Can't see Native Authentication Provide while configuing Load Balance Manag

I am configuring Load Balance Manager in FDM 11.1.1.3. I followed the steps as per Oracle, and am setting my local Windows 2003 default Adminstrator account as the username for everything. Everything worked fine upto the point where I specify the authentication provider. I wanted to use Native Authentication, but when I try to "add" an authentication provider, the only option I have is to add Shared Services, Visual Basic Script Authentication and Visual Basic SSO. Can't figure out why Native authentication is not there.
to be completely honest, I don't care what mode it uses as long as it works. What are the implications of using Native vs Shared Services. Say I choose Shared services, do I have to do anything in shared services as part of the configuration?
I am running Hyperion Planning, Essbase.

When you say "native authentication" are you referring to the shared services native directory or are you expecting to see NTLM, MSAD, or LDAP as available authentication providers?
All authentication is now handled via shared services in 11.1.1.3. You will need to specify the provider as shared services and then add your MSAD or LDAP providers within shared services and provision the users for the FDM application(s).
NTLM is no longer supported and has been removed from the FDM list of providers as well as an available external provider option in shared services.

    Hi Samarjit,
    you can do this by specifying the port number in the class map that you create . Please find the below mentioend config guide where you can specify the tcp/udp port , range or ports or even the wild card to match the port.

  • How can I see songs on ipod while using iTunes 7.0.12.6

    You used to be able to click on your ipod and manage all your songs on your ipod in the old itunes. Now when I click on the ipode I can't see anything on it. When I click on the music tab all I see are options to sync. Everything is "grayed" out when it comes to playlists, can't select them. And on the summary sheet I cannot select Enable disk use.

    If you want to manage the tracks on your iPod directly, you need to set your iPod options in iTunes to manually manage the iPod. See "Loading songs onto iPod manually" in your iTunes Help for more information.

  • How can I support a health check, from a load balancer?

    My company has load balancers which use health checks to determine if the end point is available for client traffic. The basic health check is a tcp ping, and will tell you if the device is on the network. The next level of health check is an http request. This request, and the response are static, you can’t create your own version of the request and response. The standard request is this:
         http://host:port/healthcheck/hc.html
    The standard response is this:
         “The server is available”
    I want to use the load balancer as part of my total deployment. The problem is that I am not seeing how to support this health check request and response in the MDEX engine. What I see is this request
         http://host:port/admin?op=ping
    Will return this response
         dgraph <host>: <port> responding at <day month year time>
    It is nice that there is a built in ping, but I am not able to make use of it. I am new to Endeca and still poking around. The dgraph process listens on a port set up in <…>/config/script/AppContext.xml
    <dgraph id="Dgraph1" host-id="MDEXHost" port="3281">
    <properties>
    <property name="restartGroup" value="A" />
    <property name="updateGroup" value="a" />
    </properties>
    <log-dir>./logs/dgraphs/Dgraph1</log-dir>
    <input-dir>./data/dgraphs/Dgraph1/dgraph_input</input-dir>
    <update-dir>./data/dgraphs/Dgraph1/dgraph_input/updates</update-dir>
    </dgraph>
    (I am not using the default port, as I only have an instance on a shared server and have to worry about port clashing. But that is a different thread.)
    In a standard tc Server install I can support this health check by doing this:
    * Create a directory named “healthcheck”, in the “webapps” directory.
    * Place a file name “hc.html” in that directory, which contains “The server is available”
    The one hack which comes to mind is to write a servlet which would be able to be a smart proxy for the load balancer health check. It would pass along any regular traffic to the MDEX engine. But if the request was a health check it would send “admin?op=ping” to the MDEX engine, and for a good response from the engine, create and pass back the correct response to the load balancer.
    Ideas, comments, flames, …
    Thanks

    Hi, we are using following String to test the MDEX ping response but we get the invalid version formation on dgraph.log -
    following is on F5
    GET /admin?op=ping HTTP/1.1/r/nHost:myhost.endeca.com:19000/r/nConnection:close/r/n/r/n
    Following gets logged on Dgraph.log
    WARN 09/05/12 05:30:03.799 UTC (1346823003799) DGRAPH {dgraph} Invalid version format in 'HTTP/1.1/r/nHost:myhost.endeca.com:19000/r/nConnection:close/r/n/r/n'
    Please let me know - if you have any suggestions to solve this issue.
    I know that it works from browser and wget from unix with following commands.
    wget http://myhost.endeca.com:19000/admin?op=ping - from unix command line
    from browser:
    http://myhost.endeca.com:19000/admin?op=ping

