Can't see people on facetime

Can some one please help me with my facetime, both sides of my camera isn't working and the only thing my friend can see is a black screen and i can only see him.

-If the camera is not working in the Camera app I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Other users have had their iPod replace because the camera no longer worked.
- Have you reset your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-have you tried restoring your iPod vi iTunes?

  • Can not see myself on FaceTime iPhone 4S

The person am calling on FaceTime can't see me and I can't not see myself on iPhone 4S FaceTime

  • Use Cellular data for: with 8.1.1 in my iPhone 5, I can only see two options 'FaceTime' and ''Passbook'. Any idea why cannot I see other apps to turn on with cellular data ???

Can not use all apps with cellular data

In Settings/General/Restrictions if you tap on Cellular Data Use there should be 2 options: Allow Changes or Don't Allow Changes. If you don't see these options is that where you see "Cellular data is turned off for 'Setting'?

  • Can't see my buddies' status messages when they are available.

So, I don't know if anyone knows how to fix this, but I've already checked the prefs, and there's nothing in there about this.
If you have any idea how I can fix this, please please let me know.
I can only see people's messages when they are away. I can also see the little arrow when they have the message set to Itunes, but the song doesn't show up, only the little arrow which connects you to the Itunes music store.
That's pretty much all I can tell you. So please help me if you can.

    This is ridiculous.
No it isn't. It's just mildly inconvenient because a fun feature of iChat is temporarily offline.
I wish Apple would buy AOL.
Why? Because AIM status messages are that vital to you, or because you'd like to see Apple waste cash on a redundant, failing dinosaur like AOL?

  • Facetime on iPad 2/iPhone 4: I Can't See Her

I have an iPhone 4 and my wife just got an iPad 2. She successfully set up an Apple ID to use with Facetime and we can Facetime call each other with one major fault: I can't see her at all. On my iPhone 4 I just see myself up in the top right corner, but the rest of the screen is black.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that this could be a router issue, but I don't know where I might have read that or what the fix was. She is on our home network. Do I need to open a port on the router or something?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, I've just finished with all the troubleshooting steps and still nothing. As well as me not being able to see my wife, the small picture in the top right that should be her is a frozen image of me (i.e. not a live, updating video of herself). I've tried various configurations, including other people's iPhones and my own computer on the same network, all with the same result that the person on the other end of a Facetime chat with her shiny new iPad 2 can't see her.
    Anyone have any other ideas?

  • I bought an I pad 2 from us but I can not activate the Facetime in UAE(Dubai)as I can not see the country in the I pad's  drop list, anyone has an idea as how to resolve this issue

I'm not that familiar with how FaceTime works. I know how to set It up but I don't use it. I just know that you can't activate in the UAE. I believe that you can activate in any country that permits it's use. Whether you will need a new ID or not, I can't confirm.
You can Google this and get all sorts of articles on workarounds. Apparently if you set up a VPN you can use it in the UAE. Here is one article that I found.

I Googled "workaround for FaceTime in UAE" to find this.

  • My ipad mail is synced to my iMac mail account. On iPad, I can only see my inbox and sent messages. I can't see any of the folders I have created on my iMac. How do I do that? Probably a dumb question, but I know there's a lot of smart people out there!

My iPad mail is synced to my private email account, which I organise on my iMac. On iPad, I can only see inbox and sent messages folders, not any of the other folders in my email account I have created on my iMac. How do I get iPad to show my other folders? Probably a dumb question, but I know there's a lot of smart people out there.

If you select a mailbox, you should get an Edit button (easier to see in landscape mode). Clicking the button will provide you with check circles for the messages. You also get Delete and Move buttons at the bottom. Check the messages you want to move and then navigate to the mailbox you want to drop them into. I think as long as you can navigate to a mailbox you can move the messages to it.
In the Mac Mail application and probably Outlook on the Windows side, you also setup rules to move messages to specific mailboxes. If the mailboxes are stored on the server, then you can have the sorting done on the server and they should appear that way on the iPad. If your later messages do not show up, you may need to have the iPad app pulled down more messages until they are all showing.

  • HT5616 How can you see a list of devices registered to use our apple ID for FaceTime and other services?

Sometimes I will get a notification that x device is using my apple ID for FaceTime (or other services). Sometimes it is just generic Mac Book Pro. His can I see which devices are using my ID (and can you see more details than just the name)?

