanning device when creating the second page of the PDF file

Hey guys, this is my first post here, so please excuse me if there is anything I need to know.
I am a Mac User and I have the whole CS3 suit installed.
Everything works just great except there is this little thing bugs me around.
When I try to use Acrobat Professional 8.0 to create a PDF file through my scanner, (samsung SCX-4725FN, it's scan/print/fax combined) I wouldn't be able to continue to scan to the second page. To be more specific, I have no problem to scan and create the first page of the PDF file, when it asks me if I want to scan and create another page, when I confirmed it, I wouldn't be able to see the scanner in the "Acrobat Scan" window. The "scan" botton stay faded, therefore I can't continue. If I click "cancel" and try to create another PDF file from the scanner, the smae problem will show up again. The only way that I can continue to scan is to quit the program from the menu bar and restart it, then I can start to create the next '1st page only' PDF file from the scanner. I had to do this rapidly to get all the pages scanned first, and then combine them to get my work done. This is a pain in the butt. I have downloaded the most updated scanner driver, and patched Acrobat to version 8.1.2 , but the problem still exist. I have tested the scanner with PS CS3, the scanner works just fine. So I assume there is a glitch here with the software. Can anyone help me please?

I am not very clear at which step you are facing issue. Below is the sequence in order to scan more pages from Acrobat:
1. Launch Acrobat. Click menu File->Create PDF->From Scanner....
2. "Acrobat Scan" dialog will appear. Select your scanner installed in Scanner dropdown. Check 'Prompt for scanning more pages' checkbox as you want to scan more than one page. Click Scan button in "Acrobat Scan" dialog.
3. Now scanner UI will appear. Make setting like color mode/resolution and click Scan button(or may be Accept button) in this dialog. (This is scanner specific ui)
4. After this scanning will happen and "Acrobat Scan" dialog will appear with "Scan is Complete" and "Scan more pages" option.
5. Select "Scan more pages" option and click OK in this dialog to scan more pages.
6. Now again scanner UI will appear as in step 3 above. Make your settings and proceed.
Do you see scanner UI or "Acrobat Scan" dialog in step6? Are you not able to click Scan(or Accept) button in scanner UI?

Can I search messages quickly without having to "load earlier messages"?

Im trying to find certain messages from a contact on my phone, I need to go back over a year and its taking so long having to scroll and load earlier messages.
Is there a faster way to do this?

No, as the phone will only search a specific time period. There is no setting for that. The easier way would be to not have as much on the device, or to use a 3rd party program to remove the conversations from the phone and search via the computer. SMS messages on the phone are in a volatile memory situation. Should anything happen to the device you could lose them in an instant, especially if you do not backup/sync the phone on a regular basis.

Safari won't recognize www.apple.com if by chance opens the home page when I request another website , it tells me I am not connected to internet , but I am , then I try to go to firefox and i get the same problem , then I wnet to another place (at&T htspot and all is working perfect all brwser work normal . I am assuming this has to do with my house network , but all other computers do not have a problem they work ok . So I ask is there a problem with my computer with the network , how can I see if that is the case

The standard arch kernel includes all the required modules, at most you need to load them explicitly listing them in MODULES in /etc/rc.conf
You need also the hw specific stuff, that is i915 and intelagp. Check lsmod and see if they are loaded. If they are not, inspect dmesg and see if udev tries to load them and fails for some reason.
I remember some cases where intelagp and i915 are not loaded by udev in the right order, if this is your case you can try to list them in the right order in MODULES.
There should be no need to recompile the kernel or to install a particular version of dri (just use the arch packages for mesa, libdrm etc; but I guess you have them already)

When a html coded page requires the Windows Symbol font, Firefox does not call it, and the English alphabet characters display instead. How can I get the Symbol font to work when the page is loaded in Firefox??

This site shows Greek letters and Greek words by calling for the Windows Symbol font. The page(s) involved display correctly in Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox 3.6.1 or 8.1. In Firefox, the Greek letter does not appear, it is just replaced with the English letter for the equivalent keystroke. Here is a html line that ought to cause Symbol's Greek letter lowercase alpha to be displayed, but all you get is an "a" :

Reemphasizing, the page code works on Internet Explorer. It does _not_ work with Firefox ver 3.6.1 nor ver 8.0.1 (which I upgraded to, to see if that would solve the problem). The MDC FAQ solution is not a solution, because it forces the html coder to change his language just to accommodate Firefox. Firefox needs to change to conform to standards.

I think Firefox wants you to use _its_ font faces, not the standard Windows fonts. They do not have a Symbol font to replace the Windows TTF, I guess.

