Can't see my iWeb window.

iWeb is not showing me my window with the pages that I've created. The app is open and the window is NOT in the dock. Any thoughts?

Are you suggesting this:
A lot of problems can be solved simply be quitting the application, deleting the iWeb preference file and relaunching.
This file is located in your user library in your Home Folder. The path is - Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist
I'm having the same trouble, but when I try to follow those instructions it tells me that file is not able to be deleted.

There is just the navigation-bar on the top starting with "iWeb ..."

I hate the new downloads-in-a-tab scheme. This was an unnecessary change in my book (if it aint broke, don't "fix it").
So in order to get it back, I performed the about:config browser.download.useToolkitUI change, but now all I get is a blank download window that pops up every time I download something.
Is there something else that I need to do? I've checked the change and it was saved, but it didn't resolve my issue as much as it just caused me a new issue.

I can't see the EXS window

I'm trying to create a sampler instrument in Logic Pro 9 complete installation.
I start a project with a software instrument and select the EXS24 as Input... But I can't see the EXS window. All the instructions I have found so far tell me the next step is to click Edit in the top left of the EXS window... but I can't see how to make it appear.

If you use Lion, go to Applications/ Mission Control and, if you have more Desktops, as attached, it means you have more, and you must select the one you need for a certain app. If default settings has not changed, this is Control with left / right arrow
If in Snow Leopard and earlier, you have these settings in System Preferences only. In Lion, you also have some settings in Sys Prefs.

After installing Lion os I cannot see my desktop 1 nor can I see my open windows when I go to finder, I just get the grey/black background that comes with mission control. Any ideas as to how to solve this problem?

The top picture is what my Desktop 1 looks like. And the picture below is what my desktop looks like after clicking mission control. Ive tried changing wallpapers, changing preferences, etc. and I still can't figure out what's wrong. As you can see, on mission control you can't see any of the open windows, or anything that I have placed on my desktop. Any ideas as to how to solve this issue?

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

Can't see whole Keynote window

I'm using Keynote 3.0.2 on OS10.3.9
On my dual G4 19" monitor I can see the whole window/slide (top ruler says 14") plus the thumbnail slides on the side. Either in the Work or Play mode. All works great.
When I use it on my 15" iBook G4, I can only see 11.5" of the window/slide. Which means I'm always scrolling in both directions to align things... a real pain. I've looked at all the preferences and can't find anything that would give me the complete slide. When I click on PLAY, the whole slide takes up the iBook screen which is what it's supposed to do.
Any ideas on this?

Can't see shares between Windows XP PCs and iMac

I have an Intel iMac running 10.4.9. I have 2 Windows XP-based PCs. One Windows PC and the iMac are connected wirelessly. The other Windows PC is on wired Ethernet. On both the Windows PCs and iMac the firewalls are disabled. The machines are on the same IP subnet (192.168.2.x)
Windows file sharing is turned on via the Mac's System Preferences. In addition, I've created an SMB share to another volume using SharePoints. I also set the SMB workgroup of the of the machines to a common name. Likewise, I have shared directories on both Windows PCs.
My problem is that I can't access the shares on the iMac from the Windows PCs and vice versa. The Windows PCs can see each others' shares.
One thing I've noticed is that I can't ping the iMac from a Windows PC, but I'm not sure if that service is normally running on the iMac. I can ping both of the Windows PCs from the iMac. I can see the computername of the iMac in the Windows Network list of workgroup computers, but when I click on it, I get a message that it's not accessible and that the network path was not found. I don't see the Windows PC's workgroup in the Mac's Network browser via the Finder at all. I also can't connect using the "Connect to Server command" and directly entering the IP address as "smb://192.168.2.2/sharename" I just get the "Connecting..." window and the candycane progress bar indefinitely.
This all worked at one point with a previous router, but I didn't use any sharing for a month or two and switched routers. But basically the network's config is the same.
Any ideas how to get sharing working in either direction?

Well I've double checked and under the Sharing preference, if I click on the Firewall option (tab), it says "Firewall Off" with a "Start" button below it. I also tried turning it on (with the various services that I want to enable checked in the list below it) and turning it back off. Same result: I can see the iMac in the Windows network neighborhood (and the iMac's iTunes shared library name in iTunes) but if I try to access the share or the iTunes library, the Windows PC fails to connect.
Is there some command I can issue in Terminal to better see what state the firewall is in?
Yes, I have a wireless router, through which the Windows PC and iMac are connecting.

