Can't see wave form after recording...

After I record audio, the wave form (view) goes flat line like I recorded silence. It still plays the audio, but I cant see it to edit it.
How do I see it again?

In all likelihood you have the recording delay setting, set to something other than zero......

I have been using Logic for 3 months now...mostly just importing old wave files from past protools sessions. Everything was working fine until I created a new session to record audio. I record the audio at a nice level...I hit playback...I can hear it fine but I can't see the wave forms. I can see it in the sample editor. I've searched around and found the same problem in the past on some forums......they say to trash preferences... I went to my mac drive...library...preferences and nothing I have no files labeled com.apple.logic.pro now I'm lost....the funny thing is... when I zoom in horizontal ...the wave form shows but it makes the track way too large. Any help would be great. Thanks

What is the "Recording Delay" parameter set to?
It should be zero, default is zero. If it's set to a positive or negative Logic will often not show the wavforms. If that's it, it's one of the long standing bugs in Logic.

I have just downloaded itunes 10.6 and in the process my "podcast" option under library has disappeared! The files are still on my laptop. I can also see some of my recorded music in my itunes library but can play them - there is an exclamation mark next

Visibility of the Podcasts section is controlled from within the Edit > Preferences dialog.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
Missing tracks
Typically this can happen because a file or folder is accidentally shunted to the wrong location. iTunes can also get confused if it expects to be talking to an external drive which isn't there. If will often reset the default media folder location and may have trouble finding files in the old folders.
Select one of your tracks that is missing in action. Press CTRL-I to Get Info. Cancel when asked to try to locate the file, then look at the location given on the summary tab. This where iTunes thinks the file ought to be? Now find out where it actually is. Post back the two locations for comparison. I should be able to give you some steps to reconnect everything once I can determine which of the things that might have gone wrong is most likely in your case.
When you get it all working make a backup!

But I haven't been able to get it to work. Can you clarify if support was indeed added and if it works for you?

Can not see web forms

I have installed two versions of forms developer on my pc:
1. Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.2.0 (Production)
2. Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production)

But I get the following error in the Internet Explorer: Error: Can`t find server or DNS (Internet Explorer)
Does anybody have an idea?

Network can't see my Mac after upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.2

After upgrading to ML 10.8.2 (coming from Lion), the network (another mac and an iPad) can't see my Macbook-pro.
Using a network scanner (Fing on iPad), my Macbook is not there, and in the same way all the other services from Macbook-pro (such as Internet sharing, Filemaker sharing, ...) don't work.
My Macbook-pro is regularly connected to the right network and has a proper IP address (192.168.1.32 with 192.168.1.1 being the router, ...33 the other mac and so on). Also, my Macbook-pro perfectly reaches both other LAN devices and the internet.
I've tried disabling Firewall but nothing changed. I havn't got any antivirus nor security programs running.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. The purpose of this test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Can't Edit a form after converting it to reader extended

I am struggling with an issue when creating a form. I create the form in Word, convert and edit in Acrobat Pro, then save a version as "reader extended" so that our users can fill it out. However, there were some errors in the form after I saved it as "reader extended". I tried to save a copy but it says I can't "edit form"...What do I do?

so i have a pdf file I'm working on as "test.pdf" I save a version as "test_fill_in.pdf" with reader extended and then distributed.
I was advised some of the form functions and fields were not correct so I needed to edit the test_fill_in.pdf.
To edit I did the following:
Opened the "test_fill_in.pdf" in acrobat
Save a copy as "test_fill_in_1.pdf"
Received "You cannot edit this file as a form" message

I've had to recreate this form from scratch sooo many times!!

I am having trouble with the handle bars for music fade in and fade out. It doesn't work. I also cannot see wave forms for music. Cannot select - it is grey. On a deadline and really having problems.

I am trying to finish a video and I want to fade the music in and out. I have read every tutorial I can get and the help info in iMovie. Nothing helsp. I cannot get it to fade by just sliding the handle bars. Other times, the music mutes completely when I try to add a fade. I try to view wave forms for music and it does not allow me to select . it remains grey. I am getting frustrated. I had no problem with 11 version. I now have 10.0.2 version. Can anyone help? my computer is latest Mac Book Pro 2013

A tip though - if you have a transition at the start or end of a clip it often obscures the fade handle. Trick is to temporarly move the transition (or delete it), move the fade handle then replace the transition.

Can't see backup library after accidentally deleting library

In trying to free up some hard drive space - it was almost empty - I accidentally deleted my entire iPhoto Library, emptying it from the trash. Thankfully I do back up to an external hard drive, and have moved the backed up library back to my Pictures folder. However, I cannot see the library in iPhoto, even when i Option-start the app and "Choose" that library. I only get 95 photos that i have imported since the accidental deletion and moved to that back up folder after re-copying it.
Any ideas why I can't see the Library in iPhoto even after choosing it? I'm not going to have to go through and import every photo am I? (I hope not as they are stored by year/month/day in hundreds of folders).
I would also like to know how to get this to work as I have ordered a new iMac today, and will want to choose the same Library on it too.

