Can't see Canon MX410 printer in network places

Hi,
I have a Canon MX410 series printer that is cabled to a desktop PC running Windows 7 and is shared by three laptops, two or which are also running Windows 7 and one of which is running Windows 8.1.
At some point, the printer and its attended functions (fax, etc) stopped showing up in Network Places. I also run Collobos Presto on the desktop, but my Ipads can no longer see the printer.
I deleted the printer and all Canon software from all machings and then tried reinstalling the printer on all each using the MX410 CD. I chose a full install for the desktop and a custom install - installing only the drivers - for each of the laptops, but to no evail.
This used to work in the past and I'm uncertain what changed.
Thanks,
s660117

  • WIFI on 2504. Users can't see any computers in "My network places".

Hello. I'm using 2504 CISCO controller and three AIR-CAP2602I-R-K9 access points. So I organized simple WIFI network with AES encryption. Users can easily connect to the proper SSID and after put a login have Internet access. But they just can't see any computers or shared folders on servers in "My Network Places". If I connect any workstation by wire I haven't this problem. So the issue appears only during WIFI access to the LAN.
Please advise, what can I change in 2504 settings.
    Thank you.

The WLC doesn't block this unless P2P blocking is enabled. The easiest way to test is to create an open SSID and map that WLAN to an existing wired Vlan. Doesn't tweak the WLAN except for making it wide open. Them associate your wireless client to that new SSID and see if they see the resources.
That is the configuration I was telling you about that you had a screen shot of. As long as that is disabled, you should be able to see the resources.

    Hi Crushed,
Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.

  • Two Macs can't see each other on same network

We have an iMac and a Mac Book Pro on the same apple network at home. The iMac can see and connect to the Pro and exchange files but the Pro can't see the iMac in Go > Network. All sharing settings are the same. Any thoughts welcomed.

How many machines are on your network? If you have over 7, then here should be an entry called "All..." in Shared in the Sidebar. Click on that. It will show you all the servers that are available on your network. You can also get to this list via Computer (Command-Shift-C) and click on Network.
Shared in the sidebar shows a max of 7 servers, with Back To My Mac's at the top (if any), then servers you have mounted share points on (if any), then the top 7 (in alphabetical order) servers in Network (a.k.a. "All...").
    Hope that helps.

  • My ipad can not see my wifi printer

my ipad can not see my wifi printer ????????

Is it an AirPrint enabled printer ? The supported models are listed on this page, and there is also a bit of troubleshooting at the bottom : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
If it's not an AirPrint model, then some manufacturers have their own apps in the iTunes app store, and there are also third-party apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with it.

  • Can't get canon LPB6300 printer to work on a second machine

    Hi
The printer I will refer to is reachable in my local network over ethernet and has a fixed IP address.
I got cups to work with my canon printer this afternoon on one of my machines. I searched the whole internet for howtos and I think the steps that finally got the thing working were the following:
    1. Install capt-src from aur
    2. Add myself to the lp group and relogin
    3. Connect the printer and restart cups
    3. Perform the following two commands:
    sudo lpadmin -p LBP6300 -m CNCUPSLBP6300CAPTK.ppd -v ccp://localhost:59687 -E
    sudo ccpdadmin -p LBP6300 -o net:192.168.1.2
    and the result is:
    sudo ccpdadmin -P
    CUPS_ConfigPath = /etc/cups/
    LOG Path = None
    UI Port = 59787
Entry Num : Spooler : Backend : FIFO path : Device Path : Status
    [0] : LBP6300 : ccp : //localhost:59687 : net:192.168.1.2 :
    4. Start ccpd daemon
These steps worked on one of my machines. I thought I could perform the same steps on another machine to get it to work but until now I had no success. I tried to print a test page but cups immediately changed the new job to "completed" without printing something out.
The packages installed on the archlinux systems are the same, at least the one i checked (-Qs cups, foomatic, dependencies from aur for capt-src).
    yaourt -Qs capt
    local/capt-src 2.50-9
Canon CAPT Printer Driver for Linux. Compiled from source code.
    yaourt -Qs cups
    extra/cups 1.6.1-6
The CUPS Printing System - daemon package
    extra/cups-filters 1.0.29-3
    OpenPrinting CUPS Filters
    extra/cups-pk-helper 0.2.4-1
A helper that makes system-config-printer use PolicyKit
    multilib/lib32-libcups 1.6.1-1
The CUPS Printing System - client libraries (32-bit)
    extra/libcups 1.6.1-6
The CUPS Printing System - client libraries and headers
    extra/pycups 1.9.62-1
    Python CUPS Bindings
    extra/system-config-printer 1.3.12-2
A CUPS printer configuration tool and status applet
    yaourt -Qs foomatic
    extra/foomatic-db 1:4.0.17_20120712-1
Foomatic - The collected knowledge about printers, drivers, and driver options in XML files, used by foomatic-db-engine to generate PPD files.
    extra/foomatic-filters 1:4.0.17_20120712-1
Foomatic - Filter scripts used by the printer spoolers to convert the incoming PostScript data into the printer's native format.
Before you post some links, I've already checked:

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CanonCaptDrv190
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Canon_LBP2900
I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.. Can anyone help?
    Cheers

Thanks for your link but i don't think it has something to do with relinking libraries since i never had to to that on my first machine. I'm currently pursuing a different approach: I'm comparing the files used by ccpd and cups on both machines with each other. These are the results:
On the machine with working capt service:
    http://pastebin.com/Fyif7zxz
    http://pastebin.com/n0KQj14z
On the machine with defect capt service:
    http://pastebin.com/rtUW5Gfm
    http://pastebin.com/vh94E3Jv
One thing that i noticed is the two libraries resolv and nss which are used on the defect machine. Could it be that?

