Can't search on iOS 6 appstore

This just started today.
Using iOS6
iPhone4
No app restrictions on the iPhone
When searching on the AppStore app the circle spins but I get no results. No Message. The screen is white with the search bar on the top.
I can see and install apps using the Featured tab and the Charts tab. Also, I don't have an issue when using third party apps that redirect to the appstore for a specific app.
I have stoped the AppStore app from running (hitting the minus when the icon is wiggling) and then did a reset of the iPhone (home and power button until the apple logo appears)
I don't know if it's my iPhone or if the AppStore is busy. I never have had this happen before and am wondering if others are having the same difficulties.
I am hoping this is something that will go away and will try off-n-on to see if it starts working.
Any other suggestis would be helpful.

Thanks for the alternative suggestion. I hadn't even considered a server issue. Just assumed it was due to the ios6 as it seems to have been that way since I upgraded.
What I was getting was that I would enter something, like 'brushes' and as I'm typing all the suggestions would come up (you know, search all results for brushes, brushes 3 etc etc) but when I clicked on return it was just a white page.
You are not going to believe this but I have just gone back in and typed brushes as wanted to tell you exactly what I was clicking on etc and the search is working fine. I have tried it with other words and all seems fine. I seriously can't believe it as its the first time since I upgraded that its worked !! And i tried it again just before my post above.
I don't know what magic potions you have there in Maine but they work :)))))))
Oh, I'm in the UK by the way. So, I don't know whether its a server issue or not (I'm not that technically minded) but at the mo it seems ok. So I will have to find something else to rant about.

    Yup, the new itunes is worthless unless every song you have is in your itunes library as well. (unless you buy every song from itunes this is simply impossible)  Apparently Apple threw away the feature in an effort to force everyone to purchase their media through itunes.  This is probably the worst idea about the new Itunes, the only way to go back is to restore your computer to a time before you downloaded the new version, otherwise wait and hope the next version in a year or so will have it.

    I currently have an iPhone and iPad, and am soon changing over to a Mac. When that happen I'd like to try to see what I can migrate over from the Google ecosystem to the iCloud ecosystem.
    1) Currently I have the Gmail iOS app (a webapp container) that can search server-side of several years of email archive.  Can iCloud do this using the iOS native mail application?  Or is the search just limited to what the device has downloaded locally?
    2) Do I have to use a @me.com address for the full iCloud email sync to take place between server, Mac, and iOS devices?
    Believe it or not I've read quite a bit about the iCloud services, but the answers to these questions were far from clear.  Many thanks for the help.

    2)  iCloud only syncs email between .me/.mac addresses.  For other accounts like google, you set up the account in the mail app and if they're IMAP accounts, you can sync between the google server and any devices you have defined that account on.
    I'm not absolutely sure about 1) since I haven't had to search going back years - I use MailSteward for that on the mac.  On my iPhone/iPad, when I go into a mailbox and the emails are not immediately available, it downloads them.  I suspect for a search, you need the emails downloaded.

  • I can't search any videos on YouTube/Download any app from the App Store

    Hi,
    I am using movistar 3G network (Spain), full signal. Everything works fine, Stock app, Weather app, Mail, Safari... but I can't search for any videos on YouTube and can't download any app from the App Store.
    I can see videos on YouTube app but only the featured videos, when I try to search the ones I want to see I get an error message "Cannot connect to YouTube".
    The only problem is when searching videos on YouTube app.
    When I try to download an app from the App Store I get a similar error message, "The download can´t be done, connect to iTunes" more or less, that's the sense of the message.
    I can connect to the AppStore, surf it but when I press Install... I get the error message.
    I know that my carrier, movistar (Spain) has an issue with secure webs (https), it's impossible to surf any secure web by now but I don´t know if this is related with my problems.
    This happens with 2.1 and 2.2 firmware version.
    I have the iPhone set in spanish from Spain and the time is right. By the way, using WiFi everything works fine, everything, I can search for videos on YouTube app and download apps from the AppStore.
    I don´t know what more can I do, can someone help me? please. = (

    FWIW, the only part of Java not installed is the Java Runtime Environment. Launch the Java Preferences.app in /Utilities and DL it when prompted. Then, enable plugins and Web Start apps.

  • How can I correct/delete iOS holidays on iDevice?

    I discovered a number of strange entries in iCal on my iDevices which I didn't enter, and also were just on this device and neither my Mac nor the other device.
    After a little search I found that my iPhone has a calendar for German holidays and the iPad a calendar for Swiss holidays. This is rather strange as I live in Austria and haven't visited these countries since the time I got these devices (>2 years). These calendars are in the section where also birthdays are and can not be edited or deleted. They also don't show up on iCal on the mac. I also checked the timezone on the devices - but this is set to Vienna - Austria.
    So how would I fix them to Austrian holidays? - or at least delete so I won't be irritated by them.

    I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

    I can't search for book or authors in ibooks.  When I search an author or book and click on it a message that says not results found comes up.  Even if I try to look up something popular like Dracula or Twilight.  Is there some setting I should have clicked?  It won't find or download any books at all anymore.  This started about a month ago.  I have been using my Kindle app instead.

    I see that you are having issues with your connection to the iBooks Store. Here is an article with some troubleshooting steps that will be relevant to your issue, even though the article was written for issues with the iTunes Store:
    Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
    Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
    Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
    Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update(iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
    Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
    Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
    Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.

    Downgrading of any version of iOS isn't supported by Apple. If you search the web, you may find instructions that may work, but you're on your own should any problems arise. For many people it goes without problems, but for some it's reportedly disabled their devices.

    I have OS X Server setup on a Mac Mini and an Airport Extreme.
    Airport is 10.0.1.1 and server is 10.0.1.3.
    Server is setup to use DNS itself by server.mydomain.com
    Airport is setup to use the server as DNS and the server then routes DNS queries onward to the internet.
    Essentially anyone on my internal network thinks server.mydomain.com is the server itself. This is what I want.
    From the outside, anyone searching for server.mydomain.com get's some page on a free hosting site with "Server is not accessible from the internet"
    I also use a self-signed certificate to secure communications. It's valid.
    Now this configuration has worked for the past two years. Out of curiosity in Server 3.1.1 I decided to give Profile manager a shot. Set it up, no worries.
    Installed the Trust Profile first and then the Enroll profile. Done.
    I can enroll and wipe, lock any mac in my firm remotely. Everything works, except iOS devices.
    Any iOS device I try it fails at "Installing profile", I tried friend's phones, my own iPad... every iPad in my firm. It fails consistently at the same step, with no error code what so ever.
    Is there  a checklist I need to go through? Do I need some kind of weird certificate setup?
    PS. Is it a problem if my devices are enrolled as development devices, thei UUID is in Apple's device list for beta software and iOS development?

    The Problem is your DNS is being pushed locally to the iOS Device from your Airport Extreme and the DNS on your Airport extreme is undoubtedly a public form of DNS that does not recognize your private server's ip address or HQDN, in Airport Utility point the DNS at your server and let your Server provide the public DNS mapping and allow your Router to provide your Server's DNS.  This should resolve your issue and allow you to enroll your iOS Devices by logging into the Profile Manager Web Portal from the iOS Device.

    Mark the names that you see in the apps man.. They should be like a000c1b.sis etc.
    Connect the phone to your PC as USB mass storage device.
    Open the drive in your PC.
    In search option, write down the name, the files will appear, delete em.
    Or, you can use 3rd party File explorer like explore to delete em.

    Try Resetting Network Settings from Settings > General Reset.