Some emails don't appear in the folder list, I can only find them by using Search Messages

As of yesterday, new emails from one regular correspondent do not appear in the list of messages when I click on Inbox. The only way I can access them is to use "Edit/Find/Search Messages". They are still in Inbox, they haven't been moved to another folder.
Thunderbird version is 31.6.0.

None of these apply, the messages have been received, I can find them using Search Messages but they do not appear in the folder contents.

Can't search in gmail

A lot of the time when I want to use Mail (which is set up for my gmail account), and I am searching email, I get no results. I enter a word in the search box, click on "All", and even though I know the word is in at least one email, none show up. I do click on "search messages on server", but it still doesn't show up. Sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone know the solution?

I am unable to get any search results from any of my mail accounts even from the mail on the iPad never mind the server.
That includes mobile me, exchange and gmail. It just doesn't seem to be working at all.
I have deleted all my mail accounts and recreated them on the iPad and by syncing in iTunes. Nothing seems to give me the ability to search mail.
Is anyone experiencing this?

Can TB display a Message Pane in "Search Messages" as is done in the main email list

In the main TB screen F8 toggles message preview for the highlighted message.
In the Search Messages screen Ctrl+Shift+F is there a way of previewing the highlighted message resulting from a search.
Having to open each message can be tedious!

By altering the value of the :system.message_level to '5' before the code i have pasted and resetting it to '0' afterwards ... so as not to inhibit the successful save messages.....!!!!

Can't search "entire message" in Leopard mail

Since installing Leopard last night, I can't search my mailboxes by "entire message"!!! The "Entire Message" filter text is greyed out. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas?

Why can't I send a gmail with a photo without getting error message?

I want to send a photo to my insurance co. Of an accident at the scene where it happened . I can compose the message but the to: column keeps showing error. Do I need html, doc, or what in order to send? I'm using my smartphone galaxy s5

In the meantime try drive. drive.google.com, its free with every gmail account.
In order to share an image on Firefox for Android in gmail. Currently the mobile version of gmail does not have an option to send attachments. You will need another app.

Gmail can no longer forward or compose messages in Firefox

As of three days ago, I can no longer reply nor compose messages in Gmail. I have checked 'dom.storage' and it is set to 'true'. Any other suggestions?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

I can access Google, but not Gmail.

Hi guys. I've been having trouble with my internet connection for as long as I've had my Mac (one year). For the longest time, I've repeatedly had to click the icon for Airport and then turn it off and back on again to recover my connection to Google Gmail and Google docs. These are the first sites to disappear, later I have trouble accessing other sites, this is corrected by turing off and then on Airport. But that is very frustrating, and I often have to do it over and over again. Also, I'm puzzled by the fact that my Skype connection is rarely bothered when access to others sites drops.
I've been reading as much as I can find and trying the airport utility. Clearly I am stupid because things went from bad to worse. Now I can access Google, but not Gmail. I can access most parts of Apple.com, but when I tried to purchase the upgrade to OS 10.6, I couldn't view the page images. I found the same problem on a few other sites. When I tried to access Linkedin, I could get to the login page, but no further.
In each case, I get the usual message: Safari can’t open the page “https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false& continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fmail%2F%3Fhl%3Den%26tab%3Dwm%26ui%3Dhtml %26zy%3Dl&bsv=1eic6yu9oa4y3&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&hl=en” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “www.google.com”.
I've tried resetting Airport back to the factory settings. Now all I get is the blinking yellow light - I'm not sure what that means.
I'm now connected via hardwire, but access is limited to very few sites, such as this one and Google. I can search google, but I can't access gmail. I can access everything on my windows computer through the same wired network.

I am having this same problem, but it's not related to parental controls. I have to keep turning the airport on and off as well. Here (http://www.mac-help.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9802) is a post I made over at mac-help.. still waiting for a reply.
What I've noticed is, the DNS is resolving correctly, but I cannot access certain sites. Regardless, I've tried Open DNS servers and still get the same result. It's not a specific browser. Certain sites go down in a few minutes after visiting them. Some go down faster than others. And others don't go down at all. Sites I've had problems with are Apple.com (to make this post I've had to turn the airport on and off continually), Gmail.com, Google.com, while Google.ca works fine.
A solution would be great..

Can't find messages in Mail

Our company uses GMail as a mail service provider. This is a professional account, so it's under our own domain. I use Mail to download these messages to my MacAir.
I consistantly can't find messages after they have been downloaded by Mail. Oddly, Mail does find information for them and includes hits in the find box at the top of the window.
For instance, I received a message from RingCentral on Jan 7th, and when I type "ring" into the find box, the first hit is a Person, the person who sent me the message.
But if I select that Person, I get no results.
So Mail is aware I got a message from this person, but can't find the actual message.
This is *very* common, it seems it can only find messages from the last two days or so.
Any suggestions?
