Can't see 'Event' titles

This may be a silly question, but is there any way to change the text colour of 'events' titles? They are the same colour as the background and can't be seen. I can't believe that it's the way apple intended so I must be missing something. I can't seem to change the background colour or the text colour.
Any help would be appreciated as I don't need to know the dates of the photos (that show in white when the mouse is over) but the event title would be a plus.
Thanks.

I suspect you might be right (although I would have expected that the lack of the option would have meant publication of more of the data rather than less). I'm afraid I don't have systems with either of those versions to be able to delve any deeper.
What you don't mention, and might be worth a shot is:
stop publishing the source, delete the subscription and start over.

  • Can't see event titles or project titles when looking at photos in the photo view in Aperture 3?

    Howdy,
I recently switched from iPhoto 11 to Aperture 3. The only drawback so far is I am unable to view Project Titles when I am viewing all of my photos in the photo view. In iPhoto, I often would look at all of my photos in photo view while displaying the event titles. Is this possible in Aperture? Also, is there a simple way to view the file names underneath the photos in photo view instead of seeing the version name?

Hi Greg.  Welcome to Aperture and the Apple Aperture users forum.

You should set up all seven of the Metadata Overlays to meet your needs.  (iPhoto is designed as a turn-key operation for those who prefer their meals prepared; Aperture is a kitchen for those who like to cook.)

Have you looked at Projects View (click "Projects" at the top of the Library tab of the Inspector)?  You can group your Projects by Folder or by Year, and you can sort them in a number of ways.  There is no information pane which shows up on Aperture as you scroll (as there is in iPhoto).
Projects View, imho, add tremendous functionality to Aperture.  You can add descriptions to your Projects (and these are included in searches) via the Projects Information window ("{Shift}+i" with a Project selected.)

  • Can't see event titles in subscribed calendar

My wife publishes an iCal calendar from iCal at home, and I subscribe to it in iCal my laptop. I've done this for years, thus improving marital harmony, but a couple of months ago I stopped being able to see the titles of the events. My laptop calendar still gets updated event entries on specific days and times, but nothing has a title.
At home, I tried copying and renaming the calendar, then subscribing to the new one, and it didn't work.
I'm running iCal 2.0.5 on my 10.4.11 laptop, and we've got an older system at home.
Any thoughts on how to fix? Thanks.

  • Can't see Video titles in ipod

    Hello,
I put some home videos on new ipod. I named them, but when i use the ipod the videos play, but i can't see the titles. How do I need to name the files?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, only TV Shows bought directly from the iTunes Music Store will show up as TV Shows on your iPod (by default). You'll have to leave your videos labeled as Movies, if you want them to show up on your iPod. Sorry.

This is what you need to do.

    No idea what this means?

  • How can i see events in iPhoto in list form?

I just got an iMac and have imported all my photos from my PC to iPhoto. Now I want to view the "events" in a list form, but can't see how to do that and can't find any info in Help or the user interface. Anyone know how to do this?

Go to the Photos mode and in View enable Event Titles:
Then you'll get this type of list:
To open or close all events at one time Option-click on the triangle at the beginning of the Event title.

  • IMovie 11 can't "see" events library on external drive

I can't reconnect iMovie with my Events Folder. I was successfully using iMovie 11 with the Events and Projects foldersstored on an external drive (for space reasons.) Then I slipped up trying to back up the Events library in Dropbox (I forgot to hold down the Alt. key to make it copy, instead of moving the folder.) I immediately shifted it back and cancelled the operation. But now iMovie can't "see" the Events library and I get the little yellow triangle on the projects showing it can't locate the source files.
I'm using the blue iMovie browser setting that shows all files and I can see, and access, the Events folder on the external drive through the Mac Finder. The Events folder is sitting on the top level of my external drive. I've tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I dont have any answers for you, but I do have the same problem as you on my brand new mac, which is using an iPhoto library from my old Mac. I have tried rebuilding the iPhoto database but it doesnt help.  iMovie is getting stuck on trying to create the thumbnails from iPhoto.  It says "the movie file "clipXXXXX cannot be found, without this file, the movie cannot play properly. "  Even though that file exists in the iPhoto library masters folder.  It offers to allow me to cancel or seach, and when I search to it, the iPhoto library is grayed out as an option to search in.  I also tried to manually move the file out of the iPhoto library to the Movies directory, but that doesnt help either.

