Can't see my files or folders when using accounts..

I have 2 MyBook USB drives that I used to have connected to my Mac Mini that I today decided to move out in the closet and connect them to my Airport Extreme. Everything works fine as long as I set "Secure Shared Disks: With base station password", but when I select "With accounts" I can't seem to see any of my files or folders when I connect to the drives. I only get an empty drive. I can even add files or folders to it, and when I revert the changes I see my old files again, but not the new ones (unless I go back again).
Anybody have a clue as to what might be wrong here?

Here is how I fixed it on my end:
First, unplugged the USB disk from AEBS and plugged in directly to my MacBookPro. Then, Get Info on the drive and selected "Shared Drive". Then, plugged it back into the AEBS and connected as a Guest.
So far, works just fine. I can see all of my files on the external USB drive that is connect to the AEBS.
Specs on my set up:
Leopard 10.5.1
MacBook Pro
AEBS Firmware 7.2.1
configured as a shared drive with Guest access (read & write)
I have spent the past 5 hours working on this issue, including a call to Apple Tech Support.

    *Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    *Check that images are enabled: Firefox > Preferences > Content: [X] Load images automatically

    *Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
    If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
    There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

    There's a bug with the wallpaper. One thing that helps a bit, go to the photos app, find your pic, 'send' it to be wallpaper. You have a bit more control although not all the function you're used to.
    No idea when or if Apple will fix it.

    My users sometimes have a problem that user A sometimes can't see a file created or copied by user B to a directory within a share they can both access. Both are within the same group which grants them Full Access on the share, settings for permissions are
    correctly set to be applied on directories, subdirectories and files.. Confusingly, this can be fixed when user A creates some kind of file (empty .txt, for example); the "missing" files will suddenly appear.
    Windows Server 2008r2, DC
    Windows File Server 2008r2, shares and files are located here.
    ABENUM activated, needed for several folders.
    The Domain-Admin Account is able to see all the files all the time.
    Anybody got an idea what I could check?

    When you use user A access the shared folder, did you do the refresh to check the result?

  • Can't see pdf files inside folder when logged in to my profile

    When logged into my computer, I can see all the pdf's inside a certain folder just fine. but when i log into an intern computer within our network I cannot see those files. the folder just appears empty. The intern however, when logged in as herself on that same intern computer can see the pdf's just fine. any ideas as to why i can't see them on that second computer?

    This is not an Acrobat related issue, it is related to your local user profile, I will recommend you to contact your network administrator so that he can help you to create a shared user profile on the network.

  • When saving a file I can't see a list of folders when I hit the "Browse Folders" button.

    I am using the latest version of Firefox on W7 64 bit.
    I tried reinstalling Firefox and it resolved the issue then shortly afterwards the problem popped up again. Reinstalling a 2nd time didn't fix the problem. Resetting Firefox didn't fix it either.

    That dialog is definitely broken. I'm struggling to think of what could have been fixed by one reinstall but not by another one.
    Occasionally dialog problems can be caused by corruption in the file that stores your toolbar customizations. You can rename the file and return to default toolbar settings to see whether that makes any difference.
    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
    Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
    Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit (File menu > Exit or orange Firefox button > Exit)
    Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''localstore.rdf''' to something like localstore.old
    Restart Firefox. Any improvement?

  • Iphon 2.1 - can u sync "contacts in personal folders" when using exch2003?

    I don't have an IPhone nor do I want an Iphone, so I have little to no experience with the phones, but I have an owner that has one and once he upgraded to 2.0/2.1 he was no longer able to sync his outlook 2003 "contacts in personal folders" folder to his iphone via itunes /sync sw using usb cable. He had an issue where there was a LinkedIn 'collected contacts' folder and it originally was synced with the phone after the update. We have since gotten rid of the linked in toolbar successfully and after resetting sync history and attempting another sync that folder was no longer showing in the sync software/on the phone. Now it just shows the 'contacts' folder and we can not get it to sync with the 'contacts in personal folder", which is in the complaint unicode formatted type pst. Should he be able to by design to sync to the 'contacts in personal folder' with this version even though his outlook is defaulted to his exchange account? He has nothing in his exchange 'contacts' folder that he wants nor needs to sync to his iphone and NO we are not setup to sync/use the iphone with our exchange server or have plans to do so.
    Any links to specific documentation on the subjects and/or specific facts on the true behavior of the phone and software version with the aforementioned outlook account setups would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the exact same problem. I am syncing the email and calender with an MS Exchange account. In iTunes, I set the Contact to sync with Outlook. After upgrading the iPhone software, the next sync wiped out all my contacts on the iPhone. It used to be able to sync the contacts in the Outlook 2007 Personal Folder. Now, it just won't do it. It just keeps the contacts from the Exchange Contact list.
    THis is a huge problem. Anyone with any solutions? Apple?

  • Why can't I see my hotmail folders when using Mail on my Mac, but I can see them when I use Mail on my iPhone, weird?

    I've set up Mail on my new Mac, but the folders I have set up in my Hotmail are not visible. Funny, coz I can see the folders when using Mail on my Iphone.     Why don't you  (generic most every post lacks critical details) be clear and say you never used Mac OS etc.
    But, I did try to anticipate and give you what you needed.
    Excel is one of those rare programs that, if they are extremely large complex spreadsheets still tend to run better under Office for Windows.
    A VM won't do for that but it does make it easier to transition. As in: install Windows natively, then use VMware Fusion or Parallels to attach to the partition and OS. That way you can run Windows as Guest OS VM under Mac; and still run Windows natively dual-boot when needed.
    The word "see" was not what you wanted, was it? really? you want to open and make changes and keep it on Windows side rather than Save As or copy to Mac

  • I can't see the files on my USB disk

    I know there are about 250 million threads about airport USB disk problems, but I can't see one with my specific drama.
    I can connect, see the drive (its a LaCie 250GB) and move stuff to it via the airport. The problem is that I cant see the files once they are on the LaCie. The finder window will start to show each folder but after about 1 second all the folders dissapear and the finder says "0 items, 91.38 GB available".
    Obviously the computer is reading the drive as it knows how much space is on there, and it can write to the drive - it just wont display the folders. If I connect using a USB cable then all is well, so its just the ***** airport!
    Someone please help, I'm going mad!

    The disk sharing utility creates separate folders which are not visible when connected to the AEBS, but are when directly connected via USB to your computer:
    "Shared" > for all mainly shared files and folders
    "[Username]" > for all user related files and folders when you use account to access your disks through the AEBS via Airport.
    So if you first connect your disk directly to your PC, make sure you copy your files to the "Shared" directory (and not directly in the root), and if you did not connect the disk to the AEBS before, or the "Shared" directory does not exist, make this folder yourself.

    Have a 1st gen ipod that is still going strong. I take it back and forth from home (mac powerbook g4) to office (mac g5) usually with no problem. I update my music only on home computer. Use the ipod as a removeable HD to transfer work files over firewire. Suddenly after upgrading to latest iTunes my files are no longer visible on my work computer. Volume mounts and I can see my contacts and calendar files, but not the HD storage. It will still succesfully charge also. Sounds like a security or privileges issue?

    The reason you can't see the streams is because they only
    show up when they are being accessed (played) which is probably the
    dumbest thing ever. Anyhow, as for the URL not working, not exactly
    sure why, but I know this is dumb, you have a typo: rtmp://localho