  • Can't see fileserver or printer

I have a closed network configuration like this:
    R----Airport----Laptop
    O
    U----G5 Fileserver
    T
    E----Other computer
    R----Laser printer
...but I can't see the fileserver or laser printer from my laptop. Is there an easy fix to this or am I in over my head?

Thanks, Garrett, but mreckhof fixed my problem which I also posted on the Leopard "Getting Online and Networking" forum.
As it turns out, the spaces in the mdns name was the problem. I renamed it without spaces and it worked.

It's a weird bug for sure. It didn't affect any of the Tiger users, only us Leopard users. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

  • Wrt160n can not see it as an available network

I just purchased the WRT160N and followed the setup and was able to connect to the internet with a wired connection. I started my laptop to connect wireless and could not find it as an available network but could see others in the area. I spent 2 hours on the support line with 2 different people and still can not see it or use it wireless. Any ideas?

You need to adjust the wireless settings/parameters of your router...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab-
-Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...
    - And wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on save settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...
Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters) and click on save settings...
Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network.
    Click on Advanced Wireless-
settings>>Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation...
Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2307 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Wait for a minute, Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • I can't see adobe pdf printer

    Hi,
I've recently installed the CC on my iMac at work, including Adobe Acrobat Pro. When I go to (i.e.) Illustrator > file > print I can't see in the drop down menu the 'Adobe pdf' option to virtually print my files. Every software is updated to its latest version, including my operating system (OS X 10.9.5). I tried to look up in several websites and forums to see if I have to do something specific to get access to the adobe virtual printer (I never had to do anything like that because it's always been automatic after installing Adobe Acrobat Pro) but I couldn't find any help. Does anybody have some advice? Thank you in advance.

That's too bad. I have an old illustrator file with 18 layers, one for each page of a calendar. That option was good to create an originalĀ  layered file directly in illustrator and then saving individual pages with theĀ  'save visible and printable layers' option selected. Now if I choose 'save as pdf' there is no way to turn off unwanted layers and the resulting pdf is a fuzzy mix of all 18 layers

  • Can't see windows shared printer

    Hi,
Just joined a small company that is all windows based. So if I want to keep using my Mac, I need to resolve a couple important issues. One of them is printing to the office printers. The office is set up to use a PC running windows 2000 connected to the printers in question. The printers are all shared by this PC and everyone accesses them through.
The problem I am having is that when I go through the printer utility and select more printers, I can find and connect to the designated PC for printing. However, after connecting to it, there are no printers visible to select for setting up.
The printers that are highest on my list are an HP1300 and HP5000. I believe the HP1300 is connected via USB.
I saw the post mentioning potential problems with the drivers and to get hpijs.
But is that the reason I can't even see the shared printers?

    drmoque wrote:
...But is that the reason I can't even see the shared printers?
No. While you will need the hpijs, Foomatic RIP and Ghostscript software to print to the USB shared printer, they are not needed to see the shared printer.
When you opened (double-clicked) the Windows 2000 print server, were you prompted to authenticate? If you didn't authenticate, then this could explain why the shared printers are not being displayed, as you are probably connecting as a guest and this account has no access to the printers. You will need to ask for an account to use, or have one created for you so that you can see the printers.
The other thing you may need to check is if the 2000 PC is part of a domain rather than a workgroup. If it is a domain, then the account name that you use to authenticate to it has to include the domain name, such as domain\accountname.

  • Wireless Internet works but Macs can't see each other on same network.

    First: Ahh!
Second: I have an iMac & and MacBook connected to the same Wifi connection at home. I'm using the Belkin F5D8235-4 v2000 with Firmware 2.01.08. The most up to date firmware and Mac compatible. Both have IP addresses within this range 192.168.2.random number. Both have "File Sharing", "Remote Login" and "Remote Management" check off. Both always see the Belkin n+ under shared items (the Belkin +n has a memory stick attached to it). Here's the kicker...when I restart for a few minutes I can see both computers under Network and Shared. Then poof, it's gone. As I write this my MacBook can see my iMac but my iMac is Stevey Wonder, not a thing in sight.
Why won't my iMac and Macbook play nice? Are iMac's rasist? Not implying Stevey Wonder is rasist. Wow, back call on my part.
Ohh, one more thing (feels good to use that line in a Mac forum). I have installed Windows 7 on both computers, it problem also happens in windows too. I'll bring that to another forum, just thought you should know.
If you need more details or want to know what kind of sandwich I'm making just write below. It's ham. Help me please.
Third: Ahh! This is the best sandwich ever.
