Can't see content of external FW HD

Hello,
I have a 75Gig external HD attached to my server on macOS10.2
Lately I can't see the content and file structure of this drive, even though it tells me there's only 3 gig left.
Of course, I didn't trash anything on it.
I tried removing it from that server and connecting it to another without success.
What can I do?

I'm having the same issues. Random folders throughout the server are not displaying their content. I can see the contents of these folders in Tiger, just not leopard.
I'm connecting to a Windows 2003 Server with Service Pack 2 using SMB, not AFP like Taliesin above.

Have 2 email accounts currently (yahoo and gmail), and use smart rules to move my email to them for organization automatically, issue is then I cannot see them on my iPhone mail, they are there, then "gone" when moved to the iMac folder.

I don't see any evidence of an iCloud account there - do you actually have an @icloud.com address? iCloud syncs only its own email, it has no relationship to any other service.
However, if both your Mac and your iPhone are receiving, for example, Gmail, and you move a message on your Mac from the Gmail mailbos to a mailbox in the list under 'On My Mac' then this removes it from the GMail mailbox and as it's only on the Mac the iPhone cannot see it. In order to do what you want you have to create any new mailboxes on the GMail account itself and move the messages there.

Can't see content in AirPort Disks

I have three LaCie drives connected to my TC via a USB hub. The drives mount OK but I can not see any contents (0 items) though the space available is correct. I suspect this is an issue with permissions but am not sure what permissions I need to change. Using AirPort Utility, under the Disks tab>File Sharing I have enabled file sharing with Secure Shared Disks set to "With Accounts".
If I select one of the drives and do a Get Info the owner is system (read and write), Group is wheel (read and write) and Others read and write. I have tried applying the permissions to enclosed items but this does not reveal the contents....
Any ideas??

As a follow up, I can copy files onto the AirPort Disks so I guess the problem is that the files on these drives are not recognised as belonging to me (I guess external drives do not normally have specific owners). I guess that I will have to connect each drive to my machine directly and change the owner to my name, will this resolve the issue?? The negative of this would be that no one else would be able to connect.
My assumption in all of this is that AirPort Disks are only useful if you start off with an empty drive.

MacBook does not see content on external hard disk

I copied my user directory from my PowerBook to an external hard disk. Now i have a MacBook instead and it cannot see my files. I can however see files from another user. If I look at the filesize and how much is in use, then I can see that there is more on the external hard disk. It also says I have the right to read and write.
What should I do?

If you can see the home folder on the external disk and it has a red circle on its icon, drag the folder to your desktop and type in your administrator password when prompted.
If you cannot see the home folder in the external disk but know where it is, navigate to the enclosing folder, choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, and enter the folder's name as the path.
If you cannot see the home folder and don't know where it is on the hard disk, copy and paste the script posted here into the Script Editor in your /Applications/AppleScript/ folder, run the script to show the invisible items on the disk, locate it, and do what you want with the contents.

Can't see contents of USB hard drive connected to Time Capsule

Hi. I have a USB hard drive connected to my Time Capsule (which I just got today). I just want to use it as a shared drive, so that the users in my home can use it to access common files (media files, stuff like that).
The TC's set up is to enable file sharing with accounts. AirPort Disk Guest Access is not allowed.
When I authenticate as a user via Finder I can see the disk, see that disk space has been used, but can't see the contents. I'm guessing this is because the files that are actually on there belong to some other user.
Is my guess right? Any suggestions as to how we can all use it as a transfer drive?

Fixed it. I connected the USB drive directly to my computer, and dragged the folder into the 'Shared' folder, which Time Capsule had created. The original folder is now visible, which is what I wanted!

Since software update, can't see contents of iPod when connected to iTunes

About 2 days ago, when I connected my iPod to my pc (iTunes), it said there were some software updates for my iPod so I downloaded them and the iPod rebooted itself. Once it came back up, my iPod showed up in iTunes under "devices" on the left hand sidebar. I got the registration page - I usually click register later, but nothing happened this time. It didn't bring me into my iPod. So I tried to Register. I could get so far, then it asked if I wanted some free movie or something, I said NO THANKS, CONTINUE, but nothing happened. I wasn't registered AND I couldn't access my iPod. I can see my iPod under My Computer. I can see "sandra's iPod" uder devices in iTunes. BUT, I can't get to the content when connected to iTunes. All of my stuff is there on the iPod. I can play my iPod when it's not connected to iTunes - but I can't see the content, manipulate playlists, delete songs, etc. when connected to iTunes. I am almost positive this is a result of the latest software updates to the iPod. I have not updated iTunes - I didn't want to and compound the problem. I'm not a techy person - so please be gentle! Sorry, I was confused. Actually I see in the laptop Internal Storage and SD card. I thought that what I was seeing was the phone memory and the phone's internal storage memory. I thought I had to see three folders. Now I know that the phone memory is not seen in the laptop.
It also confuses me that in Astro File are the following memories with different names: ext_card, sdcard, sdcard1, sdcard0. I have come to the conclusion that ext_card= sdcard1(external memory) and sdcard=sdcard0 (internal memory), but I don't know because in Astro these memories have these names, and are repeated.

