Can't see about:config, need to reset

So, I was trying to test the effectiveness of retina images in this site that I'm building, and I inadvertently set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to something absurd like -12. Now I can't see anything on the page, and I need to reset the configurations blindly. Is there a way to do this in a url string? Or anything else? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try to search for prefs.js -- but you need to use whatever tricks are appropriate for searching in hidden folders.

Details in original question above - maybe that's why response was that this question had not been asked before. I use very slow dial-up (DSL not available in my area) and I have a lot of computer problems as a result. So I'm not sure if this is because of my computer or if the page really is no longer available. Last time I reinstalled the OS I was able to access it and make changes (May 13-14). I need to reinstall the OS again but, if I can't access about.config, I won't be able to get the computer back to working the way I want (status bar at bottom of screen, etc.). Is there some other way I can try to access the about.config page?

Hi,
to see and check your configuration changes while developing you do not need to apply repository changes and move the changes to the server.
You can easily check everything locally on your computer.
What you need:
* Siebel Tools
* Siebel Developer Web Client
* a local database
-> Compile any changes you made to your local SRF file which is used by Siebel developer client (usually it resides in Siebel Installation folder \ client \ OBJECTS \ language)
-> Start Developer Web Client and check your changes.
As you continue your development, you only need to compile from Siebel Tools and your client will be automatically closed and re-opened.
This is basic Siebel development. You might want to read the Siebel Bookshelf for further details.

Prefs that do not have the default value have their modified value stored in the prefs.js file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can create a user.js file with this line to make Firefox start in Private Browsing mode.

Firefox read the user.js file on every start, so as long as this file is present then Firefox will start in Private Browsing mode.<br />
You can either move (copy) or rename this file to enable and disable it.

HT1515 Just installed Airport Express on Mac 10.6.8 Can't see base station. Hard Reset the Airport. Rebooted machine. How can I tell if this is a Mac problem or Airport Express Problem?

I have a Mac 10.6.8. Just installed Airport Express. I can't see any base stations. I did a hard reset on the Airport Express, turned off all devices, turned them back on. I see plenty of Airport networks in the neighborhood. How can I tell if I have a Mac problem or an Airport Express problem? Airport Express blinks Amber.

Obviously, I'm still using ethernet to be able to reply to this.
Alright, use the same ethernet cable to plug directly into the airport express. This will FORCE the airport utility to now see it regardless of weak signals & interference. You can set it up that way.
BTW, what is the original intent on the express?

How can I retain about:config settings when updating firefox?

Really appreciate all the hard work creating updates but every time I update I lose my about:config settings, especially the browser.tab ones that I rely on. Specifically I use non-default settings on InsertRelatedAfterCurrent and all the warning ones. (I never want to be warned). I also use the Tabs on Bottom plugin which also has to be reinstalled after major updates. I run Firefox on at least 4 separate machines so it is a rather huge headache to have to reconfigure after each update. Is there a way to tell Firefox to update but don't change my settings back to defaults?

Is it possible you used the Refresh feature? Sometimes after an update installs Firefox displays a message that it is running sluggishly and you can improve performance by restoring some default settings. That runs the Refresh feature, which will default your settings and remove all of your extensions (the ones you installed into Firefox yourself, not ones that were added by other software on your system). The telltale sign is that an Old Firefox Data folder appears on your desktop with your "old" settings folder inside. If you have experienced this repeatedly, there may be several old folders inside. Could that be the explanation?
You might want to create a backup of your prefs.js file, which stores your modified Firefox preferences, before your next update. You can find that file in your currently active Firefox settings (profile) folder as follows (either):

* (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Scroll down and make a copy of prefs.js (or it may shows prefs and a file type of JScript) in a safe location such as your documents folder.

I can not get the thunderbird, very large picture off of my screen, very annoying. I now can only see about 7 of my email

for some reason that I do not understand I started getting on my screen the Thunderbird page. I kept trying to cancel it but it would not go away. I finally said I would join. I was already using it so this continues to be annoying and it got worse when the "welcome to Tunerbird" appeared. As I say i was already using them. Now I can not get that off the screen and I can now only see about 7 emails, I have about 25.

Column Security - Users can't see it, but need to use it in the query WHERE Clause

I am looking at possible solutions (if any) on column security. We need to be able to restrict users from seeing certain columns, however, they will need these columns in the WHERE clause of queries.
I thought about creating views, however, it would be a poor database design. Is there any way that this can be done on the database level. I know about Fine Granular Access Method, however, this just excludes the column completely. Which means that they can not be used in the WHERE clause.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I too added 2nd apple ID when I tried to get Free app from apple store just to get to NONE on the credit card needed. It said it sent confirmation email to my new apple ID email that I have to confirm. Problem is I can not get to the new apple ID email account. On my ipad it logs into my original email account and I see no where to log into another email account. If I go to my laptop, the new apple ID I created does not let me log into email where apple said it was sent to. It did not send to back up email account either.
Can I log into 2 email accounts on my ipad where it says mail at bottom?
Can I have 2 apple ids?

If I used my original apple id I created when I got my new ipad, it will not let me get free app without credit card, there is no where it says NONE needed. I am too new to apple to start with credit cards etc until I get use to it.

Captions of photos in Yahoo cover the bottom part of pic. Makes it hard to read text and also can't see whole photo. Tried reset Firefox but that didn't work.

When going through photo galleries on Yahoo (in news, omg, etc.) the caption is displayed on top of the bottom 'fifth' of the photo. (The caption should be below the entire photo.) The way the pations are overlayed makes it difficult to read the text of the caption and worse, it makes it almost impossible to see the lower fifth of the photo. I tried resetting Firefox but that didn't change anything. I can't find any yahoo settings or OS X display setting that changed this. I'm using Firefox 25 on a macbook air running OS X 10. Are there any firefox settings that would improve this? Thanks.

You can also try to reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Are you talking about FCP X? You just need to open the App Store application in the mac, login with the same Apple ID you used to buy the software, and click on "purchases".
If you mean legacy Final Cut, then you probably need to have the original disks, but you should ask in the Final Cut Studio forum.

I can't see text that need to be type on text boxes to finalize a post or cancel/change accounts in certain webpages

Every time I need to post ask something in a certain web page y have a last step asking me to type two words into a text box to finalize my post,but I can't even see the words, not even refreshing the page, same thing when I want to cancel an account in another web page they ask me to type the words in a security box, but I don't see any words, is there something into my internet configuration I need to change? please help!

To view text logs for the current billing period:
Log into your on-line MyVerizon account
Click the blue View Usage on the left-hand side
Under the red Messaging, click the blue View Messaging Details
To view your text logs for previous billing periods:
When logged into your on-line MyVerizon account, click View Bill.
Use the drop-down to select the appropriate bill.
Click the Calls, Messages, & Data tab.
Click the blue Messaging.
Use the drop-down to select the appropriate line.
Text message details are only available for the past 90 days.

On one Web site I can only see about 3/4 of the page. The full page shows on a different computer.

The left side and the right sides do not show. The same problem exists with other browsers. I have not experienced this problem with other Web sites.
