Can't See Ipod Songs in Itunes??
I have just upgraded to a new ipod nano 8mgb and I'm using itunes 9.
I want to add songs to my ipod manually rather than using sync. I have managed to do this but I cant see the songs I've transferred in itunes like I have in the past. I can see them on my ipod. What am I doin wrong guys?
Hello Hibbster,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Are you talking about viewing your iPod's content within iTunes?
If so, click on the small black triangle next to your iPod's name in the left hand pane of iTunes. This should open up a small list underneath with Music, Videos, and such. Go ahead and click on the Music one to view the content currently on your iPod.
Does that do the trick for you?

I can't see ipod on the itunes library page anymore. how do i transfer music from the hard drive to my ipod now?
Click on the button for the iPod on the iTunes header bar, e.g.:
or go to the View menu and select "Show Sidebar" after which iTunes 11 will look much as earlier versions did. From there the process is exactly the same.

How can I see Ipod download on iTunes. (It syncs but I do not see the synced data)
How can I see IPOD download on iTunes after syncing. The data syncs but is not visible on computer screen
For example, when I sync the contents of my address book to the computer using itunes, shouldn't I be able to see what content was transferred to itunes? When my calendar is synced shouldn't I be able to see on iTunes the events that I added to my IPOD?

I have a new computer, IBM thinkpad and when I hooked up my ipod to the newly downloaded ITunes it recognized my ipod (name and all!) but I can't see my songs in the itunes window. I have hit "sync" it shows updating, but my songs still don't appear in the window.
The songs are ok on the ipod, at least i didn't delete them as i've done in the past!
Help!!!!Just hit the arrow to the left side of the ipods name
in iTUnes, then select "Music" under the ipods name
That did it!!! Thank you so much! -
I uploaded my album, but can't see individual songs on Itunes
Hi,
I am an artist and uploaded this morning my album with Cdbaby to iTunes. I can find my album now in the iTunes Store, see the album cover and name, but can't see the songs that are in this album. So i can't see the tracklist, and also can't buy the songs. I can buy the album, and then i recieve all the songs. On Cdbaby i submitted that people are able to buy the songs seperatly. How come? Does anyone have any idea, i can't find anything! For getting songs off your iPod and back into iTunes, check this link out.

See "iPod" Songs in iTunes but can't save them in Library or Music Folder!
My apologies in advance, folks, I'm a newbie to the Discussions.
Initially had loaded my iTunes onto a PC and "homeshared" to my Mac. PC died and could not disable homesharing on THAT end. But did disable homesharing on my Mac. Synced by iPod (appears to be a PC model) and all songs showed up under device in iTunes. But, all songs were downloaded from CDs (not iTunes store). So: tried to select all and save to a new folder under music. No dice. Tried "Add to Library" from iTunes File Menu...nada. Since the songs were originally loaded to the iPod from a Windows PC, do I need a utility in order to get them uploaded to my Mac? Really don't want to have to re-record them all (>1000 songs) and know I must be missing something obvious here.
Please tell me I'm just overlooking a VERY easy step!! I now have 1 (yes, one) song in my Library.
Your help is really greatly appreciated!Hi folks:
Just in case anyone else experieces this problem (uploading iPod Windows to iTunes Mac, I used iPodDisk freeware (with MacFuse)...loads songs to Finder as organized in iPod and you can drag and drop into iTunes!! Easiest way to get the job done... -
Can't play ipod song in itunes
I can see, but not play, any of the CD-originated songs that are in my ipod from the itunes client.
I got a new laptop for Christmas (Toshiba with newest ITunes client 7.5)
I have a one year old ipod nano with songs in two categories:
1. purchased off of itunes.
2. ripped out of CDs.
I authorized the new computer to play itunes purchases, but I can't play the songs that are in my ipod that originated on a CD.*I am unable to copy/move these songs into the music library of itunes (i.e. given a song is in the ipod (originally ripped off a CD source), I cannot get that song into the music library of itunes.*
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide -
I can't see my songs in iTunes
I moved my iTunes to my new laptop and I cannot see my songs. I check the file path and it is the same as my old laptop. I have authorized my new computer. Windows 8 operating system. Can anyone help?
What fixed it for me:
On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
Uncheck "Sync Music"
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
Let it run and finish
Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
See if that doesn't work for you. I tried a lot of things that did nothing, but this seems to have fixed it, and quickly. -
Ahhh, help please, can't see ipod shuffle in itunes
I've downloaded the latest itunes after i bought a 1GB 2nd gen ipod shuffle. I plug it into USB and immediately it pops up asking me whether I wish to play or open the folder (like it does when I plug in a memory stick or my mp3 player). I choose cancel and then open itunes.
I can't see any option to add the ipod in itunes though, there's no ipod setup assistant that appears when I plug it into the USB port and I can't see any option to search for it.
I can see the ipod in My computer on the I drive, so the PC recognises it. How can I get itunes to do the same?
Thanks!Well, I actually got a bit further now (although quite by accident). I went into "My Computer" and clicked on "System Properties." Then clicked on the "Hardware" tab and "Device Manager." When the list was populated, there was my iPod! It had a yellow warning sign next to it, so I clicked on it and followed the prompts...NOW my computer recognizes it and it shows up when I log into iTunes. HOWEVER, now I am getting the "cannot sync b/c the required disk cannot be found." *sigh* I'm a little more hopeful...maybe the tech support can help me from here??

