Can't See Global Secuirty Settings

When I go to

I can't see the Global Security Settings, it says I need
Flash Installed, (Flash 8 is installed), I go ahead and click to
reinstall flash 8, go back here and STILL, even after rebooting, it
still will now let me see the Global Security Settings, it says
Flash needs to be installed,
Help quick!!! I have a deadline approaching and need to test
my app.

Some Flash Player users are seeing what is basically a
failure in Flash
Player detection caused by an obscure Microsoft permissions
bug. We
updated the Flash Player uninstaller two weeks ago to
hopefully resolve
this type of situation. Please do the following and report
back what
happens:
1. Read " How to uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player
plug-in and
ActiveX control" (
http://www.macromedia.com/go/tn_14157)
2. Download the 'regular' uninstaller in that technote to
your desktop
(uninstall_flash_player.exe). Do NOT run it from the server.
Save it to
disk.
3. QUIT ALL RUNNING APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING ALL INTERNET
EXPLORER
WINDOWS AND AIM, Yahoo, MSN or other MESSENGERS.
4. Run the saved uninstaller (uninstall_flash_player.exe)
from your desktop
5. REBOOT THE MACHINE (This step is very important!)
6. Launch Internet Explorer.
7. Go to
http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer
and reinstall.
I cannot guarantee that just this will completely resolve the
issue. But
we keep working at it, so let me know what happens either
way.

  • HT1551 Apple TV - can only see Computers and Settings options (no internet)

    sine the apple2 tv software was updated last week I can only see options for computers and settings
    whilst my internet connection is clearly working, I cannot access youtube or internet radio as there is no internet option
    any ideas how to fix this pls?

    My ATV3 has worked beautifully for the last week.  We woke up this morning to find this problem. Nothing weird happened over night - my entire network has been up all night with no resets or anything strange.
    The ATV3 accessing all of my Home Sharing content, so I know the network is fine (wired). Tried resetting and cycling power.  Tried changing locations/setting language.  Nothing. I even tried resetting my DSL Router, but to no avail.
    I've got nothing fancy going on with my location, short of being in Canada.
    Update: Oh, and I have a 2nd ATV3 downstairs, also on a wired connection.  Just found out that it, too, is exhibiting the same error.  Although, I'd left it in 'iTunes Match' last night and the first thing I saw when I started it up was "Error:  iTunes is Unavailable. Please try again later".  Plugged my old Popcorn Hour in and it, at least, is working fine.

  • Smartform global forms can't see global data?

    I'm trying to create a global smartform however for some reason you can't see the global data which doesn't sound right. Am I doing something wrong or is this actually what is supposed to happen.

    For each smartform a function module is created. You can see it in 'Environment / Function module name'. In this function module you can not see the global data of other function groups.
    Maybe you can pass the required data to the smartform when calling it by defining some input parameters in the form interface.

  • Labview can't see global channels

    This is the first time I have used DAQmx, so apologies if I'm doing something really stupid...
    I'm using a PCI-6221. I have configured a number of global virtual channels. However, when I try to access any of them in Labview, they are not there.
    If I use Get Channel Information.vi, it always returns error -10003. If I try AI Acquire Waveform.vi, running it as a stand-alone vi, when I click on the channel input selector and choose Browse, I see "Select Names", and an empty listbox.
    This is a brand new install of Labview 7.1. I'm using Nidaq 7, version 7.4, installed from CD this morning.

    I shall quickly swoop in with a possible solution before you go buying more hardware...
    It's possible to simulate devices with NI-DAQmx. This will allow you to support your customer without having to buy another M Series. See, we aren't just after you're money
    To simulate a device, right click on NI DAQmx Devices >> Create New NI-DAQmx Device >> NI DAQmx Simulated device. Then choose the device you need from the list.
    You can interact with this the same way as you would with a real piece of hardware, you just won't be able to acquire any real signals. It will allow you to start programming without any hardware though.
    In NI's defense, the reason for moving from NI-DAQ to NI-DAQmx was purely a performance upgrade. The DAQmx API is much more user friendly and I'm sure you'll have no problems learning to program in it.

    If you mean you mean you need to change the iCloud ID, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I see the photo quality settings in iLife'06 books

    I assembled a 100 page book using iLife'05 over the last week or so. Luckily I hadn't ordered the book before learning about the new "improved print quality" when using iLife'06.
    Well, iLife'06 finally arrived today and I installed it and... Well, do I need to scrap my old book or can I just go ahead and order through iLife'06 and get that new great quality?
    While still running iLife'05 I printed my book to a PDF file and the file size for the PDF is 150.4MB.
    I then installed iLife'06 and printed the same book to another PDF file and the size of the file was ONLY 57.4MB. Almost a third the size. If anything I was expecting the PDF file to be much larger (double?).
    I even did a side by side comparison of the two PDF files using Preview and I've got to say that the '05 version was better than the '06. This makes sense since the file size is much larger in the '05 I would expect the image quality to be better.
    So, now I'm worried. How can I see what the settings are and how can I tell what I'll get when I'm going to order a book?

