Can't see non-sync titles on AppleTV

I used to be able to see the non-synced movie titles on my AppleTV as long as iTunes was running. Since the upgrade (2.2), I only see synced titles. I have the box checked to display the non-sync movies but don't anymore. Am I missing something new that was added?

I don't see those that movies that aren't physically on the ATV. Even when they are being copied over, I don't see them until after they are finished copying. It's worked fine for months, but not since I upgraded.
I'd tend to agree with tmartine about restarting the tv. On your other issue where synced movies aren't available until they have fully synced, I suspect this might be intended under the new software. Previously if you started to watch something that was syncing it would stop and start streaming it, I can see the newer behaviour being wholly more practical.

How can I see the entire "title" of a page (now truncated)?

I see that Firefox is now truncating the "title" of web pages. I cannot see any good reason for this because the space to the right of the title is blank. I think it was done in the "do anything to make changes to Firefox" department but in this case it is not an improvement and provides the user with less information.
How can I fix the browser so I can again see the entire "title" as provided by the web page designer? I don't want to take extra steps (if any) to see it. I want it to display automatically each time.

That is on the tab. A tab has a maximum width because otherwise a long title would cover the full tab width.
You can make the Windows title bar visible again in the open the customize window via the 3-bar Firefox menu button (Customize is at the bottom left).<br />
There you will find the choice to have the title bar visible.

Forgot to mention. There is a limit to the number of bookmarks that is supported when Syncing. If you have over 5000 bookmarks they are not transferred.

Thanks for the reply. The Itunes trouble shooting in Itunes help. I don't get an error message, it just states can't see ipod like if it wasn't plugged in. I do get an error message on a few of the songs when sync that say error 50, and state that they can't be loaded to ipod. The weird thing is that I can load all of my libary except the latest 3 albums. They are in my libary but they won't load. I'm not sure but it seems like it started when the cloud came about from amazon which is where I buy most of my music.

Updated to 10.4.1 and can't see the menu titles or the song names, even though they are there and can be played. the other categories (tv, apps, etc) seem to be OK.

i just upgraded my pc to windows 7 and itunes to 10.4.1, but i can't see the menu items at the top left of itunes. they are there, because if i move my mouse over the area where they should be, i see and can select from the drop down menus. this problem also affects my music library; i cannot see the individual song names/artists/etc, but if i double click on the blank line it does play the song. the app library and video library seem OK, only the music library is a problem. also, when i connect my iphone, it recognizes it, but the main screen for my device has no words on it, just a picture of the phone.

Hi, Sanjiv - My son fixed this problem for me by showing me that in addition to the visible volume slider at the top left of the iTunes window you also need to pull down the blue airplay menu right alongside that volume slider (the little blue box with the triangle). When you pull down that menu you will see volume settings for "computer" which controls the built-in speakers, plus a list of the other external speakers you may have set up using Airport. When I did that I saw that the volume on "computer" was right down at zero levl even though the main iTunes slider was at full level. When I selected the "computer" under "single" or "multiple" options and adjusted the volume it came back up. It worked for me, I hope it solves your issue too. Best, John.

How can I see my iphoto pictures on AppleTV via itune?

When I choose "Photo sharing preferences" in itune I can't see my picture folders from iphoto. There are zero photos available whereas I have thousands... Home sharing is turned on. It seems that the picture library cannot be found.

when your phone is plugged in, on itunes you click your device. and on the device summary page, there are 4-5 tabs. one of the tabs is photos. you can choose the photos file you want to add to your phone there.

Can't see non-RAID SATA on promise in XP

First of all, I just spent over an hour searching and reading the forums trying to find an answer, and couldn't, so I reluctantly have to turn to posting an issue that probably has been covered before.
Simple issue: When setting the Promise controller to "as SATA" in the AMI BIOS, I can't see the disks in Windows XP. However, when I set the controller to "as RAID", and configure an array on the disks via the Promise BIOS (ctrl-F), I see the RAID array just fine in XP. Promise Fasttrack 378/478 drivers were installed during initial XP installation.
Also, I note that while I don't get the ctrl-F prompt for the Promise BIOS array configuration when the Promise controller is set to "as SATA" in AMIBIOS, I do see the Promise chip identify the disks as D0 and D1 in a very quick message that flashes by.
Is there a different driver I need to load for the Promise controller if I'm n ot using the SATA and IDE3 ports for RAID? Some particular arrangement of settings for the other On-Chip I/O that I need to be careful of?

Yes there are 2 separate drivers.
The Promise U-SATA drivers are on the floppy as well as the MSI CD.
Generally the floppy is only used during the install of WinXP where XP is installed on the Promise controller.
In your case, you already have XP installed on another drive and want to add the Promise U-SATA driver. Using the MSI CD would be preferable because it should auto-detect your hardware and offer the correct Promise driver providing you have Bios>>Peripheral Devices>>Promise Controller-"As SATA" selected.
It took me a while to figure out that the CD offers different choices depending on how you have the Bios set up.
After the drivers are installed correctly, you may have to use Windows Disk Manager(or a 3rd party util. if you have) to partition/format the drives before they show up in Explorer.

Can't see relocated iPhoto library in AppleTV

I moved my iPhoto Library folder to a new location, and everything is working fine with the new location in iPhoto. However, when setting up AppleTV in iTunes, it doesn't see the relocated library (looks like it only looks in the default location) and when I try to browse to the relocated folder, it is grayed out and won't let me select it. Anybody else experience this and has anyone found a workaround/solution?

My AppleTV is already setup to work with this library, but for the sake of argument, I re-did this. No go. I think the problem may be with iTunes' inability to deal with an iPhoto library that isn't in the default location. It worked fine before the path change. In the AppleTV device config within iTunes, in the photo setup, the iPhoto option shows 0 photos, 0 albums. In the actual iPhotos, everything is fine.. albums work fine, imports to the new location work fine, etc. My assumption is that the AppleTV sync with iTunes works directly with the iPhoto Albums folder and directly with those config files and photo directories. It's probably only looking in the default location, and therefore, not working. If this is the case, it's surprising because many people move the default path of their iPhoto Library.
When I try to browse to the location of my iPhoto Library folder, that folder is grayed out and can't be selected.

is there a way to widen the width of the title columns in the itunes store so that you can tell if a song is a remix or not before you buy it? also I don't seem to be able to sort a list that came up for a search by anything other than relevency.

One way is to play a song's preview and note the information displayed in the iTunes progress bar.

I would recommend transferring your purchases to your computer. After the transfer is complete your media should be in your iTunes library. If the indicator that your iPad will be erased appears, just sync the transferred media. Only media purchased via iTunes with your Apple ID will transfer. From there, you should be able to backup.