  • I can't see Event Library - Only All Events

I've just started using iMovie 10.0.5 and I'm stumped by its seeming inability to import video clips where I want them. I think I have worked out that you need to import video clips (from my hard drive) to Events before you start out to create a new movie. I have done this but I can't see the individual clips, only one window which seems to contain all the clips I have imported. I see this window when I click on All Events. The various instructions I have found online tell me I need to go into the Event Library, but this doesn't show up in my iMove Browser window. One instruction says if you can't see the individual events click on Event Library. But there is no Event Library in my list of libraries. I'm getting very frustrated. iMovie used to be so easy!

Here is a screen shot of what my browser looks like:

When I 'fan' out my downloads folder I can see the title bars ie. the background but not the actual wording? Any answers would be extremely helpful.

Affects the readability of titles of movies in the video app? Home made movies have black titles, my downloaded one has nothing but the dvd cover.

  • Can't see events from multiple months

I use iCal to track staff's vacation/sick/etc. days. Each employee has his/her own calendar and all events listed on the calender relate to that person (i.e. on "Emily"'s calendar is emily OUT/emily SICK). Until recently, when I typed "Emily" in the search field, all events with that name (be it sick/out/review) came up in the results box. Now when I type "Emily," an event or two may pop up in the box, but I cannot even determine how it is selecting these dates as they are not specific to the calendar view on my screen.
Do you have advice on how I may view all events that have a specific name OR simply all events in an individual calendar in the search results box?
    thanks!

Did you follow Dancin' Brook's reply about checking the appropriate calendar? If you do that then all you should see are all events for that calendar ... although they wouldn't appear in the search box.
Have you tried things like deleting iCal preferences (actually renaming them - as a test - rather than deleting them)?
I also note the follow info in iCal help ... perhaps it applies:
After updating to Mac OS X 10.4.2, you may not be able to find iCal 2.0.2 events that were created prior to updating when using the search function in iCal.
When you search for a particular event in iCal, iCal won't display the event in its search results, but you can find the event by browsing to the appropriate day in an iCal calendar or by using Spotlight.
    Solution
From the iCal File menu, choose Backup Database.
    Quit iCal.
    Navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources.
Open each folder in the Sources folder and remove the file named "Index."
Open iCal; it will re-index your events.

  • HT5557 Is it possible to display the title of the book or PDF when viewing them in the library? I can only see a title if my PDF's first page contains the title.

I would like to be able to display the title of the PDF or book while in library mode. In iTunes, you can click and hold on the song to get the full title information. I would like to see the same feature in iBooks if it doesn't already exist.

You can omit the title altogether in the URL (together with the succeeding slash, of course). For example, my own podcast URL in the Store is
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-sound-of-78s/id166389425?mt=2
    but this works perfectly well:
    https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/id166389425
Indeed you can even put your own title:
    https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/any_old_title/id166389425
So it's as simple as that!

  • How can I see "Events" in a LIST - NOT in icons?

Could someone please tell me (step by step, inch by inch) EXACTLY how I can see all of the "Events" in Iphoto '11 as a LIST...with no icons, no "Key Photos," no scrolling through 600 different pictures to try to find the EXACT event I want by DATE that I want on the event - NOT the date that the photo was taken...A LIST:
2011-12 Go to Store (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHING ELSE IN IT)
2010-08 In Thailand (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHING ELSE IN IT)
2005-05 In Mexico (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHING ELSE IN IT)
1983-01 Buy First Computer (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHINGELSE IN IT)
600 MORE OF THESE LINES, BY DATE, AND MY DESCRIPTION, WITH NOTHING ELSE.  PERIOD.
I USED to be able to do this in IPhoto, but since upgrading, it seems to be impossible.  It is EXTREMELY difficult to find the photos I want when dealing with Icons no matter WHAT their size.
Along with "faces" - which I neither need, nor want, nor seem to be able to get rid of, this is the most irritating aspect of Iphoto.  But of course, it's possible that, having spent a week reading the entire manual page by page, and searching every known corner of the Internet - I simply am not smart enough to find the correct answer to this question.  OKAY.  I can admit my limtiations.
    Thanks!

