Can't see website unless private browsing

Hi,
I just transferred a domain name from one host to another and worked on a WordPress website under a temporary URL which had a redirect from the old host until the transfer was complete. After the DNS changes were made, I was not able to see the WordPress wp-admin page in Firefox, Safari OR Chrome. I'm running 10.10.2 on a MacBook Pro. However, I could see wp-admin from my iPhone. I cleared all the browser caches, flushed the Mac's caches and emptied hosts, all to no avail. Every browser defaulted to the temporary domain name when I entered the transferred domain. Finally, someone at the new host suggested an incognito window in Chrome. Voila!! Works in Firefox, too, and I'm sure in Safari. Now, I want to know why. Anybody know the answer? Where is that temporary domain name hiding that all the browsers can see it, but I can't get rid of it unless I'm in private browsing mode?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Test.

There is no way to see where he has been.
Go into Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari and turn it off. Then add the MacGruff browser from the app store. After that go back to Restrictions and turn off the ability to add apps.

Why can I no longer log in to a site I have logged into 340 times before? Now I can only log in using Private Browse Window.

On my Window 7 Pro 32-bit system a website that I have logged in to over 340 times (according to my settings info) no longer allows me to log in unless I open a Private Browsing Session Window. When I use a Private Browsing Session I can log in right away & I have no problems.
I can log in to that site using my XP system with the same version of Firefox 27.1 without doing anything special. Does anyone have any ideas what I might check or do to resolve this? I realize it's not the end of the world since I figured out that this site works with a Private Browsing Session, but it IS an extra hassle. The system that's having this problem is my wife's computer, so that makes it extra important for this to be resolved.

Thank you both for your quick responses. I am now able to log in correctly. I did Ctl+Shift+r to reload the page from the server & deleted all of the cookies for that page. Now I am able to log in as before. I no longer have to open a Private Browsing Session Window.
My first thought yesterday when I was trying to fix this problem on my own, was to delete the cookies. Then I thought that if the cookies WERE corrupt I would not be able to log in even with a Private Browsing Session. I see now that I probably should have at least tried my idea.

How can I stop Firefox 's private browsing mode from restricting Netlflix from storing settings on my computer?

I have a Netflix subscription, which is supposed to let me watch movies online, on its website. However, when I selected one of their "Instant Viewing" movies, a page popped up, saying: "Silverlight Application Storage Error -- Firefox's private browsing mode is restricting Netflix from storing settings on your computer. To resolve this problem, perform the following steps: Click the Tools menu at the top of the browser and select Stop Private Browsing " if enabled.
There is no such "Tools" tab/menu at the top of my Firefox browser; there's only a drop-down box with various headings, but "Tools" is not among them.

Note there is a further change in Firefox 20, that will provide Private Browsing on a per Window basis, allowing you to use some tabs for Private Browsing, whilst most behave normally and save information. The help (kb) articles should be automatically updated to cover this.

Iweb said it published but cant see website in my browser

I created a Iweb page and I have a domain name. I am using ftp server, after imputing all my info it said I was successful in publishing my website. However when I type my domain name in my browser nothing comes up. It only says website is under construction. Indicating that my Iweb page didnt connect with my domain. What am I missing here? The only thing I did not fill in is the directory/path. Is this a vital component to making my page work? Where do I find it and what do I type in there? If it is not that than I am totally lost.

If iWeb ftp is not working, then you can select publish to a local folder and your site will be published to your desktop.
Then download Cyberduck for free - this is a dedicated ftp programme and upload to your server using this. If you use Cyberduck you can actually see where you are uploading your files to on your server.

How can I see websites in compatibility mode in Safari?

Just bought MacBook Air and having really big problem. For work i need website, which works only in compadibility mode in IE8. How can i see it in mode like this without virtual machines or Bootcamp?

I do know whether this will work or not.
Close all Safari windows.
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
"Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Develop > User Agent > Internet Explorer 8.0
If this does not help, revert back to Safari 6.0.3 -Mac.

