Can't see my iPod in the Finder

I have a 20GB click wheel iPod, and I used to be able to see it in the Finder a while back, now it does not appear. I can see it fine in iTunes, works fine and no other issues (but have to eject through iTunes). Maybe this is due to software upgrades and is normal?
My reason for asking is I want to remove some of the data files that I backed up to my iPod using it as a hard drive with Backup, but am not sure how to do this if I cannot view those files, so if you can help with that too that would be great.
I'm running iTunes 7.5, iPod software is version 3.1.1. Thanks very much.

Seems to not be an easy fix...I opened Script Editor (v2.1.1) as the page instructed, but it would not launch (the icon bounced once then disappeared from the dock).
Also, the page that you sent me to alluded to the fact that Spotlight would find files on invisible drives, but I searched for a song that I can see through iTunes is on my iPod, but Spotlight does not find it. Not sure if this is helpful to you.
I am not familiar enough with Terminal to really follow the next suggestion given on the page. I could print it out and take it to the Apple store, or do you have any other ideas?

You might need to restart your Mac.
1. Click on the Apple Logo
2. Click Restart
3. To confirm restart, Click Restart
4. Your Mac restarts
Or instead, you can download media from your iPod Touch.

Can't see networked computer in the finder's network window.

I can no longer see my MacPro from my MBP in the finder's "Network" window.
I can still connect using "Connect to Server" and typing the IP manually.
From the MacPro I can see the MBP just fine.
I repaired permission, ran cocktail etc...
Any ideas?

Apple uses a service called "Bonjour" to discover devices on a network. Bonjour piggybacks on the mDNS service, meaning it broadcasts on port 5353. Apple is sensitive to being called "chatty", because it's past device discovery methods were indeed chatty. Bounjour has built in some passivity, and devices will delay their broadcasts if logic detects they're not needed. Sometimes all it takes is clicking on the Network tab.
It all boils down to 1 of 3 things:
1) The MacPro is not sending out Bonjour discovery packets.
2) The MacPro is sending out Bonjour discovery packets, but the discovery packets are not reaching the MBP. This is highly doubtful, since the process is working in the opposite direction.
3) The packets reach the MBP but it's not responding to them.
There's a great (and free) utility called Bonjour Browser, and it's available on versiontracker. If you run it on the MBP, you'll have a much better ideas as to what's happening.
My best guess is that the MacPro is not sending out packets. This would either be due to not having anything to share (File Sharing turned off) or logic which dictates that it's been sending out these packets for a long time so they're delayed for 30 minutes to reduce chattiness.

Hi after downloading lion i can't see devices items on Imac. How can I find those? Thank you for your help in advance.

Some more information may be helpful.
What can't you see? Your internal HD? External USB drives? Printer? Scanner?
Where can't you see it? On your desktop? Under "System Information"? Sidebar?

It worked just fine last weekend. I have windows 8.1 and a brand new pc, new iPod also, the new Nano. now after the update today, iTunes says iPod has been detected but could not be indentified properly. I can see it in windows. I tried the reset on the iPod also. what else can I do?? HELP

There is no way you can activate Facetime on an iPod touch purchased in the UAE. The government there required Apple to lock off Facetime at the hardware level and there's no way to unlock it. Reinstalling iOS, regardless of country, will not help. If you want Facetime, you will need to sell your UAE-version iPod and buy one there in India.

This is going to depend on how you are syncing music to your iPod nano. If you are automatically syncing, what option do you have selected in this menu? (Entire music library, or Selected content)
You may want to uncheck the "Sync Music" box, apply the changes, then recheck the box, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPod, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. The five number is the number of computers that can authorized to use a single iTunes account. You can syncan unlimited number of iDevices t one iTunes account. You need to find one of the five computer that you not longer want authorized for the iTunes account and then deauthorize that computer. If you computer crashes and you have to reinstall the operating system the "old" installation still remains authorized. To cover that case Apple allows you to deauthorize all computer one a year so then you can authorize the needed computers. See:

How come I can't see my Ipod Touch on Itunes?

When I had the 9.2 version (the one before 10), just recently before I changed it to 10, my Ipod Icon wouldn't show up on Itunes so I couldnt sync my ipod or do anything, even though it was plugged and was charging. So, then I was like okay, maybe that's my cue to download the newest version of Itunes. Well once I did that, I could sync and see my ipod again on Itunes for a few days, but just now, I plugged in my Ipod and it's doing the same thing again! It's charging, but I can't see my ipod and its options. So I'm not sure if it's my Ipods problem or maybe it's not compatible to the version? I have the 2Gen Ipod touch. Anyone know?

There is no Info tab in Mavericks
