Can't see my Sites folder

Hello,
I have an iMac I just bought, running Lion (IOS 10,7,2). When I go to my Home directory I cannot see my Sites folder. Also, If I go to web sharing and click on the top link (personal website) I get a 403 Forbidden page.
Can anyone please help me with this?
Thank you.

  • Can't see the "keynote" folder in application supports iwork

I'm trying to uninstall some purchased themes that I don't like. As instructed, I followed the path library>application supports>iwork>keynote>theme. However, I can't see the "keynote" folder, although I showed hidden files. There is only the "pages" folder in that "iwork" folder. Can anyone please help me out?

There are 3 Libraries on the computer. Go to Macintosh HD > Library > application support > iwork > Keynote > themes.

  • *** I can't see my "drafts" folder anymore

I must have done something wrong here. I can't see my "drafts" folder in my list of mailboxes anymore in MacMail. How do I get it back so I can see the draft emails I'm working on?
    Thanks in advance.

What type of account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? Which mailboxes do you see?
BTW, your profile doesn't show the version of Mac OS X you're using, which is much more relevant than the computer model in this forum...

  • I've bought the domain, everything is set up correctly, but I can't see the site on the net! Help!

I recently purchased a .ca domain, and own Snow Leopard server running on a mac mini. I set up the site, load it, and enter all the proper information into the server software. If I look at the web using Safari running on the server machine, I can see the site, no problem. The problem is is that no other machine can apparently see the site. As far as I can tell, the DNS settings are correct, the web settings are correct and everything is running and all the proper checkmarks are checkmarked.
Any ideas? What might I have missed turning on?

What devices — server-grade gateways, routers, low-grade NAT-only boxes — are located between your OS X Server box server and the Internet?
...This device can control what connections reach your server.
Do you have a static IP connection and a server tier of service configuration with your ISP, or are you attempting to use a residential/dynamic IP address for your server?
...Various ISPs can and variously do block in-bound server-oriented connections and protocols — such as HTTP/80 and HTTPS/443 connections — from their lower tiers of service.
What OS X or OS X Server version are you using?
...Web services management does differ across the recent OS X Server versions.

  • Can "they" see what sites I'm connecting to?

I connect to the internet on my MBP through airport extreme which is connected to a LAN. My question is, can the LAN admins or ISP providers or ANYONE who's in "charge" up there see exactly what sites and pages I have browsed to? I know they can see whether or not I'm connected and using the internet, but how much can "they" see exactly?
I have my firewall enabled as well as firewall logging, blocking udp traffic (whatever that is) and stealth mode. Just curious... I guess I'm a bit paranoid!
    Thanks for your help.

    Ehlimana,
I was a system administrator in a computing lab. We were up to our ears (and a few other body parts!) in computers. We created an inventory database of all our computers and then I created a system that would query the main switch for the company and retrieve all the MAC numbers of computers using our network.
When someone connected an unauthorized computer on our network, within a few seconds I would have a window on my desktop computer showing me the computer's MAC number, IP address and what jack they were plugged into, and a small map showing me which cube the person was sitting in inside the building. If it was through our wireless node, I still had their MAC number.
With that, I had several tools at my disposal with which I could use to find out what they were doing and look at the sites they were visiting. Even if their packets were encrypted, I could still see what site they were visiting.
Not only that, we also had access to the logs, so even if someone was authorized, we could still go through the logs and see who was looking at what.
The point is, whoever owns the network can pretty much see anything they want to see on the network. If you want to keep your surfing private, do it at home on the network you own. And always make sure you have all your security precautions in place!