I just started getting this message too.  Just started the last couple of days.  It doesn't give a time that it was used.  All it says that "appleid" was used to sign in to facetime on Macbook.  My Macbook is not named "Macbook."  It also doesn't correlate to times when computer is being used.

  • I see people from different ages at my work and every month I need to count how many people from each age I've seen that month. How can I do to give the entries to numbers in a single cell and make numbers count them for me?

I see people from different ages at my work and every month I need to count how many people from each age I've seen that month. How can I do to give the entries to numbers in a single cell and make numbers count them for me? The final result would be a spreadsheet telling there were 8 people from 20 to 39 years old, 14 peolple from 40 to 59 and so on...

This appears to be an 'input form' using 'Radio Buttons' to select the category. Neither of these features are supported in Numbers '09.
You can input the data on one table and summarize it on a second table, but the input table will continue to hold data for each event.
And by using the Reorganize button, you can hide all but two rows of that table to approximate the appearance and performance of an input form.
Here are the two tables, Data on the left and Summary on the right. Notes below.
The grey-filled columns in both tables are 'working' columns, and may be hidden (as shown in the image below).
    Data table:
D1 contains the word "TRUE" (in capital letters). (This row is always shown.)
D2 is empty, or may contain any value except "TRUE" (This row is always hidden under the Reorganize rule.)The rest of Row 2 of this table requires the data shown: a number outside the range to be counted (999), and two checkboxes, both checked.
D3 (and filled down the rest of column D):   =AND(OR(B2,C2),NOT(OR(B3,C3)))
The formula returns TRUE only for the first unused row in the table (ie. the first row for which neither checkbox has been checked)
    Summary table:
Column A contains labels for the age ranges to be counted.
Column B contains the same information in the form necessary for the formulas in columns C and D. They need a numeric value, and that value must be the largest acceptable value in the range to be counted.
C2 (and filled right to column D, then both filled down to row 5):
        =COUNTIFS(Data :: $A,"<="&$B,Data :: B,TRUE)-SUM(C$1:C1)
Two changes from the previous example:
COUNTIFS is used to separate the Native and Foreign counts as well as the age range to be counted.
The amount subtracted from each result is the SUM of the earlier results, and includes the text value in the first cell of the column (which is interpreted by SUM as a zero).
See note below regarding my earlier formula.
When the greyed columns are hidden and the checkbox in the Reorganize pane is checked, the two tables will appear as shown below:
Close the reorganize pane, and the 'data entry form' is ready to use.
To use, enter the age first, then check one of the boxes.
As soon as one box is checked, the row will be hidden, and the next (unused) row will be shown.
    Regards,
    Barry
Note regarding formula in my earlier post:
The earlier formula will give erroneous results as it subtracts only the count directly above it from its count of persons in the age range 0-n.
In E2 of that table, replace "-E1" with "-SUM(E1:E$1)
    Fill down to E8.
Ignore the instructions (in that post) following "Fill down to E8."

  • How can i see how many people are using my apple id without changing the password ?

how can i see how many people are using my apple id without changing because some people have it

I'm not sure that you can. Why have so many people got your password? So many in fact, that you don't know how many.
You can see how many computers are authorised to play any songs you have purchased from the iTunes Store, but that isn't quite the same thing.
Perhaps a better idea would be to change the password and not let anyone else know what it is. That would at least prevent anyone else from changing it and locking you out of your own account.

    FaceTime:
Check Settings>FaceTime>ON and check Settings>General>Restrictions>FaceTime>ON.  There is no icon, on the 4 & 4S FaceTime is accessed through contacts.  Go into your Contacts, access the contact you want to FaceTime with and you will see a tab at the bottom of their contact card.  You can also access FaceTime by going into your Phone app, select dialling keypad, dial number, press call and an option for FaceTime on the keypad will appear.   It should be noted that FaceTime has been removed from iPhones sold in some Middle Eastern countries at the express wish of the respective Governments.
    iMessage:
Check Settings>Messages>iMessage>ON.  The icon is the same as your SMS icon. This support document will explain how to use iMessage http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529

There is no way you can activate Facetime on an iPod touch purchased in the UAE. The government there required Apple to lock off Facetime at the hardware level and there's no way to unlock it. Reinstalling iOS, regardless of country, will not help. If you want Facetime, you will need to sell your UAE-version iPod and buy one there in India.
