Can't see mp3s I imported

The podcasts I imported as mp3s don't show in iTunes, even though they're in "iTunes Music" directory on my computer. I did both File > Add File to Library and > Add Folder to Library. Now what?

Thanks for the tip on MP3 Validator -- useful little program. But it appears the problem is that the mp3 files I attempted to import are not imported by iTunes. Rather, iTunes just zips through the > Add File to Library function without adding them! Worse, when I tried copying the files from a source folder into the iTunes Music folder, then restart iTunes, iTunes doesn't even see the files (although they show in Explorer)! BTW, those mp3s in the source folder checked out fine with MP3 Validator. Any thoughts?

  • Safari can't see latest iphoto import

One thing that drives me nuts about my new mac is that if I import a new photo in iPhoto (i.e. from Flash drive or iPhone) it can never find it until I restart my computer. If you're in facebook or blogger or anything, and you click to upload a file, it will only see whatever you imported previously, not the latest pictures.
Clearly, something's set up funny. Ideas?

    Hi,
You can sync photos using iTunes from your iPhone to your Mac then upload to Facebook.

  • I can't see .MP3 files in a folder?

Hello, I recently just got a MacBook Pro Retina and I wanted to put all of my music on is (908 songs) but when I added the folder of music to my mac, none of the files show up in the folder. I also tried waiting, thinking maybe it would take a long time to load. Still nothing. How can I fix this?
    Long Explanation:
I just took exactly 908 songs from my PC put all of them into a single folder, put onto my external hard drive and then put the entire folder on my mac. I then proceeded to drag the folder into iTunes. I then realized that iTunes had only picked up 321 of the songs. So I deleted everything, and re-added all the songs to my iTunes after converting them all to MP3's (Did this on the PC.) I added all the songs again my empty iTunes. This time 535 of the songs were added. I deleted everything from iTunes AGAIN (by moving to trash, not just from the library), and re-added the folder of MP3s to my mac. This time I figured i could see what was in the folder before I added them to iTunes to see what was maybe going wrong, but when I open the folder nothing is there. It's just empty.

    Hello Just So Pro,
It sounds like you are copying your folder correctly and adding it to iTunes, but there seems to be an issue with writing to the hard drive of your Mac from your external drive. I would perform a Safe Boot, then restart and test the issue again so the computer can check the disk and reset some things:
    Starting up in Safe Mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
To leave Safe Mode, restart your computer without holding any keys during startup.
OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

  • Samsung Intensity 3--can't see MP3s

I'm using the Intensity 3 without a memory card and I'm trying to get an MP3 onto it.
I found instructions online which said that way to get MP3s onto it is to use Windows Media Player and click on Sync. I did this and it said that the sync was successful. However when I go to My Music on my phone, it doesn't show anything.

  • How can I see pictures not imported using iphoto within iphoto?

I just got a new iMac and am converting over from a Dell PC.  I have thousands of pictures that I copied over.  I then synced my ipad and all those pictures imported using iPhoto.  I liked the ability to see Events and Faces and ws thinking I might like to bring in all of my older pictures.  Is there a way to do that? Would I even want to? Would it recognize the folder structure I established for each event?

As Léonie pointed out each folder imported into iPhoto will result in an Event with the same name as the folder. In the photos mode with Event titles set to be displayed you'll get this:
Once inside iPhoto you can merge  Events or drag photos from one event into another.
However if you want to create a hierarchical folder organization you'll need to do that in the left hand pane of iPhoto with folders and albums.
That is create a folder and drag events into it and you will have albums in the folder representing the events.  These are only pointers to the original files and not duplicate files.  Folders can hold folders, albums, books, slideshows but not individual photos.  So you could create a hierarchy like this:

  • Can't see books i imported from Audible on my new PC

I just got a new PC with Windows 8.1 and when I opened iTunes I don't see the books I have imported into iTunes from Audible.com.  The library is on my old computer (PC WinXP) but no books on this new computer.  How do I get them to show up?

As alex_h1 replied, your audiobooks should be available to you if you've transferred your library from your old computer.  Three points to note:
The Audible downloader utility generally puts audiobooks in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audible\Downloads - if your old iTunes installation was configured to not copy files to the iTunes Media folders then they may be in that location and that location only.
In most cases you can retrieve previously purchases from the Audible site, though there are exceptions - mainly where an agreement between Audible and a publisher has lapsed.  In general if you can still buy the audiobook from Audible and you've previously purchased it, you should be able to download it again.
To listen to your audiobooks on your new computer and sync them from there to iDevices, you'll need to authorize your Audible account for the new computer (and, if the old one's no longer to be used, you should deauthorize it there).

  • Can't see previews on import

    Hello everybody,
I was just getting started to import photos into lr3.  I did a couple of tests and it worked fine.  the third time i hit the import button picked the folder LR3 shows how many files are their but will not show me the previews.  it worked fine the first two times but the third time is not the charm.  if I hit the import button it will bring in the files then show me preivews of the files.  i can then use them as normal.
Does anyone know what I may have done to cause this or has anyone else encountered this problem.  All I see in the center work area is a grey screen.
2- do any of you know how to delete a unneeded catalog from lr3?

See this tiny arrow in the red circle? I spent about a week trying to solve the same mistery

  • Can't see mp3 files in iTunes Music folder.

The artist and album folders are there under the main iTunes Music folder. They contain the album name and album images, but not the actual mp3 music files.
iTunes plays all the music fine. I just can't find the mp3 files in their folders in iTunes Music Folder.

    hexonxonx,
Thanks for responding to my question. I'm trying to troubleshoot an audiobook that won't download from the iTunes store. It's part one of a two part audiobook. The second part downloaded properly, along with three other audiobooks.
iTunes support has given me two sets of instructions, neither which I can carry out.
The first set is to empty the Downloads folder and then empty the trash, and the second set to to empty the cache folder. Unfortunately, I can't find either folder. I also cannot find a folder labeled with the name of the audiobook that is hung up. If you have any further advice, I'd appreciate it.

  • Can't See RAW Previews Import Direct From Camera

    v. 1.4.1
Hi. I tried to import RAWs directly from a Canon XTi to LR 1.4.1 and couldn't see the images in the preview window. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks.

    Hi Jay,
I wasn't really concerned about the speed. I rarely read more than one card (400 10MP RAW images) at a time. But will a card reader allow me to see the previews?

They won't show up on the devices unless you sync them.