  • Can't see my Pictures folder when importing in LR5 CC on Mac

I've been using LR5 for a while. When I use the import function I usually set it to import into subfolders By date. And I put them into my Image Master Library folder in my Pictures folder on my Mac. So I end up with my images in Macintosh HD/Users/karl/Pictures/Master Image Library/2014/04/29 for example.
However today when I try to import the only folders I can see under my Macintosh HD are Application, Library, System and User Information. I can't see my Users/karl/Pictures folder any more. I'm not sure if I've done something to stop me seeing it, but I can navigate to it fine in the Finder and see all my images that I've previously imported in there. Plus the images are still showing up in LR ok when I use the Library tab as normal.
I'm really stuck as at the moment I can't import my images into the right place at all. Is this a bug, a setting I've changed, and OS feature???
    Any advice really appreciated!!
    Thanks
    Karl

I have the same problem and can't find the reason...
I updated to Mavericks a week ago... Don't know if this is related, because it worked before...

  • Can't See Files in Folder Copied from External Hard Drive to Desktop

I recently purchased a Jobo Spectator (portable image tank for storing photos). When I connect it (USB) to my iMac I see it and can copy files to my desktop. If I copy an entire folder from the device to my desktop, Finder tells me it contains 0 files and I can't see any files in it. However, if I try to recopy one of the copied files from the Jobo to the folder, Finder tells me the file already exists there and asks if I want to replace it. If I then cancel the copy, all of my copied files show up in the folder. This behavior seems to be consistent. There is no Mac driver for the device. It doesn't look like I'm going to lose any files from this behavior but I find it frustrating.
Does anyone have a clue? Thanks.

A warm welcome to the forums Sue!
The Finder is a bit lackadaisical about updating itself, you can click back & forth enough times, closing folders, opening folders and eventually it'll be in touch, or you can try something like "A Better Finder Attributes", for it's "force the Finder to update stale information about your files" feature.

Possibly this would help too, but haven't tried it...

  • I can't see file in folder

I can't see my file in the actual folder after saving it. Weirdly, I can see the file if I open from Pages. Please help.

Has your Mac been running slowly lately?
Is your hard drive nearly full?
OSX can get quirky when it doesn't have lots of hard drive space to write things. It wants a minimum of about 10% of capacity.
There also can be problems with refreshing the contents of windows in List view.
When I move files up and down list view not infrequently they disappear and I have to nudge the system to show them.
Not a nice thing at all, particularly since it caused me to trash a folder full of my tax files once because I thought it was empty. Since then I do a lot of double checking.

PS Might be time to clean up your hard drive by running Disk Utility from your installer DVD.

Why I can?t see some sites that before I use to see it?

What sites aren't you able to see?  They may have changed their web design to not be so accessible.  See my FAQ* for alternative browsers:

  • Strange, I can't see the catalog folder

    Hi,
I upgraded the catalog from 10g to 11g, in my 10g catalog there were 3 folders,a, b,c and all of them were successfully upgraded to 11g.
I checked and all the three folders reside in Webcatalog folder of 11g, but i am only able to see one catalog folder, a.
other folders b and c are not appearing under shared folders. Strangely, I am able to see the dashboards associated with b and c but when I go to the dashboards, I don 't see anything. No report runs.
I checked the sessions to see if there are any reports which ran but no log for reports on dashboards for b and c.
What could be the issue here ? security? How can I edit that. I am sure that the upgrade was succesfull
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ronny

    Hi All,
Please don't answer this question, I resolved this. The issue was with security.

shows just fine in the browser preview! This problem happens with

I copied and pasted the code into DW and I didn't have a
    problem viewing it,
    A couple of things:
You need to close a a tag here: the > was missing at the

    onmouseover="this.src='./icon/sample04b.jpg'"
    onmouseout="this.src='./icon/sample04c.jpg'" style="cursor:

    You also need to change:

  • Windows Users Can't See My Site

I've posted an iWeb site recently, but my friends on Windows machines claim to get error messages when accessing the site and can't see it. Any ideas?

If you sent them the url by email, it might get broken if too long and not work when they click on it. Make sure you use the shortest possible url, like http://web.mac.com/username and also put it inside <brackets>.