Can only see desktop background & windows are blank

My computer (a G4 MDD) is not starting up properly. It will start up but icons, the dock, and text in the menu bar will not appear. It appears the computer works. I had an alert pop up which only appeared as a white window box. I couldn't read it. I only knew what it said because I previously had set up for alerts to be read by the computer. I was able to hit enter and the window went away. Looks like I strictly can not see anything on the computer. I can't find any info on this anywhere. Hope someone can help! (Also, this happened after the computer was forced off during a software update -- of what, I'm not 100% since I wasn't there but I believe it was at least iTunes and a Security Update.)

To do this, change the value of the following registry subkeys to 3 (Manual) or 4 (Disabled)：

Mac can't see some shared Windows subfolders

I'm trying to copy all my pics and music from my old PC (running XP) to a new iMac. I shared both the My Music and My Pictures folders on the PC, and the iMac can see and access both folders. However, the Mac cannot see all the subfolders within those shared folders:
1. The iMac missed (seemingly randomly) 31 of 871 subfolders in My Music while I was using the Add to Library function in iTunes. It tried accessing the missing shared subfolders directly via Finder, and could not see them on the Mac.
2. The iMac cannot see any of the 20 subfolders or 10 files in My Pictures.
All of the share settings on the two shared folders are identical. And there's nothing unique about any of the invisible subfolders within the PC's My Music folder - they just can't been seen on the Mac. I have 3 other PCs on the network that can all see all the shared folders.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

On a whim, I tried enabling Simple File Sharing on the Windows PC (I had been setting up everything manually, so I could customize access, etc.), and this did the trick. I must have set something up that my Mac didn't like, but I'm not sure what it was...
You can do this by opening My Computer, then Tools >> Folder Options >> View >> Advanced Settings >> Use Simple File Sharing.

Can't see bottom of window on Air 11.6

Hi there!
I have a problem with my MB Air 11.6 and Motion 5.
The thing is I can't see the bottom of the program(the part with the timecode, zoom timeline ect.). There is no way to scale the window any smaller and when I maximize it I can't see it either.
The system requirements says you need at least 1280 x 768 resolution and the MB Air is 1366 x 768, so that shouldn't be any problem...
Anyone have an idea?

Ahh sorry, i just realised you said Motion 5, I thought you were talking about Final cut pro for some reason.
I too am having this problem. i only noticed yesterday when i had to click the button at the bottom that changes the timeline to the key frame line.
I found a way but its not ideal or the correct way... Move the curser to the side of the screen so you can adjust the width of the screen and pull the screen edge in a little bit fast, this causes the botton of the screen to shrink just a little so you can get to the controls.
Like i said this is not what you should have to do and i woyld like to know the propper way too if anyone knows.

Some people can't see my iWeb site

Quite a few people complain of not being able to see bits of my iWeb site, most typically these are users from the public sector, and they either can't see photos or albums, or, worse still, can't see any of the links iWeb puts automatically at the top of the page, so they only see the one page. Is there anything I can do make sure everyone can see it?

Can't see main mail window???

Ok so I upgraded to Lion and I can launch mail and I can create and send new messages but the main mail window will never show. So I can't actually see any messages or folders or anything. I can get connectivity doctor window to show and everything connects and shows fine. If I do cmd+0 to show message viewer that won't show.
Any idea's on how I can get the main mail window to show up again?

I had the same problem as you after migrating my system from Snow Leopard to Lion via a Timemachine back-up.
I suspected that your solution could help me, but unfortunately in Lion there is no longer a visible ~/Library in the home folder.
I noticed that there was a new and unexpected "folder" in the sidebar of the normal folder pain view. This object was a sprocket (like the one next to the inteligent folders in "Mail"). I klicked on it and got a search result of items from my missing "Mail" file structure as if I had used Spotlight to search for them. By going a few levels up the file path I was in the invisable ~/Library folder with the /Mail folder visible. I trashed the entire /V2 folder (which was a mistake because all of my old emails are now gone) and restarted "Mail". "Mail" is now working as expected.

Can't see video of windows XP user

i'm trying to video chat with a windows xp user (they are using AIM 5.9). I'm on an IMAC G5 using latest version of ichat. Windows user has turned off all firewalls. We can both send and accept video invitation. But i cannot see the video of my window user (i can hear him though) Yet he can see and hear me. So it seems like the problem is on my end but can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

Have they Tuned the camera and Mic they are using to the application ? AIM requires this. They need message 570 onwards in that link. Access is now through the Menus in the AIM Buddy list (The instructions were written for AIM 5.5).
