Can't see iPhone playlist on iTunes

I manually drag and drop songs onto my iPhone; however when I click on the iPhone icon in iTunes it just shows my entire song library and will not let me see the playlist on my phone. I know the songs are on my phone.
When I went to sync up the iPhone with my computer I did get the "unable to load data class information from Sync Services" error message.
Any thoughts on how to correct this issue?

One thing that might help.
Try updating to itunes 8.0.1.

Hope this helps.

can i transfer iphone playlist to itunes

Hey everyone!!! I believe I'm on the right thread and I HOPE SO or an iPhone is about to become a trash weight.
I am trying to figure out a way whereby when I add songs to a playlist via my iPhone and/or re-arrange the Playlist order, I am able to sync my iPhone to iTunes and have iTunes reflect the changes and/or additions I have made to the Playlist.  All of the music isn't necessarily purchased through the iTunes Store, however, they are all .mp3.
I saw the successful feedback about exporting the playlist and then importing back, HOWEVER...
when I click on the right triangle to show my iPhone playlists; it mirrors iTunes.  For example, my playlist has 245 songs and iTunes is showing 237 (both on the playlist below the right triangle and in the Playlist section itself in iTunes.  So if and when I sync, I lose those 8 songs and have to go back and manually add to the playlist on the phone again and re-order etc.
What am I missing and is there a way to make changes on the iPhone and not lose everything during a sync.
I can't thank you enough for any help anyone has to offer!!!!!!!

  • Can t see iPhone 4 in iTunes but iPhone 6 does show

my iPhone 6 shows in iTunes but my work iPhone 4 doesn't, what can i do?
    thank you in advance

Another option if you don’t have anything else important on your phone is you could sync your contact with yahoo or Gmail and then restore the iPhone plugged into just power. Once your restore complete you should have more space available. Normally you should be able to connect to iTunes to see if it recognize/update at this point.

  • Can't see iPhone 5 in iTunes 11

I have tried rebooting the phone and the computer, reinstalling iTunes, 3 different USB posrts... for some reason my iPhone stopped being recognized by iTunes. What can I do about this? I've had Tunes 11 for a while but haven't had this problem. I have the sidebar showing and the phone never pops up there OR in the upper right corner.

Your profile says Windows 7, so here are instructions for reinstalling iTunes on a Windows 7 computer. This must be followed to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

  • Can't see iPhone 4 in iTunes

I recently upgraded my iTunes and my iPhone 4 and now it doesn't show up in iTunes or iExplorer.  If I look for it under My Computer, it shows now as Apple iPhone #2 instead of Lori's iPhone which is what it was named.
What is going on and is there a way to fix this?  Thanks!

Wendy, thank you so much for your suggestion.  However, after trying literally everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes to no avail, I called Apple for help.  Lucky me, seriously, got this wonderful lady named Patricia who is a real expert.  Stuck with me for HOURS.  She couldn't easily figure it out.  So we had to finally delete EVERYTHING Apple-related in the correct order, which she said is very important.
Once we had everything deleted, we had to go through my program files, common files and Windows files/folders to make sure there was nothing left of either iTunes, Quick Time, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, and Apple Device Mgr. left.  We did find folders and had to just delete those.
After the computer had been totally cleansed of anything Apple -- oh, yes, also a folder called "iPod," too -- we reinstalled iTunes and, VOILA, it worked.  All my playlists for my phone were there because, as she explained it, those are kept "outside" of iTunes.
So now it's working.  If anyone has this problem again and has tried everything, like I had, this is your answer.
    Thank for all the suggestions!

  • HT1614 How come I can't see "Nike+" option in itunes when I plug in my iphone? I have it turned on in my iphone and have work out data in it.

How come I can't see "Nike+" option in itunes when I plug in my iphone? I have it turned on in my iphone5 and have work out data in it.

    Hello Kanji0513,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
I found this bit of info about the way Nike+ works on the iPhone and iPod Touches versus the way it works with other model iPods.
Your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS or later wirelessly sends workout data to nikeplus.com from wherever you are on the road. So right after your run, you can track your progress and analyze your performance. If you walk or run with iPod nano, workout data is sent to nikeplus.com when you connect it to your Mac or PC.
    From: http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/sync.html
The option in iTunes only appears if you are not using an iPod Touch or iPhone.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • I can't see my playlists on the iPod nano (7th generation)

I can’t see my playlists on the iPod nano (7th generation), but I can see and play them on the iTunes on my laptop. What do I do?

    Hi lone_dreamr,
This is going to depend on how you are syncing music to your iPod nano. If you are automatically syncing, what option do you have selected in this menu? (Entire music library, or Selected content)
You may want to uncheck the "Sync Music" box, apply the changes, then recheck the box, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPod, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.
If the above does not resolve your issue, see the following articles:

  • TA47831 How can I import a playlist to iTunes?

An old article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TA47831) explained how to export an iTunes playlist to an .m3u file and reimport it.  This functionality no longer works with the newer version of iTunes (I'm running iTunes 10.6 on Windows 7).  This is presumably why the article has been retired and is no longer supported by Apple.
If I export a playlist, change its name, then reimport the result is an empty playlist.  Here is an example of one of the lines from the .m3u file:
    #EXTINF:196,My Happiness - Ella Fitzgerald
    \\NEF\music\Ella Fitzgerald - 50 Classic Hits (disc 2)\Ella Fitzgerald - My Happiness.mp3
As you can see my file is an mp3 on a remote server ("nef") and works perfectly well in the "Music" section of iTunes.
What I really want to do is to import some playlists that have been generated elsewhere (for example using a script to identify all the US hits of the 1980s with the word "power" somewhere in the lyrics).  I figured the easiest way to do that would be to work out what format of playlist iTunes would be able to import and generate one of those, I was somewhat surprised to discover that iTunes can't even import a playlist it has just exported.
How can I import a playlist to iTunes?

    Hi Steve,
I was wondering this myself and a quick Google found your post here along with an Apple support article published three weeks ago. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1744?viewlocale=en_US
    Hope this helps.

    Hello moamal,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that when you connect your iPad to your Windows computer, iTunes does not recognize that it has been connected. For this situation, I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps outlined in the attached article to resolve this.

Can't get iphone to recognize itunes on my computer. do i have to use the original cord to connect? i can't find the cord. please advise.

Do you mean that iTunes doesn't recognize your phone when you plug it into your computer using the usb to dock cable?  If so, see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538.  (And yes, you need to use the usb to dock cable that came with your phone.  If you dont' have it you'll have to buy another one.)

Do the tracks show up in the Recently Added playlist? If so then something has gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem. (Probably adding anything would do.)
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up.

  • Can I see what Playlist my song is in by holding Option

I just read in Mac Life mag that using Address Book I can hold the option key and see what groups a contact is in - they are highlighted in Yellow. Cool, so how can I see what Playlist my Song is in using iTunes? I bet this would be a fantastic feature and one millions of people would welcome. What do you say - is there a way? A secret way?

    Hi John,
Control click the track/Show in Playlist. Might be able to right click also depending on your mouse.
