Downloading from iTunes I can't see movies but the movie indicted it was downloaded

I assume that you are looking in the videos app for the movie. If it does not appear in the video app, search for it.
Swipe to the right from the home screen to enable the Spotlight Search feature. Type the name of the movie into the search field. If the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start playing. If it does play, allow it to play for a minute or two and then hit the Done button.
Go back to the videos app and see if it is in there now.

To the best of my knowledge you cannot currently buy movies via the Apple TV 2. You certainly can't here in the UK, where rental is the only option for all available content.
It's my understanding that US customers can purchase TV shows, but I don't believe they can currently purchase movies

Can't see purchased movies from itunes on iPad

I can't see the movies I purchased on my iPad. I sync them from itunes. They are on the ipad based on the hard drive space used. But when I tap the ipod icon, I can't see movies or video on the bottom of screen or on the left hand side that would point to the movies.
Any help?

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button at the top of the iPad until the red slider appears, then slide to the right to power off the iPad. Connect your iPad to the computer, launch iTunes, select your device on the left side in iTunes, click on movies at the top of iTunes, click sync movies, click on the movies that you want to put on the iPad, click apply in the lower right corner in iTunes, then click sync. That will put the movies on your iPad. Open the Videos app and you are good to go.

Quicktime avid codecs problem. can't see the movie!

I'm having a problem playing quicktime movie with format
vid Meridien compressed. I hear the audio but as for the movie,
it's just white. I've dowloaded codecs
and put it inside
Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime
AND
Macintosh HD/Users/Your Name/Library/Quicktime
however, i still can't see the movie. can someone help me? need to see the movies asap.

If the video codecs you've downloaded are not "Universal" you'll need to launch QuickTime under Rosetta.

I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
If you are still having problems try a restore.

Acrobat Reader is free. Or try this:
1. Select the file.
2. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window.
3. In the Open With section select Preview from the dropdown menu.
4. Click on the Change All button.
This will assign Preview as the default application for opening PDF files. Now, if you downloaded the manual on your iPhone, then you need a PDF reader app. Try the free GoodReader app. Or you can download the manual in iBook format.

You have downloaded the movie on your iphone? If so, then transfer it to your computer: File>Transfer Purchases
The movie will not download on your iphone? Click Store>Check for Available Downloads on your computer in itunes.

First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).