Can't see anything in external drive after renaming a folder

Hi all,
I can't see anything on my external drive after renaming a folder. I have the drive set up as a Windows drive with access through the volumes folder (I had to transfer large amount of files from a PC and have it be readable on my MacBook Air); I read a FAQ to set it up a few months ago and it has been working fine since then. I saw the same issue come up with a PC HD on a PC, but the solution was for a PC. I don't see anything else like that in the support community (or if it's there, then I'm not searching for it the right way). There is no partition on the drive and it still shows as having the same amount of data written on the drive as before the accident.

If you upgrade the your router, it would be the firmware that will be upgraded. For more information regarding upgrading the firmware, try this link.
For your external drive, you might need to map the drive again with a different name.

My Mac Can't See Files on External Hard Drive

Hi,
I'm having some trouble with my iMac today. It can't see any files on my NTFS External Hard Drive after a sharing change, I'm using Paragon NTFS for Mac OSX v8.0.0.
Yesterday evening I tried to share the drive over my network by clicking System Preferences / Sharing / File Sharing and then adding the drive as a shared folder. It is since doing this that I cannot see my files on this external HD. I have a second NTFS HD here which I connected and I can see the files on that drive so I don't think it's a software issue.
I have tried a few things to try and fix it but to no avail.
1. I have tried removing it from the shared folder list but that hasn't solved the problem. I tried adding it a second time just in case but that didn't do anything either.
2. I have repaired the disk permissions via disk utility
3. I have tried "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder" to show hidden files but they still don't appear. I have reversed this so hidden files are no longer visible.
If I connect the drive to my Windows 7 laptop I can see and access all of the files.
I hope someone can help out with this issue. If you need any other information just let me know.

I had the same problem but only after I upgraded to Lion. I could see the files on my external drive on other Macs using older software. It seems that Lion wasn't seeing old files on the external drive. So we accessed the files on a Mac using Snow Leopard, copied all the files into one new folder on the same external hard drive and now they're there on Lion. Problem solved! I hope this helps

Boot Camp with Win 8 Can't See The USB External Drive [MBR with NTFS, Fat32, HFS Partitions]

Hi. When I boot to Boot Camp with the latest Apple Windows Support drivers can't see my USB Flash Drive, DVD and OS X volumes but not my USB external drive that has an MBR partition scheme (using iPartition from GUID) and in there it has different volumes [HFS when I boot to Snow Leopard, Fat32, NTFS]. What can I do with Boot Camp to make it see my USB external drive and why isn't it seeing the USB when it can see the USB flash drive both use USB?

Can't see timeline on external monitor?

This may end up being something painfully obvious that I missed - in that case, sorry in advance. =)
I can't see the timeline. The setup is as follows: Firewire DV to camera>Svideo out of camera to external monitor.
AV settings: device control preset firewire ntsc, video playback Apple Firewire NTSC. AV Devices: Apple Firewire NTSC (mirror on desktop).
Under view menu: External video> all frames
Video playback: Apple Firewire NTSC.
The camera is in VCR mode. I can control it from the log and capture window, so all connections are working. But the timeline will not show.
When the camera is in camera mode, I can see the number display on my external monitor.
Any idea where the problem lies here?

How can I see content on web sites that require adobe flash player?

We installed a web tv from our clinic but it requires adobe flash player, how can I see this stuff?

Despite what has been said, there is no Flash player for iOS devices.

There are some browsers like Skyfire that can play some Flash content, but performance varies so try different apps to see if any can display the sites you go to...but don't expect greatness.

Can't see files on external drive

I have been FTPing files using Filezilla from my server to external driver. I can not see the specific files or folder (call it foo) on my hard drive using Finder).
I initially thought that the files did not transfer, so tried again. Filezilla though keeps on seeing the files and of course asks Do I want to overwrite them?" So how do I change my settings to actually see those files. Note, I have changed my preferences to "see all files."

Oh boy. Excuse me for my mistake. Yes I am in the wrong place. I have my 250Gig Westernal digital hard drive connected to my macbook pro.
Yeah it's weird. But as I said, Fileziller seems to see it and I have a test site running on one host's server that is fine. When I went FTP the files (they are drupal). Everything comes over except my one folder where all my images are.
So do you want me to post this in the leopard forum?

On the cell layer, you can do
CellCLI> list flashcachecontentThat returns several info about the flashcached objects, amongst others the objectnumber that you can retrieve on the Database Layer with DBA_OBJECTS (object_id there).
AFAIK, there is no direct view on the Database Layer for that.

Have AirPort Utility ver 6.1. Can't see printers or external hard drives. I could in earlier version. What gives?

With Airport Utility ver 6.1 can't see printers or hard drives. Dont' even see where to go for those screens. Was much easier in earlier versions. Question: How do I setup ext hard drives and printers in ver 6.1?

You don't need to "see" the printer for it to operate correctly using AirPort Utilty 6.1. If the printer was previously installed, it should continue to operate correctly. If you have a new printer, just install the device according to the manufacturers's instructions.
As far as being able to "see" a disk in AirPort Utility 6.1. Try the following:
Open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort device, then click Edit in the next box that appears.
Click the Disks tab at the top of the setup window.
