Can't see any of my own music

Hi, my husband recently got a new computer so I had got his old computer.
Unfortunately when I log onto my iTunes account, all I still see is his music and can't see any of my own.
How do I fix this so I can start buying more music and transfering them over to my phone. I also enjoy listening to my music on my computer when I'm off searching the web so this is a big issue for me!

It sounds as though the old computer's iTunes is still logged into his account in the iTunes Store. If so, log out of his account and log into yours. Then you can download the music (that you've bought from the iTunes Store) to your Library.
For music purchased from other sources than the iTunes Store, you need to copy that music from your old computer onto the new one. You should also de-authorise your old computer (in the iTunes Store).

    First, are you positive it is really not there?  Have you looked in your iTunes folder in your Music folder, and in the media folders there? Do you see your media files?
    If your media are gone it is a lot easier to restore from a proper computer backup.  Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

    Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

    Visibility of the Podcasts section is controlled from within the Edit > Preferences dialog.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
    Missing tracks
    Typically this can happen because a file or folder is accidentally shunted to the wrong location. iTunes can also get confused if it expects to be talking to an external drive which isn't there. If will often reset the default media folder location and may have trouble finding files in the old folders.
    Select one of your tracks that is missing in action. Press CTRL-I to Get Info. Cancel when asked to try to locate the file, then look at the location given on the summary tab. This where iTunes thinks the file ought to be? Now find out where it actually is. Post back the two locations for comparison. I should be able to give you some steps to reconnect everything once I can determine which of the things that might have gone wrong is most likely in your case.
    When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Can't see any tumbnails, Can't create proxy.

    Hello,
    I'm new into the FCS support and I do have a problem now with my FinalCutServer version 1.5.2 running on an Xserver with V-trak.
    First of all everything was running correctly but after some one did "propagate permissions" on my root harddrive everything was messed up ofcourse.
    I was able to create a back-up of the FCS database (production media and proxy media folders are stored on the V-trak).
    I did a complete clean install of the server and FCS and did place back the backup.
    Everthing works fine now but the only problem is that I can't see any thumbnails, when I rightclick on an image and click on View Original that all works perfect. When I click in the top and then at the left the landscape looking icon I get the error message that he can't create a proxy.
    This also happens with new images that go into FCS.
    I did already try to right-click on an image and then Analyze or re-create proxy but none of that works.
    Is there anyone who can help me or that have the same issues after restoring a back-up?

    Update: Maybe important to know, my Proxies.bundle is empty.

    Sounds like propagating the permissions is what screwed you up, as I'm sure you're aware. That's something that has to be adjusted in the Server Admin app, not in FCSvr.  How does FCSvr connect to the storage? Whatever user it's connected as needs to have read/write access to your proxies bundle and also the directory in which it lives. It looks like it doesn't have write access, which explains why it's empty, so proxies/thumbnails/poster frames cannot be generated. Go to the "Search All Jobs" list and see what it says when you try to generate a proxy or thumbnail - I'm guessing you'll see a bunch of  FAIL's. Open one of the jobs and look for the error message - I'm betting you'll see something to the effect of "Could not be created: Permission denied."
    Permissions changes can really screw your distribution up - I find that permissions issues are what plague my own distribution almost weekly. If you have a distribution where your users have Finder-level access to the storage that FCSvr is cataloging, you may have situations where your users will create folders and files that FCSvr doesn't have write or even read access to, because of various reasons (maybe the user copied the folder/file from elsewhere, maybe their umask is 022, etc). That can lead to wanting to use Server Admin's "Propagate Permissions" functionality, which if used improperly can cripple your entire distribution.

    I have backed up my iPhone to iCloud. I have switched on the back up photos, etc. (basically everything). But, when I open iClould on my computer, and log in, the only things I see are my Contacts, iCloud email (not my other two email accounts that I use on my iPhone), iWork, Calendar, and Notes. I don't see any photos, videos, or music (all music purchased from iTunes Store). When Im logged in to iCloud on my desktop (actually, it's a MacBook), and open Settings, there really aren't that many things to 'set'. In fact, there isn't much in iCloud. Whats up?

    You can't see the contents of an iCloud backup on the iCloud website.

    1 - iPhoto never forces you to upgrade - any upgrade of the software is initiated by you
    2 - what version of iPhoto did you have? What version did you upgrade to? What version of the OS do you have?
    3 - what exactly happens when you launch iPhoto?
    4 - with no backup it is just a matter of time until you lose all of yoru files including your photos - thing do happen and with no backup you are 100% guarenteed to lose everyhing sooner or later
    as a wild guess backup, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your iPhoto library database

    A different approach would be to:
    1.  Delete the contents of the library on the desktop Window 7 computer;
    2.  Turn off iTunes Match;
    3.  Copy the contents of the Music folder from the working Windows 7 computer to the desktop Music folder;
    4.  Import the new contents of the Desktop music folder into the library;
    5.  Close / restart the iTunes client and confirm that the library has all the Songs as anticipated;
    6.  Turn on the iTunes Match service and allow it to run to completion.
    This is a proven process on my Windows 7 computers and works very well.

    AirPrint is a feature built into the iOS. If the app that you are working in or using has the boxed curved arrow icon at the top - should allow you to print. However, in order to use AirPrint, you must have one of the AirPrint compatible printers.

    If you do not own one of these printers, there are a number of third party apps that will allow you to print using your current printer. You may need to download a helper app on your computer and leave your computer turned on in order to use them.

    Since last update , I can't see any thing any more, but I can hear sound and music, and I can see my mouse change to the arrow in order to clic. Windows 7, explorer 9, flash player 11.6, I follow your prost it in order to fix it with out  go result. What to do? I try to find a previous update for try, but I can't find it.

    You can always revert your system to how it was 2 days ago by reinstalling from your Time Machine Backup. Otherwise I would be having a read through the Yahoo Troubleshooting forums for people who may have a similar problem.

  • Several months ago I kept getting prompted to "update" my iphoto library.  I finally gave in and clicked on the update button and EVER SINCE THEN,  ALL of my photos have been 'grayed out' and I can't see ANY of them unless I click on the photo and open it

    Several months ago,  I kept getting prompted to 'update' my iphoto library.  When I finally clicked on the 'update' button,  it 'greyed out' ALL of my photos.  Now ALL of my photos are grayed out and I can't see ANY of my pictures unless I click on each grayed out photo individually and open them,  ALL of the thumbnails are greyed out.  It is THE WORST!!  I have no idea how to fix this problem and its been MONTHS AND MONTHS of *** pain.  Anyone??  Please help!!!
