Can't see photos taken in tether

I have a Nikon D3S tethered to Lightroom 3 (v3.6) Lightroom detects my camera and all settings are correct. When I release the shutter on the camera no photo shows in Lightroom library.
Tried all of the suggestions and I have everything in order but still no images pop up. Nikon Camera Capture Pro was no better. A big disappointment. Any solutions? Thanks!

If you have everything set up correctly, you should be seeing the photo. Especially in NCCP.
So either you've made a mistake somewhere in setting up, or you have a hardware problem in your camera, cable, or computer. Try switching the cable and the computer. If no joy there, you may have to get Nikon to check out your D3S.

Check Settings>iCloud to be sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account with photo stream enabled. Also, only photos taken after enabling photo stream are uploaded, not earlier photos. They are uploaded when the camera is closed, you are connected to wifi, and your device has at least 20% battery life remaining.

If that fails:

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Why can I see photos in photo view, but now event view?

Why can I see photos in photo view, but not in event view. The event shows up, but when I open the event, it says there are no photos in the event. The only way I can actually open a photo in the event is to be in photo view, and open the photo from that view.

It's Shaunn, the original poster. Thanks for your posting. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's having this problem.
Now that you mention it, I'm having the exact same problem on Facebook as well, when I play Family Feud.
I wish someone would investigate and post a solution to this problem. No-one from Playlist has responded, and no-one "Officially" from Firefox either.
So Mariah, I appreciate you and your post.

Ah, you had Photoshop 7.0 working, and now it's not. I see that as a separate issue to updating it. I'm not sure why it would ask you to update it.
Do you know whether you have 7.0 or 7.0.1 at this point? You might be able to do a Properties function on Photoshp.exe and see that info.
You could make an attempt to reset Photoshop's preferences to defaults. Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt simultaneously immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be really quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences, which will lead to the establishment of a fresh default set. If it does not prompt you, you haven't been quick enough to get the keys down.
Only other thing that comes to mind is to use Windows System Restore to restore back to a restore point where Photoshop was working, or restore from a backup (you do make backups I hope).
If that fails, and you need to do a fresh install but no longer have the original disk and serial number I'm afraid you may be out of luck. There's no place I know of from which to download a fresh full copy of Photoshop 7.0.

TS4062 I can't see videos I have taken on my ipad either in iCloud or when I sync my ipad to my macbookpro (both are up to date) I can only see photos? The videos are only few seconds long?

I can't see videos i have taken on my ipad in the iCloud all synced as i can see the still photos i have taken but not the videos. The videos are only a few seconds long. I have also tried syncing via USB cable from iPad to my Macbookpro and it wont sync either the photos or the videos in iTunes I have re checked the sync set up in itunes bt still nothing?

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

Can't see photos on a PC formatted CD-R

I was given a CD-R by my father-in-law containing some photos of my kids that were taken on a day trip.
The disc has a semi-colon at the end of the disc name.
It contains items called:
autorun.inf
cdgo.psd
cdgo.tre
files.txt
PicasaCD.exe
Pictures (This one's a folder)
setup.exe
Unfortunately, when I look in the folder entitled "Pictures" I see the title of the first photo (which incidentally contains a semi-colon) with no preview icon & nothing else.
The disc plays fine on my DVD player & I can view the photos there but I'd like to add them to my iPhoto library so that I can get prints done.
I'm used to PCs not being able to read Mac discs in the old days but I've never had a problem viewing PC discs on a Mac before.
Could anyone shed any light?
(The reason I mention the semi-colon is because I once had a problem when I sent a mac disc to a PC user who could only see half the file names on some of the photos & it turned out it was because I used an asterisk in them which caused the file names to truncate. So, maybe a semi-colon is an illegal character in Mac file names.)

Perhaps the files have a period or something at the beginning of the file names? You'll need to enable the viewing of hidden files - there are several ways to do this. The one I use is typing (copy and pasting) "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool YES" (without the quotation marks) into terminal, then pressing enter, then relaunching finder. Once you're done looking/working with the hidden files, repeat the procedure subbing NO for the YES.
Just an idea - I don't know if this'll solve the problem.

iTunes isn't used to copy photos to your computer from the iPad. For photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page i.e.on a PC you can use Windows Explorer (the iPad should appear as a 'camera') or the Windows Camera Wizard.
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

Can't see photos copied over from old mac - any ideas?

I copied my photo library over from my old mac (same method as I used for my iTunes library, which worked) to my new one. I just dragged out the original empty library folder and put the one from the old mac in its place. Non of the photos showed up.
I figured I would deal with it later and have since added photos from my camera. I am now trying to see the older photos but no luck. My photo library, seen from within iPhoto, has albums for the years listed but without the pictures.
I did the rebuild but that didn't change anything. I tried importing them but iPhoto tells my I can't import them since they are already in the library.
Anyone know how to solve this?

Do you still have a copy of your original library from the old Mac?
If so try the following:
1 - copy it again to the Pictures folder.
2 - download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administartive name in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
3 - launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and select that library folder to open.
Now see if the album gets converted correctly. You can move your other iPhoto library folders to the desktop temporarily until you see if this procedure is any more successful.
Also update to 10.4.9 with the COMBO updater and update Quicktime to the latest version, 7.1.5. Of course repair disk permissions afterward with Disk Utility.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
