Can't see my old events

Hi,
I can't see any events prior to april 2006. In preferences the two "delete" options never has been marked. I see birthdays though.
I use Ical 2.04. Any way of getting the old events, and any way I can make it not dissapearing in the future?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

How can I see the old backups of my previous Macbook done by Time machine in a Time capsule with my new iMac? I've changed from a Macbook to a iMac because that one stopped working and I cannot use it anymore. I've been able to import all the data of the last backup of the Macbook when setting the new iMac, but I cannot access now to the old backups of the Macbook and there are information that wasn't in the last backup and I would like to recover. Hello, I'm trying to transfer my old itunes library to a new computer using home sharing. It's switched on in both computers, but I can't see the old library in the new computer. But I can see tracks from the new computer on the old one. Please help.

Apologies for poor syntax, my arm's a little sore. Yes, one computer (old) is vista, new is Windows 8. Shouldn't I be able to import the whole library using home sharing? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance

I am having the same issue. I recently purchased a new laptop and I have spent the last 3 days using the home share to slowly transfer all 22,000 songs. However yesterday morning when I turned on both computers to continue the process I am having the following issue:
both computers are running the same windows OS (8)
both computers are running the same version of itunes
both computers are logged in with the same apple ID
both computers have home sharing turned on
Now however I can see the NEW computers itunes library in the drop down box on the OLD computer, however I can not see the OLD computers itunes library on the NEW computer. I can no longer see "HOME SHARES" on the drop down LIBRARY list on the new computer. I've taken the following steps to correct the error:
reset the router
completely shut down BOTH computers and brought them back up
reopened itunes
re-logged in on both PC's
re-activated both PC's with home share
The articles and help from the apple sites are worthless and it says if you can't see a library just turn home sharing off then back on - I've completed the above steps NUMEROUS times. After spending 4 days on transferring my music I really do not want to have to start over by using an external hard drive and then importing that way. I would like some help on discovering why the new laptop is no longer seeing my old library. (When it has been working up to this point)

What type of message are you trying to find? If it is an e-mail message, did you move it to the saved folder? If it is a text message, did you save it also? You need to use the app that had the message. If you did not save it, then no, you will not see it.

Hello everyone,
I faced this same issue, but not from updating to iOS 7.
In my case all my music playlists disappeared. In another post I found a process which got them back, but after I'd done so I noticed that my Apps list and my books list were both empty, even though I'd bought plenty of books & apps. The following trick I discovered restored both of these lists.
1. Within iTunes, select the Apps tab within the library, to show the (empty) window of all your apps.
2. Now in a finder window, open your iTunes folder. On my computer this is in my Music folder.
3. Within the iTunes folder, locate and drag the "Mobile Applications" folder into the apps window.
Presto!!
The same thing worked for finding the missing books, except that the books folder is stored one level deeper, within the iTunes Music folder, and of course I dragged it into the books window.
I don't know if it matters, but I'm still running OSX 10.6.8 because I have use some legacy OSX apps that won't run in anything more recent, but my iTunes version is 11.1.4.
I hope this helps a few people...

I can't see older photos events of iPhoto on my Apple TV 2nd Gen. Only recent events are shown and I have selected to see all photos, events and faces from the sharing preferences in iTunes. Does anybody have any idea how to solve it?

Mirroring is working on my iPad2 and iPhone4S (IOS5) but not on my iPad (ios5) or iPhone 3G (IOS4).
As I understand it, mirroring is restricted to iPad2 and iPhone4S on ios5.

Can't see my iPhoto events on Apple TV 2

Hi,
In iTunes I selected to show all my pictures from the last 12 months on Apple TV 2. They indeed show up correctly, but all in one album. I want to have my events show up as well. I need to scroll through 3000 pictures to get to the most recent ones at the bottom. It takes ages.
I'd like to see my events from the last 12 months as well, just like on iPhone/iPad. Any idea how?

DO you have any more information? Like did you lose your glasses, turn the monitor off or are you trying to look for the photos via the finder?
If the latter is the case, The basic answer is to export them to a desktop folder and access them from there

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

I created a new home folder on an external but didn't move my old files over. Now I can't see the old hard drive in my mac mini. How can I locate that drive?

I wanted to move my home folder to an external drive. I created a new home folder and in advanced options I moved it over. I didn't however move my files over first, my bad. Now I can't see the hard drive on my mac mini. Is it possible to reverse it or get access to the old home folder and is it possible to still use the mac mini's internal hard drive for storage? How do I find my shared folder, it was on the internal drive. I'm new to macs as you might have guessed at this debockle. Can anyone help?

I'm using Mavricks. I wanted to move my home directory to an external and went into sys prop/users/advanced options and moved the folder ok. Being a noobie on Macs I didn't copy my data and such. So my settings were all new. Basicly now I don't see the internal drive on my mini. There is a lot of strage I'm not able to access. The internal drive doesn't show up. How can I put a folder back onto it so it shows up?

Can't see albums or events

The pane where albums and events show up (on the left) is missing for me. When I add new photos, I can see the events, but I can't see any others. The library is intact--I just can't see the folders or events. Puzzling.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. May be a damage library database file. Rebuild the library as follows: delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Select the first three options. If that doesn't resurrect the library post back and well try a couple of other fixes. Also check the tip at the end of my signature. It can help recover from similar damaged database file problems.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

The first step of syncing with iTunes on your computer is iTunes making a backup. On the computer go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if a backup is listed.

Can't see my old podcasts in iTunes 8

Hello everyone,
I just updated to iTunes 8, and when looking at the podcast section there is a problem. When viewing it in the list setting it is ok, but in the grid setting I can only see the most recent file for any given podcast, and it seems impossible to access the old ones. Has anyone else had any problems like this? Is it a bug, or a I overlooking something?
If anyone out there has any ideas/suggestions, I would be most grateful!
