Can't see scanner...

I have a Canoscan 8800f that I use through Photostudio or MP Navigator Ex. I recently installed a new Canon MP620 printer.
Now when I open Photostudo or MP Navigator Ex it is seeing the printer as the default devise, and I can't even find or select the Canoscan 8800f.
I just downloaded the latest driver for the 8800f, but still can't see it.

Help Xerox c1190 All in one MFP. All working but can not see Scanner

Hi all,
I hope someone can help. I just bought a new Xerox C1190 MFP. I run a small wireless network via airport express b/g and an imac and macbook pro.
I connected the xeroc all in one to the airport by USB
After a long tough search i found the up dated drivers for 10.6.2 and all working fine except for the scanner.
Image ready and the network just cannot see the scanner. No matter what i do. Driving me nuts. No info anywwhere. The singapore xerox people say its an apple problem abd the apple people say its a xerox problem.
Image ready just can not see the scanner but in the print and fax preferences i can see the printer and printer works no problem. The scanner just does not appear connected.
Has anybody got any idea on how to solve this problem?
Also, i read in the manual that you can set up the Xerox by USB AND Ethernet. I thought i could run the printer on USB and set up the scanner to run on as a network IP item. Basically set up the Xerox to run as both USB and Network IP .
My problem is that when it comes to setting up IP address and stuff like that i need step by step instructions. Completely confused about IP addressing and how to set up a network item.
Could anyone please help.

Can't 'see' scanner in CS5

I've recently installed CS5 Extended and, when I go to FILE...Import, my scanner is not shown (I only get 'Video Frames to Layers' and 'WIA Support')
I've still got Version 7 (still use to odd bit of ImageReady) and CS4 Extended installed and I can access my scanner through both of these.
I've had a good trawl through Preferences, but no luck.

The TWAIN driver was not included in CS5.

Image Capture can't see scanner

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and while the printer function of my Canon MP 180 is working, the scanner is not working now. Image Capture doesn't see the scanner. Following advice on this forum, I deleted the printer in system preferences > print&scan and the reinstalled it a few times. I also downloaded the 2 available (but old) drivers from Canon. Still nothing works. Can anyone help?

Canon Australia is hosting a scanner driver for 10.8 and MP Navigator v3.0.5 for your MP180. Install the scanner driver first and then MP Navigator.
Note that Canon is not hosting an ICA driver for this model, which is used by Image Capture and Preview. So this would explain the lack of the scanner entry in the KB article that Clinton has mentioned (the vendors make the drivers - Apple just hosts them).

I see by your post that you can't scan over the wireless network. I can help you with this.
What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Check to make sure the correct driver is installed.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
If the proper name isn't listed, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list.
Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
From the Printers and Scanners window, highlight the printer, you should have a Scan tab, then select Open Scanner. If it isn't listed, let me know. Here is a screen shot, but it is a different model.
What is the printer name listed as?
If the issue persists, connect the printer to the Mac by a USB connection and try and scan. Just to rule this out.

Yes, actually the little triangle bottom left can show the profile. Oddly enough my scan didnt enter PSCS5 with a profile, even though the triangle shows profiles for the scanner...

I see no printers available in the Print & Scan area. If I click "+" it seems to see the scanner, but never the printer. HELP!

The printer component uses a different protocol to advertise itself on the network compared to the scanner component and it can take several seconds longer to appear after the scanner has.
That said, with the introduction of AirPrint, the MG should be seen as Bonjour Multifunction in the Add Printer window, as shown below.
Selecting this Bonjour Multifunction entry will create a printer using AirPrint and a scanner using the iCA driver.
So do you see the MG5220 as Bonjour Multifunction or just Bonjour?

Image Capture can't see Epson v700 scanner in Lion:

Never Mind. Fixed It. I re-installed the scanner software (dated July 2009) and everything is fine now. I don't know how Drivers from before Lion, and the same version # as I was already using, could fix this... but it did. Maybe someone in the same boat will find it useful. I've recently upgraded my OS X 10.6.8 to Lion... currently at 10.7.4. I have an Epson v700 scanner, connected via USB, that works with the Epson Scan application and with VueScan. But Image Capture can't see it. I installed the ICA driver update from Epson. I've done the OS X Software Update. No help so far.
I can't install the Epson v700 in the Print & Scan preferences pane as well because it just seem to "see" any scanners. I had earlier deleted the scanner because an Epson KB article had said to delete the scanner, then do the OS X Software Update, then to re-add the scanner. But the scanner is not being seen by OS X directly so I can't add it back... though Epson Scan and VueScan seem to be able to scan. Very odd.
Any other suggestions?

Windows 8 can't see my scanner (MX892). How can I fix this?

I just got an MX892 and the CD wouldn't install (said the printer driver was in use). I worked on this for awhile and gave up and installed the primter driver from the Canon website. Now I can print and I can scan with the Canon utility. But, Windows 8 Fax and Scan can't see the scanner. It used to see my old MX882 just fine (and that software loaded just fine).
Any help on how to resolve this is appreciated. Steve

Glad to hear you were able to install the drivers. The Windows Fax and Scan program will connect you to the very basic functions of your scanner. The more advanced features (like edge detection, scanning from ADF, etc) are available when using the Canon scanning software. I recommend using the software (IJ Scan Utility or MP Navigator EX) for your photo scans since it will give you much more robust options including scanning multiple photos in a single pass.

Can not see the device net Master Interface in my project.

Can not see the device net Master Interface in my existing project. Need to Modify exististing code. Can not recomiple and create exe file after making changes. Error says the vi's are broken. Tried re-installing industrial communications for device net but get an error saying a newer version is already installed. Do I need to plug my computer into the device net scanner to fix this?

Assume the installation disk is an OS X disk? If it's the original one that came with the system (grey-colored disk versus black retail disk) have you tried to hold the alt key down when you boot? This would allow you to choose the Apple hardware test. If you can do this, choose the Apple hardware test, click the arrow to the right, and when prompted choose the extended test. Does that give you any errors or messages about a hardware problem?
Are you able to hold the C key down when you reboot, to boot off the installation disk?

Network can't see my Mac after upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.2

After upgrading to ML 10.8.2 (coming from Lion), the network (another mac and an iPad) can't see my Macbook-pro.
Using a network scanner (Fing on iPad), my Macbook is not there, and in the same way all the other services from Macbook-pro (such as Internet sharing, Filemaker sharing, ...) don't work.
My Macbook-pro is regularly connected to the right network and has a proper IP address (192.168.1.32 with 192.168.1.1 being the router, ...33 the other mac and so on). Also, my Macbook-pro perfectly reaches both other LAN devices and the internet.
I've tried disabling Firewall but nothing changed. I havn't got any antivirus nor security programs running.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. The purpose of this test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I actually figured it out. I think some of you programmers out there would be proud of me if you saw this completed code. This forum has really helped me out, but I still make some stupid mistakes. Like the one I realized I made on this program seconds after I made this pose. I realized that I had an unknown character at the end of my input document, which you can't see in my post because I must have not copied and pasted that part. I would delete this post, but don't know how.

This has been a problem with HP for ages. HP's support forum is filled with this complaint, and no resolution appears evident.
You can try assigning both the iMac and the HP Photosmart 5514 static IP addresses. This will ensure they will remain in the same "place" on your network. This may help.
I recommend you abandon the attempt to initiate scanning from the scanner. Initiate the scan from your computer with HP's Image Zone software.
