Can't see pasted in Smart Object

When I make a shape in Ai CS4 and paste it into Ps CS4, a dialog comes up and asks how I would like to paste it. I click Smart Object and when it pastes in I can see the transformation box but I can't see the object. I click return to place the object, still can't see it. The layer is on the top and for fun I right click to select pixels, nothing gets selected. I have also tried all the other options when it comes to pasting my shape in, and get the same results.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? Why can't I see the object that I paste in?

Check the Illustrator artwork, and the placement of the artwork relative to the art bounds in Illustrator.

Can We Paste Photoshop Smart Objects Into Illustrator (as Linked/Embedded)?

Since raster editing is much more limited in Illustrator, is there a way to link or embed an individual Smart Object from Photoshop into Illustrator? I know there is an option to Place a file into Illustrator. But what if I have a larger Photoshop document with many Smart Objects in it, and just want to copy and paste one of those into Illustrator, but also have it update when I update it in Photoshop. Is this possible?

Copy and Paste won't have a link to the original file. Only Place can have that.

Problem with pasting a smart object in Photoshop

I create artworks using both Illustrator and Photoshop by pasting different elements as smart objects in Photoshop on different layers but I often have a problem.
To make the pasted content positioned exactly on the same place as in Illustrator, I create a box with no fill and stroke encompassing the whole artwork (with the thick pink frame on the image below) and paste different elements along with the encompassing box on different layers in Photoshop.
The problem is that often during the creation of the artwork it may require using a clipping path containing objects bigger than the encompassing box. Then when pasting in Photoshop the size of the bounding box containing the invisible parts of the objects is factored in instead of the visible parts only.
The image bolow is a simplified example. On the left side is the selection in Illustrator but when pasted in Photoshop although it keeps the same visibility as on the left size, the encompassing frame is the bounding box shown on the right side and this messes up the position of the placed objects. I know the problem can be avoided if I know in advance how big the eventual artwork including the invisible objects would be and create an encompassing box big enough but often this is not the case. What do yo think would be the easiest way to fix this problem once it occurs?

Just so you are aware, photoshop has a bug when sensing illustrator files.
If your starting with a new document and letting photoshop sense the size from the clipboard, set the physical size to inches or centimeters before changing the ppi from 72 to 300. By default, photoshop is set to pixel dimentions and ppi is disabled even though you can type in a new value, it does not alter the size any.

How to paste a Smart Object in a consistent and proportional size onto a Photo in Photoshop CC?

I am a photographer and want my signature on every photo I print. I have created the text I want in Illustrator and have been dragging that text into Photoshop.When I do this I am asked if I want it to be a Smart Object or Pixels, Path or shape layer. I have been choosing it to be a smart object. When I try and place it on my photograph, the sizes that the text come into Photoshop per photo can vary. I would like all of my signatures to be proportionally the same size all across my print sizes. How do I accomplish this?

I pasted the signature at 1.75" on my photo and printed it on 8.5"X11" paper, measured it's actual size once printed and it is 1 1/8" on the paper. Am I missing something in the sizing of the picture? How can I make it to come out the same size and consistent.

Paste as smart object in Photoshop gets a "pixel" result (antialiasing not working)

Since I started to use the Adobe CC suite, I can't paste smart objects from Illustrator to Photoshop as I usually did. When I paste the object, the result is a non-antialised artwork. It only works when I paste as a shape.

Can you have the same smart object in two files?

The situation:
I have a 'base' file A, with two (different) smart objects B and C. Now I want B and C to both contain a third smart object D, and I can't get that to work.
I can place the same file as a smart object in B and C, but it becomes two different smart objects, which are seperately editable. I would like to be able to edit smart object D and the changes to be visible in both B and C and in turn in A.
Is this at all possible?
and please, I'm not looking for workarounds. I have plenty of those, but it would save me a lot of time time if this were possible.

How do I (or can I) convert an embedded smart object into a linked smart object

If I start with an embedded Smart Object (S.O)., can I easily convert in into a linked type of S.O.? I have not seen this feature available in the tooling yet. Please advise.

Since an embedded smart object is, well, embedded, there's no way to just convert. You'll have to point a link somewhere.
If you want to keep the smart object as is, open it and "Save As" to a new location, then link to that (Place Linked). Then delete the old.

Can't copy/paste or move objects.

Entire Edit Menu, other than "Clear" is grayed out – can't copy/paste anything. Also can't move objects with direct selection tool. Reset preferences and still have same problem. Ideas?

I just had this problem as well. I'm using InDesign CS6, MacOS 10.6.8 where my cut & Paste grayed out and after I made any kind of object. Even though I could select it, I couldn't drag it/move it UNLESS I used my arrow keys to do so. I tried deleting my prefs and restarting InDesign multiple times as listed above but after a full shut down and restart of my machine I finally saw operations return to normal.
Just an FYI.

Calendar- can't see past events

I just purcahsed the Galaxy S3 a few weeks ago and I can not see my past events on my calendar for the past 2 months. I have a google account and I don't know what to do?

As a fellow calendar user, I can certainly understand how this feature is super important to you! May I ask have you tried the suggestion that maya0630 provided? It would be best to confirm that the calendar is set to Google so you can manage it online from a computer. If you can be so kind as to update me on the status of this issue then that would be great.

i tried yesterday the all day to do this , diplicate a raw smart object to normal layer
i mean i open a raw file with camera raw
i click shift + open
i have a raw smart object
i click 2 to the smart object (i can edit with camera raw)
now i have 1 layer (smart object with the camera raw settings
can i duplicate this smart object to a normal layer??
my purpose is
have 3 o 4 layer of the same photo with different camera raw settings

I need a vector smart logo that is on a PSD layer as a vector file in illustrator so I can plot cut on a vinyl cutter. How can I make sure the logo transfers as .ai at the exact size showen in the Photoshop document? I remember doiing this a few years ago but forgot the proceedure. It's probably a very easy step and once I have the answer I'll say "oh that's right I remember now" The export path to Ilustrator only gives me the saved paths in this document.

Paste as Smart Object from Ai to Ps not working. Boundary box is there but art is missing.

Paste as shape layer works and so does paste as outline but Smart Object and pixels paste not working. I have the latest versions of each program.

Are you sure the copied Path has Fill or Stroke?

How can I see past events in iCal 5.0?

I use iCal to schedule jobs for customers and it does not let me see any events in the past when I use the search. Is there a setting or something? I can scroll back and see them but I can't search for them.

This may be a bug for all that I know but I am too cynical to believe that.
From everything that I have read, it appears as though Apple did remove the feature. What the reasons could be for that are beyond me. And I did find the paragraph that states that feature exists in the iPad. I copied this from the iPad User Guide for iOS 5. The free book that I downloaded in iBooks.
"Display a song’s lyrics
Display the album cover by tapping the thumbnail at the top of the screen. Lyrics appear if you’ve added them to the song using the song’s Info window in iTunes."
However, who knows with Apple anymore. Case in point - Apple changed the wording on their website about multitouch gestures being one of the new features of iOS 5, a day or two after the update came out. They decided to release the feature to work on the iPad 2 only - even though the website promoted the feature as being one of the new features for the "iPad" for months leading up to the release - leading all users to believe that it would work on the iPad 1 as well. I don't know if you read any of those threads but the screaming is finally starting to die down on that one.
My point is that even thought the guide says that the song lyrics works, I have not read of anyone that can confirm that it does. Maybe someone else will confirm that the feature is in the iOS, but I don't believe that it is. So for the time being - for me anyway - it is not a bug - but another "why did they do that" decision by Apple.