  • Coherence Extend Address-provider for dynamic load balancing

    Hi,
    I want to have load balancing across my proxies. so, trying to use <address-provider> feature.
    Here is my setup,
    I have two proxies and many clients.I am configuring both proxy and the client to use load sharing scheme.
    There are implemented classes for the interface AddressProvider. So, i am going to use that.
    Here is proxy server settings,
    <proxy-scheme>
    <service-name>ExtendTcpProxyService</service-name>
    <thread-count>10</thread-count>
    <acceptor-config>
    <tcp-acceptor>
    <address-provider>
    <class-name>com.tangosol.net.RefreshableAddressProvider</class-name>
    </address-provider>
    </tcp-acceptor>
    </acceptor-config>
    <autostart>true</autostart>
    </proxy-scheme>
    I know there is some silly mistake with that,

    First question:
    1) without address provider section in the proxy server configuration xml, will it use any default address provider implementation?
    2) what's wrong with the proxy server settings xml which causes above error?
    Thanks
    Prab

    Hi LuK,
    Sounds like there is no load balancing is happening in my environment.
    I didn't use address provider tag since it's mentioned in AddressProvider Interface API that by default it uses ConfigurableAddressProvider implementation.
    Here is a xml snippet in remote client cache configuration xml,
    <tcp-initiator>
    *<remote-addresses>*
    *<socket-address>*
    *<address>PROXY-A</address>*
    *<port>9099</port>*
    *</socket-address>*
    *<socket-address>*
    *<address>PROXY-B</address>*
    *<port>9099</port>*
    *</socket-address>*
    *</remote-addresses>*
    <connect-timeout>10s</connect-timeout>
    </tcp-initiator>
    what i mean by load balancing is,
    I will be having lot of web service queries which runs very fast. I would like to see both the proxies serves the web requests.
    I am observing, One connection has been made to one proxy when it's starts up and keep hold on to it (no matter whether other proxy is free or not).
    is it a bug? or am i doing some mistake?
    Thanks
    Prab

    Is your backend system configured correctly in your SLD ?
    Go to transaction SMMS on your backend system that your are connecting to. Click on Goto=>Parameters=>Display. Look for "server port" value.
    This should give you the TCP/IP port for your message server. It could be 3600 or 3601 (36NN - where NN is the instance number).
    In your services file, if you made the entry at the end of the file, press Enter (Return) after your entry.
    Try restarting your server after making the above changes.

    Hi Heidi,
    I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
    This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
    Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
    The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
    I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again

  • Can't see OS X disk while booted into OS 9

    There are a couple of apps I really need to use, that won't run in Classic; they won't go past 9.0.4. I have OS X and the OS 9 stuff on separate physical drives.
    The OS X "Startup Disk" pref will let me select the OS 9 system OK, but once there, the OS 9 "Startup Disk" CP doesn't offer the OS X disk as an option.
    Only way I've figured out to get back is to physically disconnect the OS 9 disk and power up, but that's a pain.
    what do I need to do to get OS 9 to recognize the OS X disk?

    Blue & White Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Well, thanks for the advice, at least it confirmed that I wasn't overlooking something stupid.
    I gave the problem some more thought, and recalled something I'd been doing with Macs for years, but never tried with OS X.
    From time to time, I've needed to have more than one system folder on a given Mac; sometimes it's just being "stored" there, or sometimes for other reasons. Often, I do not want the Mac to know about those system folders. I discovered that I could just move the System file into the Control Panel folder, and the Mac wouldn't recognize it as bootable. Move the System back out, and it's bootable again.
    So that's the (awkward) solution. From OS 9.0.4, when I'm ready to boot back into X, I move the OS 9 System file into the CP folder and restart. I get a warning that the Mac may not be bootable, and click OK.
    After the reboot, there's a loooong wait while the Mac looks around for something bootable, but eventually it finds the OS X system, and boots to it just fine.
    IF YOU TRY THIS, USE CAUTION: I have OS 9 and OS X installed on separate physical disks, so I can always disconnect one if I can't make the Mac stop booting from it. I haven't tried this stunt with a partitioned drive, and I have no idea whether it would work.
    Also, next time you want to boot into OS 9, you have to remember to move the System file back out of the CP folder before you select OS 9 and restart.

  • I can't see my profile picture while playing games

    WWhy can't I see my profile picture when connected to Facebook playing games?

    Do you by chance have Logitech QuickCam webcam connected to your computer?
    You can also try to reset all Skype settings.
    Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
    N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • How can I see what I write while "write on" is enabled

    I want to track what I write on my graphic tablet. When I apply the "Write On" behavior afterwards, all strokes are "written" with the same speed, so it has to be the "live" version of "Write On".
    My problem is: When I lift the pen, for example to draw the dot on the "i", I cannot see what I drew before. In the case of the i-Dot this is OK, but when it comes to multiple letters, its a problem. Is there a way to display what I wrote immediately after I lift the pen, so I don't have to write "in darkness"?

    Select it in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu.