    The Print to PDF file is not exactly the same as the one iPhoto creates for uploading and printing. Here's how to get the iPhoto version. It involves going thru the ordering process until the book is assembled and then finding and copying the pdf file to the desktop and then canceling the ordering process.
    How to Find the iPhoto Generated PDF File:
    1 - Start the ordering process and stop after the book has been assembled and you get to the Order pane where you select the cover color, copies, etc.
    2 - Go to the Finder and select the Go->Go to Folder menu item (CommandShiftG).
    3 - copy the following, “/private/var/tmp/folders.501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto” (for Panther the path is "/private/tmp/501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto“), and paste into the Go to Folder search box.
    4 - the iPhoto folder will be brought up. In it will be the PDF file that was generated by iPhoto. You can copy it (Option-drag) to the Desktop to review and/or save.
    Note: the iPhoto folder will not exist before you start the ordering process and is deleted after the order is completed or after you cancel the order and quit iPhoto.

    The BeehiveOnline Tutorial on slide 7 shows that Workspaces are created within a Group.
    Also the Group Administration screen suggests this as I can indicate that user ABC gets the role 'Workspace Creator' in one Group but same user ABC does not get the role 'Workspace Creator' in another Group. (what else is the purpose of this role within Group Administration)
    But when I created my workspace, the system did not ask in which Group I wanted it to be created, neither can I see in the Settings of the new Workspace to which Group it belongs.
    Can you please help ?

    Peter,
    Workspaces and groups can be confusing - apologies that it was not clear.
    Perhaps some background as to why I described it that way may help.
    BeehiveOnline relies on groups to be self-sufficient - if you are in one group your world of available participants is that group and that group alone. So if you want to create a new workspace and add users they can only be drawn from that group. - hence the workspaces within a group setup. However, if you are in multiple groups then the linkage gets broken as you could add members to a workspace from different groups - if you needed many group to share a repository of read-only info for instance. This is in wide use on BeehiveOnline. Read and Write access is more of a problem as if anyone updates a document or creates one their id will be attached to it and if they are in a group you as a workspace member cannot see it will cause confusion.
    So workspaces are only group restricted if there is only one group. If you have multiple groups you have more scope but have to exercise more care.
    Hope that explains it.

    I found the culprit, a firefox add-ons that consider the Global Settings Manager as an adv.
    May I ask you here another issue that I have with Flash while viewing movies ?

    thank you for the help.  I should have said I had a iphone 3.  A friend has the same phone and she showed me how she can see what web pages are open when she double taps the home button.  Mine is set to bring up favourites when I double tap (chosen from settings>general>home button).. BUT my choices are only HOME; SEARCH; PHONE FAVORITES; CAMERA or IPOD.  I changed my choice to HOME but that just defeats the purpose as when I am at the home page and double tap nothing happens.  Am I making sense?

    Is it possible to see what iDVD did?

    I don't know any way you can interrogate iDVD to reveal settings to the extent that you can in a Compressor project. What you could do is open up the show's VOB in MPEG STreamclip, go to File and Reveal Stream Information; that will at least give you some rudimentary info like average bit rate. Perhaps someone, with more iDVD experience, can chime in here.
    The broader question is why use Compressor at all if your current workflow is doing the job to your satisfaction?
    The value of Compressor is that it gives you control over the many parameters that affect size quality.  and playability. The Compressor presets can give you a starting point for DVD delivery, Web, etc. From those presets, people typically experiment by adjusting the parameters until they get the desired results for their specific show. It's a little bit science and a little bit art. After experimenting, you may be able to get slightly better quality for the project you've successfully burned in iDVD by using Compressor and something likeToast…or maybe not.

    the settings are gone, i guess. But even worse, I cannot get the iPad2 to play Full HD thru the Apple digital AV adaptor using apps that support  (and advertise this), like AVPlayer HD. This definiteley used to work before one of the last iOS upgrades. (I am now at 5.1.1).

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
    You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
    If you are still having problems try a restore.

    Are these music videos located under Videos on your iPod?  Do it play other regular movies (if you have any on the device)?

    certainly not, it was a very simple day schedule. After a lot of mucking around i found if i uploaded the build to testflightapp.com i could change the mobile provisioning from developer to adhoc and then i could upload it on to my ipad. it also exposed the weakness of using DPS and not going through xcode as i think i needed to tell my ipad that it was a development pad. quite a lot to take in over a couple of days but i managed to get it out using the testflight but would still like to get a way through i tunes.