I can't see website, others can

Hi All
Today I purchased a domain name from dotster.com; and set up forwarding to my .mac account. Within the hour everything was working just fine...I could enter the url: www.robertdelaneyarts.com I could navigate through the site and everything was cool. Just a few minutes ago I tried to get on it and got a message : "Future home of Robert Delaney Arts". I can not make the website appear; I called my sister and she typed in the url and the website popped up. We both use Safari as our web browser.
Anybody want to try it and see if it comes up for you and let me know.
Any thoughts on what is wrong and what I can do to fix it

I see I wasn't completely clear in my original post. The complete location I used was
http://www.robertdelaneyarts.com When the website came up I bookmarked it, and emailed the link to my sister. We were using the same address to access the website, obviously with different results.
I waited about 30 minutes and tried again and it did come up using my original address. I have no idea why it would come up, and then not come up and then later come up....maybe it doesn't really matter, but I do worry about galleries not being able to access the website.
After reading your post I tried: http://robertdelaneyarts.com and I was unable to access the website, I got the same message that i received before. So it would not appear to be a url issue.
Is this something to be concerned about, is it something that just happens and I need to just get over it or is this an issue i should try to solve?

Can't see images in any browser

I cannot see any image in any browser if I use a testing
server. I know the server is configured correctly. This site has
been working fine for the last two months, and now since I tried to
install net web developer express edition 5, the site has been
trashed. I was using asp.net, then went to php ( on IIS),
coldfusion, and now asp. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling
dreamweaver. I ried installin gother browsers. I've tried
everything. It's not in the preferences, I don't know where it is.
But I can see them fine, if I remove the testing server, and just
view the pages locally in the browser.
Can someone please tell me what could be causing this. I've
been working on it none stop for three days, and I'm getting very
frustrated. Last night I wanted to throw this computer across the
room. I have to get this finished. Thanks.

broken mouse- sorry for double post.
guess- the paths to the images are site root relative (start
with a leading
/slash) and the site's local address is to a subfolder (like
http://localhost/thissite/ )
if that's it-
fix one- convert all the paths to document relative.
(the pulldown at the bottom of the "Browse to File" dialog
box in dw)
also- see the relativity extension here:

fix method two-
google on "virtual host" for your type of local server. Then
you could set
up "fake" local domain name for this site- and use
http://thissite.local and the site
root relative paths would work.

Since the last update (version 12), Firefox takes a lot of time to open new tabs, usually it open them, but i can't see the tabs and browse through them

it also ignore my mouse clicks on tabs.
i can browse them only by ctrl+Tab (but i see only the first tab on the tab bar...)

hello, in order to further diagnose the issue please [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|run firefox in safemode once]] & see if the problem is occuring there too. if not it may be related to one of your addons or hardware acceleration. in this case try disabling all extensions in tools > addons > extension, restart firefox and reenable the extensions one-by-one (restarts of the browser might be necessary after each time) until you find the one that's causing it. you can disable hardware acceleration in tools > options > advanced > general.
if the two suggestions from above don't help, please also have a look at your security-software & make sure it's not blocking/sandboxing the updated version of firefox or the plugin-container...

Can't see network unless Qnap 209pro network drive is switched on

I find this a bit strange but I cant see the Windows computers on my network unless my QNap network drive is switched on. Also sometimes I have to click an alias to something on the network drive before I can see it.
The strange thing is I can take over pc using remote desktop even though they don't show up in my network

No the Mac does not not see the drives on my other P.C's until I turn the netowrk drive on and click the shortcut.
Is there not a way of manually searching for anything on the network. With windows you can go to network and search from there.

I have connected via VPN but can't see lion server .private

when I am in my local network at home I simply go to finder and click on my server and connect to it. When I VPN form the net into my servers local network I dont see it in my finder? I know I am in the next work being I did a IP Check but am I am missing something how am I to get to the server to get to my files? it is set up as a .private.

Spoke to an apple rep today. when accessing via VPN go to finder then go to the top menu click GO at the bottom of the drop down will be connect to server simply add the IP address to access.

Safari - Can't see website page address

In Safari, I've lost the view showing the full website page link of a page I'm looking at, so e.g. I can't copy a link. Any ideas to restore?

Can't see icloud contacts in browser

I have a new iphone and have copied contacts to icloud. I cannot see them logging in using IE11

Are you sure you copied them to iCloud? Try opening the contacts app on your phone and tapping Groups. Do you have any non-iCloud accounts listed there (Gmail, Yahoo, Exchange, etc.)? If so, check to see if your contacts belong to a non-iCloud account. iCloud only syncs contacts that belong to the iCloud account.

Firefox remains as the topmost screen when I open other programs, so I can't see them unless I shrink Firefox. How to fix?

Above says it all--I would like the program I click on from the tray to BE ON TOP. This problem doesn't happen with other browsers. Windows 7 professional.