Can't play iPod songs in iTunes 7, just Hard Drive Songs
Hi
I just downloaded the new iTunes 7 but I don't know how to play the songs from the iPod in the iTunes, I mean, the ones that I don't have in my Hard Drive, so far I just can play the songs on the library but not the ones in the iPod.
If I use the iPod alone I don't have problems, but I don't know how to play the iPod through iTunes in this brand new version.
Thanks in advance.
iPod 60GB Color (No Video) Windows XPI have the exact same problem!! Two hours ago I had 1,022 songs on my iPod. I installed itunes 7 and then the new ipod software, and it seemed like I still had all of my songs. Then, I went through all of the types of media- videos, music, etc., and told it to sync everything BUT my music; these were in fact the settings that were already in place. Then I asked it to update these changes. The next time I looked over, I had 12 songs. Now, my hard-drive library of Music is still there, so I can put those songs back on my ipod, but the songs I took from my dad's itunes library the last time I was home- like 500 of them- are gone. I put my ipod into disk mode, and there was nothing listed except for some folders of "contacts", etc., no music. What???!!!

Can't see/find songs in iTunes
Using Win. XP
It was fine up until now when I opened iTunes (stored on my external), & I got an iTunes "Music Home page". Not my library of songs as usual.
I do still see the actual folder containing my songs within the iTunes program folder. (ie: iTunes Media), just nothing on the interface all of a sudden & it won't let me click in the search field.
What happened? How do I make them reappear? Tried rebooting, updating, etc. At a loss.
(All songs are also in my iPod too)If you changed your iTunes media folder location to your external drive, it probably lost the connection. Ultimately you will need to either make iTunes reconnect with the media folder on your external hard drive or re-add the iTunes media folder by going to File - Add folder - in iTunes and locating the folder with your music in it. Here are a few articles that may help you.

I can't see ipod 3 in itunes or mac sidebar
Since updating to the most recent iTunes software I cannot see my iPod Touch in the side bar not in iTunes but if I disconnect it incorrectly I will get the message that I have disconnected a device improperly so it must realize it's there. I have no way of copying apps over to the iPod though.
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
CindyIs the sidebar turned on?
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
Do you have Windows? Of yes are you getting the error message that says a USB device (vice iPod) removed? -
I can't see the songs in my iTunes. These songs were synced from my iPod classic before the i tunes updates.
I would suggest as this is not Apple software you are using, you might want to look here.

I synced ipod to itunes (windows), itunes removed all my single purchased songs from my iphone. I can see the songs in itunes, but they are gray and I can't move them back to my iphone or to any other device. I can't play them on the computer in itunes, I can't move them back to my iphone (where original purchase was made), and I can't move them into another ipod.
I had the Itunes store do this to one song out of three I downloaded. I went back to the Itunes store and reclicked on the song to download it again. It ran the download again and got the complete song this second time. Then I just resynced with my Itunes and all is fixed.

Hi, do you know how can I upload inelegible songs from itunes to Icloud. They are songs added from original CDs. Another question would be how can I transfer all the music I have in my Ipod Classic to my Itunes or ICloud as I want to back it up.
Depends on why it's ineligible. If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version. (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".) Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match. Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.