HI roger,
Navigate through the iPhoto Library folder and see if all your photos are in there. I just want to make sure that the backup library does indeed have your photos in there. If it does, and iPhoto still can't see your library, maybe a data file got messed up.
In that case, you can create a new library and import from the old very easily by following the next instructions below.
Close iPhoto
Rename your messed up iPhoto Library to "iPhoto Library_old"
Drag this library to your desktop
Hold down the Option key and launch iPhoto
This is the window you will get
Create a new library or choose a library to open
Choose to create a new library
Once this new empty library is open it is time to import the images from your old library
Go to File>add to library
Navigate to the old library on your desktop and highlight it in the window, then click the "import" button.
iPhoto will start importing the images from your old library
This is what to expect:
Your images will be imported in nice dated rolls. (make sure your view is set to sort by rolls to see it) There are a couple of caveats to this. You will get rolls named "Originals" These rolls will contain your video clips and your original images that you had edited. If you had RAW files they would be in those rolls too (I don't do RAW, so I don't know for sure) Delete what you don't want from those rolls. You will also get the jpeg pointer files to your video clips imported. They will just be jpegs and will not point to the video clips anymore as iPhoto made new ones when the clips were imported again. You can delete those. they should be in a roll right next to the newly imported video clips so they are not hard to find. The thumbnail files don't get imported as iPhoto makes new ones when the images are imported.
Once all you images have been imported, check through the library and make sure everything looks ok.
You can now start making your Albums, and do your keywords or any other organizational steps.
You can also delete the old library on the desktop.
It is also a good time to backup this new library to CD/DVD by burning the iPhoto LIbrary folder in the Finder, or copying the iPhoto Library folder to an external drive formatted for Macs, or copying the iPhoto LIbrary folder to an iPod.

Can I edit a form after it has been submitted?

For example:
I have a Purchase Request form that is filled out by the person requesting the purchase and after submission, our financial advisor has to fill in additional data in the same form.

The form is created in Acrobat X Pro. I uploaded it to FormsCentral and distributed it that way.
When you click "submit" it goes back to FormsCentral.
What I'm hoping to accomplish is that someone can fill out the form with the appropriate information, submit it, and then after approval a second individual can go in and add additional information to the form.

Can I save each form after I fill them out? I have the same form to fill out for 250 customers and need to save each ones information. Will it do that?

Can't see Airport Extreme after Snow Leopard Update

I'm running 10.6.2 with every update, and while I have no trouble connecting to my wifi network on the Airport Extreme (about 2 years old), I can't see it in the Airport Utility program (5.4.2) in order to administrate the hardware. I can see the Express that is also joined to the network set up on the Extreme and administrate that device fine.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the discussions!
I think you meant to say that you can't "see" an AirPort Express. (The AirPort Extreme has no audio jacks to connect to a stereo system).
Try temporarily connecting an ethernet cable from your computer to the AirPort Express (AX) and open AirPort Utility to see if that helps locate the AX so you can check the configuration settings on the device. Once you have it adjusted and updated, you can disconnect the ethernet cable.
If the ethernet hookup is not successful after a few tries, you will need to reset the AX back to factory defaults and then reconfigure it again. To do this:
Power down the AirPort Express for a few moments
Hold in the reset button and keep holding it in as you plug the AX back in to power
Release the reset button after 8-10 seconds
If you want to use wireless to reconfigure the AX, AirPort Utility should "see" it when you open the application. If no luck that way, then try the ethernet cable method.

Airport Utility can't "see" base stations after Leopard 10.5.4

After upgrading to Leopard 10.5.4, Airport Utility can't "see" Airport Extreme UFO version and Airport Expresses. But the Expresses are glowing green, so I assume they're working. But if they can't be "seen" when scanned by Airport Utility, they can't be added as speaker options to iTunes.
Have unplugged and re-plugged in power to Airport Extreme and Expresses.
Oddly enough, at one point the sound through my eXpresses would kick in for five seconds and then disconnect for a minute, then play for five, then disconnect for a minute.
This same thing happened when I switched to Leopard.
Any solutions?

Well what do you know...after a week, it just magically decides to work, without even using Airport Utility.
Boy are these Airports touchy....and unreliable.

I can't see my photos after successfully converting catalog.

After successfully converting my catalog from Elements Organizer 10 to 12, on my PC, I can't see any of the photos I converted. Any ideas on how to get them to show up?

Which operating system are you running on?
When you say you can't see any photos, I'm assuming that you are talking about the thumbnail grid. What do you see there, a question mark, an egg timer, or a message?
After the conversion of the catalog, when you next load the organizer it has to rebuild the thumbnails which can take sometime.