  • Can't see SubFolders under folder placed in public folders\favorites

In Entourage 2004 ver 11.3.3, configured for MS exchange I have selected a folder to be added to my favorites. The folder I have selected has SubFolders listed below it. But when I click on the actual folder in favorites I am not able to drill down to the other folders. I am only able to see the parent folder.
Whereas in outlook 2003 I have the option to add subFolders of the parent folder to view in favorites it seems I do not have the same feature in Entourage.
Is this an issue with Entourage or is there something wrong with how the Entourage client is configured for exchange?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Unfortunately, you used to have BES, and became accustomed to that level of service, which is greater than that available for BIS-level services. Additional mailbox folders are simply not available via BIS-level services. Refer:
Article ID: KB28745 Unable to receive email messages on the integrated account when the messages are being forwarded to another sub folder in the email client

  • Can't See Albums Within Folder on Shared iPhoto Library

My G5 is set to share its iPhoto library, and I can see most of the albums from my Ti-Book's iPhoto. But the Ti-Book can't see G5 albums which are located within iPhoto folders. Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks, Will

I'd like to know the same thing. Why do albums within folders not show up separately when shared?
I've tried searching for this within the discussion area here, but I frankly find searching here to be very unfulfilling. I'm sure the answer is somewhere, but searching all of the obvious words in various combinations (iphoto shared folders albums) produces mostly garbage results. I also love how including quotes around something prompts quotation marks to appear in the search. Brilliant (sarcasm).

  • MS-Outlook 2003 can't see messages in folder restored with imsrestore

Hello. We're using IMS 5.2 under HP/UX. When I restore messages into a new folder with the imsrestore -n command, MS-Outlook sees the folder but it appears empty. It also cannot rename or delete the folder. Outlook says to check the folder permissions. Eudora 5.1 can see the messages, and delete the folder.
I'm using this command because I want to restore message into a new folder so users will be able to easily see what's been restored. I haven't found any reference to this problem from Microsoft or other IMS users. Any ideas?
Here is the imsrestore command that I used:
    imsrestore -f {backup file for single user} -n
    Tape Version : 2
    Backup Date : Thu, 13 Apr 2006 11:28:29
    Incremental : Wed, 12 Apr 2006 01:00:00
    Message Store : mymail
    Block factor : 20
    /mymail/ALL/dpelinka restoring...
    /mymail/ALL/dpelinka/INBOX-> /mymail/ALL/dpelinka/INBOX.041306.152824 restoring...
    /mymail/ALL/dpelinka/INBOX/22455 restoring...
    /

I looked at this problem again today. The command imsrestore -f ${RSTDIR}/${file} -n is successful and creates a new mailbox with a name like: Inbox.042706.162202. The folder and restored messages are visible with our Luminis portal web client, and with Eudora. Outlook 2003 can see the folder but not the messages. If I try to delete the folder with Outlook, it says "unable to delete folder...the server responded 'mailbox does not exist'". This leads me to think there could be some kind of permission problem.
Looking at the mailbox on the server I see this:
    drwx------ 2 lumadmin staff 1024 Apr 14 21:43 =+Archive
    drwx------ 2 lumadmin staff 1024 Apr 14 23:10 =+Deleted

    -rw------- 1 lumadmin staff 201 Apr 27 16:38 store.sub
    -rw------- 1 lumadmin staff 59 Apr 27 16:38 store.usr
Inside the restored folder I see this:
    drwx------ 2 lumadmin staff 1024 Apr 27 16:22 00
    -rw------- 1 lumadmin staff 24116 Apr 27 16:25 store.idx
    -rw------- 1 lumadmin staff 36 Apr 27 16:38 store.usr
The permssions on the files in the restored folder look the same as the other folders. I tried reconstruct -f user/dpelinka/INBOX, but it made no difference. This could be a problem with the IMAP implementation in Outlook. Can you think of any other things I should check? Thanks.
