Can't see IPAD on My Computer on PC

I have just purchased an Ipad-2. I am really a Microsoft PC type user not an Apple user! (Sorry). I have connected my ipad-2 via USB (the lead supplied) to my PC. It knows that the ipad-2 has been connected as it gives an audio signal. The driver is loaded for if I go to the Device Manager and Universal Serial Bus Control at the top of the list is Apple Mobile USB Driver. It is version 6.0.999.65 by Apple Inc. So I should see the Ipad-2 on My Computer but I don't!
I am really trying to transfer some of my Home Photographs to the ipad-2. Would be happy to go via the iTunes store route but that doesn't seem very straight forward! I put a folder for photographs in my user area and tried to see the folder on Add a Folder on iTunes but not sure what I am doing?? So would welcome some help. Is there a User Guide for iPad-2 particularly with regard to transfering stuff to it like photo's videos that may not be iTunes purcahsed. It would be so much easier if I could see the folders on the ipad-2 and drag the files from a folder on the PC. I know one is Microsoft and the other is Apple but surely they can work together!

pretty sure even if it show up as a camera in my computer you can only copy pictures from it not to it
to do that I believe you need to sync with itunes
it's not a windows thing the same thing holds true with macs

Hi I setup my ipad 2 on a mac at work when I got it, now I cannot use this computer and I have a pc at home. I want to setup my ipad at home on the pc so I can transfer movies onto my ipad. Is it possible to do this? If so would it mean losing things like downloaded apps and doc in Izipp app? I have plugged in my ipad to my pc at home but its not showing the device in iTunes?

REMAINING SETTINGS TO OFF
CONNECT TO TV SCART OR RED,WHITE YELLOW SOCKETS WITH IPOD/TV LEAD AND AWAY YOU GO.

You should be able to:
Disable automatic syncing of devices (Edit > Preferences > Devices)
Backup the device to the new installation (Right-click device > Back Up)
Transfer your purchases into your authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in the apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

I can't see iPad icon under device in my itune in my desktop computer

In preparation to upgrade my iPad software, i ave been advice to use the iTunes facility on my desktop
On connecting my iPad using the provided cable, iPad icon is not shown under device.
Pls advice
How can I backup my iPad.

Mac Book Pro can't see Window's 7 computer on network

I have a MAC Book Pro on my network which I am able to see from my Windows 7 computer as well as access and send files, but I can't get my Mac to see my Windows 7 computer at all.
I have set up sharing in W-7 and have identified folders to share.
What am I missing

Can't see files on one computer

This isn't a linksys issue, but likley one with my old computer.
On my new one, connected to a WRT54GC I'm running XP Home, I can see the old computer, but can't access it. On the old one, also running XP home and connected with a wireless linksys USB adapter, I can see the new computer and can access the files I have set to share.
I have run the wizard on the old one several (I mean SEVERAL) times. I still had to manually set up files for sharing, and I see the little hand under the folders I want to share, but I can't see them on the new computer. The old computer has the XP firewall turned off.
I see everything I need from the new on the old computer, can print on the printer connected to the new computer, but can't see the old computer in 'my network places'. The EasyLink adviser sees the old computer.
When I view workgroup computers on the new one, and click on the icon for the old computer, I get a message that I might not have permission, but as far as I can tell, permission is set on the old one.
Is there something I'm missing to give the new computer permission to access the old one?

I'm having this exact issue.
I have WRT54GC as well.
Two old desktop computers (win XP Home) are running on a wired connection, one (new) wireless laptop (win XP Media). All are connected to internet no problem, but none can see each other. I have run the network setup wizard several times on both desktops. It seems successful, but then I cannot view workgroup computers and I cannot print to network printers. "Improper permissions."
What is going on here and how can i fix it?

- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced items like apps and music.

You cannot fond the movie? Where did you look?
Did it download? Have you tried Store>Check for Available downloads.

Try plugging it into different USB ports. If you're plugging it into a keyboard or monitor, try plugging it directly into the box instead.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
Since other computers see it and yours doesn't then it's likely a driver issue with your computer. You need to try the multiple plugs, etc, to trigger that driver installation on your computer.

Can't Sync Ipad 2 with Computer b/c Itunes 11.1 installation fails

Hello! I have a question in regards to my ipad 2 and syncing it to my computer. I recently installed IOS 7 onto my Ipad 2, but when I went to sync it with my computer, Itunes gave me an error saying that I needed to download and install itunes 11.1 for compatibility reasons with IOS 7. So, I was able to successfully download the new versions of itunes directly from the itunes website, but the issue came when the installation process began. The installation ran and had finished in a short amount of time and then I received this message:
"Errors occured during the installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation, run the installer again. Click finish to exit the installer."
So I went ahead and downloaded the software multiple times (5 times) and attempted to install it multiple times and I constantly receive the same error that is displayed above. If anyone has any clue on how to fix this I'd GREATLY appreciate anyone's suggestions. I generally can fix these problems myself but this problem seems to be persistent and many other people are having similar issues.

I have to say this would only happen on a windows PC,   Why it doesn't prompt you to close all windows baffle me still!
The install gets hung up because of an open window.   You must close all windows before installation.
Open downloads and delete the downloads you did so far.
To get the install back on track:
Scary, but it will be the cleanest install. Uninstall iTunes using the control center. Directions can be found here:

Note...you must close all windows during install.   After the download, open download window, close all other windows.
Click on install.

Can't see iphone in My Computer

I have 2 computers.
The first one: When I plug in my iphone into the USB, I can see my iPhone as a hard drive in "My Computer" and when I click on itune icon it can connect and communicate with my iPhone. This one works fine, but on the second computer, when I plug in my iPhone into the USB, I cant see the iPhone as a harddrive in the "My Computer", so my computer cannot communicate with it when I click on itune icon. My question is, how do I get my iPhone to show up in the "My Computer". I tried go to the control panel and use the Add Hardware menu, but it still cant see iPhone as a hard drive in "My Computer". I downloaded itune and re-install it but no help. Can anyone help. Im using a compaq computer and Im using Windows Xp home. I have a lot of memory and harddrive space, so that cant be the problem.

The iPhone does not support disk use, and does not show up "as a hard drive in My Computer," (at least, not for storage like an external disk drive). The iPhone differs from iPods in that aspect. If you have pics taken on the iPhone (in the iPhone's Camera Roll) then the iPhone does show up in My Computer, but you only have access to the photos in the Camera Roll.
Why do you want to connect to a second computer? Be aware that the iPhone will sync iTunes media content (music/videos/apps) with ONLY ONE computer. If you connect to a second computer, the media content loaded onto the iPhone from the first computer _will be deleted_ and replaced with the media content on the second computer.