Like the original poster, I'd like to view events as a simple list. A solution is given in this thread but it does not completely provide what I would like.
I would additionally like to have the option to sort the collapsed list of events. Specifically, I would like options to choose sort alphabetically or by date, ascending or descending. The collapsed events list in the photos view seems to be hardwired to display events chronologically.
I am aware that in events view, event tiles can be sorted in the way that I want. However, it is the simple, collapsed list of events that I would like to sort.
Are there any 3rd party iPhoto companion apps that can read my iPhoto library and give me a more controllable view of my events list?

  • I Can't see events pics.

Hi, everyone. Please tell me what to do. When I select "Events", up in left iPhoto menu, all events are displayed, and if I move mouse right-left over one event, all photos appears as thumbs, but when I double click one event, next screen shows no pics, although in the up-right corner the number of pics of that event is shown with right arrow enabled. I click the right arrow, and it gets disabled an "no photos" appears. At the same time, when I open one event from the "event" screen, in the left menu, the selected event is added to "recents", and if I select the event from this part of the menu, I can see all pics. This happens in mi iMac but not in my Mac Book Pro Retina, where all photos of every event are correctly displayed when I double click from the "event" main screen. Why is this happening?

    The version is iPhoto 11, 9.4.3 (720.91). Mac OS X 10.7.5 (11G63).
It's correct what you say. For example, I have 96 events. I click "events" and one pic of each of them appears, so I see 96 pics. If I move the cursor over one of those events, without clicking, the photos included in that event are displayed replacing the principal pic of that event. But when I want to select one event, I double click and the next screen has no pics (all grey), and in the upper edge appears, on the left, "all events" (inside a left arrow); at the centre, the event name with the dates, and, at the right corner, the total number of pics (although no photo is displayed) an the left and right arrows. If I click one of these arrows, then the total number changes from the real and correct number of pics to "without photos", like if the event is empty.
But, at the time I double clicked one event, immediatly the selected event name appears in the "recent" menu at the left, and if I click the event from this source (where the palm tree icon is), all the photos of that event are displayed so I can watch or edit them.
This pic shows the event screen.
This is the screen when I double clicked the fifth event in the upper row from left to right. Note that "192 photos" appear in the upper right corner. The event name was added in "recents". If I click the left-right arrows (right upper corner), "without photos" appears instead of "192".
This is the sreen when I selected the event from "recent" (see left column). The 192 pics appear.

  • I have upgraded to version 11 & can't see events

I knew that the tagging in my PSE 10 catalogue was very poor because most tags had been listed as having been 'imported'.  Before I installed version 11 I decided to try to fix the problem so that I would not have a huge problem doing so in a layout that was unfamiliar to me.
I got all of my old imported tags moved to People,Places or Events.  I then deleted the corresponding imported tags from which I had deleted the no longer relevant tag.  I then wrote the tag info directly to each photo for everything.  I then saved the catalog.
I installed version 11 & then had the program update the catalog to 11.  After some searching I can see all of the 'people' that I had tagged as well as the 'places' that I had tagged.  Bit when I clicked on 'Events' I see nothing at all.  Whats wrong?  Can I fix this?  I haven't deleted version 10 or altered any pictures in11 other than having some getting smart tags.  I can go back if necessary.
    Thanks in avance

Since I didn't get an answer I thought that I could go back to the Version 10 (named My Catalog (2) open it then select all pictures including those tags with events & then re write the data directly to each file.  This I did.
I then went to Version 11 & opened it.  Before I did anything it said that it was updating & then told me it had found 'imported tags', listed the tag names so I took a punt, selected all & pressed OK.  I saw the list of 'imported' tags list.  I then clicked each media group in turn,Media,People,Places & Events.  Not one picture has been displayed.  Whats going on?
