Can't seem to import my photos after upgrading to iOS 6

I have an iPhone 4S and just upgraded to iOS 6. I used to import my images to my computer using Preview on my iMac, but today when I tried doing that, no photos appeared. I also noticed that the name of my phone is now "Apple iPhone" when I connect, when it used to be called the name of my phone ("Miellen's iPhone" for example). I tried with Image Capture and iPhoto, and none of them showed any images from my phone when connected. It was like they connected to a phone with no photos.
Can't import my images! Aargh, what happened?

If you've updated your iOS device to iOS 8, the photos should still be on the device. The photos will be organized differently than they were previously, though.
In iOS 8, the Photos app organizes photos by date instead of by device or photo source. Here are some questions you might have about Photos after updating to iOS 8.
Where can I find the Camera Roll?
The Photos app in iOS 8 doesn't separate photos and videos based on how they were added to your device. Instead of a Camera Roll, your photos and videos (even ones that you didn't take with or save to your device) are organized by date in Photos.
When you open the Photos app and tap the Photos tab, you'll see your photos and videos listed by Moments, Collections, and Years. Tap Moments to see individual photos organized by date and location, tap Collections to zoom out to a more condensed view, and then tap Years to zoom out even more. Tap a collection or year to zoom back in.
And you'll now have a Recently Added album, which shows the photos and videos added to your device in the last 30 days, organized by date. To see your Recently Added album, tap Albums > Recently Added.
Where can I find the My Photo Stream album?
In iOS 8, there's no longer a separate My Photo Stream album. Instead, photos that were in the My Photo Stream album are now in the Recently Added album.
If you were using iPhoto for iOS, make sure that you migrated your photos.

To troubleshoot this issue where your camera is displaying a black screen, please follow the information outlined below.
You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping (camera swap icon). If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

Can't read PDF's in iBooks after upgrade to IOS 5

After upgrading to IOS 5 (and selecting no sync to avoid PDF's disappearing) I can't open any of my PDF's in iBooks. I can't see covers, and if I select any of them, they only change to a "selected color", but they never open. Please help.

I just opened iBooks for the first time since upgrading my iPad to iOS 5. At first, I saw all my PDFs, but the cover pages were rendered in generic text. Then... they suddenly disappeared. I had all sorts of important references, manuals, documents for a trip I'm about to take. All gone.
From what I'm reading here, it looks like I'm not getting them back easily. Even if I can use tools to extract them from a backup (now in iCloud, hmm...) I'll have to get them into another app, so I can use them. If I can't get them back from iCloud, and they're really gone from the iPad, I'm screwed.
So very un-Apple.
I'll submit a report to Apple. I hope they fix this, but I'm surprised that such a big bug got through.

Can't reset incoming call during conversation after upgrade to IOS 5

Right after migration to IOS 5 I discovered that it's impossible to drop incoming call during conversation. I mean when you pressed power button twice in IOS 4 call must be transferred to voice mail or resetted. It was fine before migration to 5th version pf OS. I tried to reset my phone to manufacture settings but result was the same.
Does anyone met the same with new IOS?

It doesn't matter once or twice the button was pressed - both calls are resetted.

Photos after upgrading to iOS 8 not uploaded to iCloud

Before updating to iOS 8 I had in iOS 7 deactivated the service Photostream. All of my 200 photos I had stored only in memory of my iPad. After updating to iOS 8 I activated Photostream. The photo is there but not uploaded. They are still in the memory of the iPad. The new post-shooting photos uploaded to iCloud without problem. Is there any possibility of my 200 photos to get iCloud? Thank you and sorry for bad English.

Same thing happened to me. I realized it was Foursquare the app that was consuming the location service constantly. I went to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and disabled Foursquare for location services.
Maybe you have Foursquare or another similar app that's consuming the location service. Perhaps you should try disabling the apps in Location Services one at the time.

Can't sync my iPad 2 and can't open my newly purchased app after upgrading to iOS 7

Ever since I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS, I have two problems.
First off, I can't sync my iPad 2. This error message keeps popping up: "The iPad '(my ipad name)' could not be synced because the sync session failed to start. My iTunes is the lates version 11.1.1.11. I even tried to deauthorize the computer and reauthorize it. I also tried to log out and log in again. I also tried to re-install the iPad driver from the Device Manager of my Win 7 (browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and click OK > next.) I tried all possible ways suggested in the communities discussions but still can't get the sync to start.
Second problem, since I can't sync from the iTunes database, I purchased the app from App Store on my iPad. After downloading the app, I touched the "OPEN" button but the app could not be launched. This happens to all app's purchased after I upgraded the iPad to iOS 7, not matter the app is free or costs money. Apps purchased BEFORE iOS 7 update can be opened without any problem.
Any suggestion?

Just think of the third problem. I can't do backup neither, so I dare not restore my iPad to its default as I didn't do the backup the moment before upgrading it to iOS 7 (which I regret very much now). I have trusted Apple for years and didn't think of such problems could happen after iOS upgrade.

Can't sign into my iTunes account after upgrading to ios 6 on ipad 2

iTunes 9.0.2.
Trouble logging in for a couple of days.
1. Always have logged in with my username only.
2. Now requires me to login with my [email protected]
3. When I log in with my [email protected] my account details (top-right hand corner of iTunes store) states [email protected]
4. All my previous purchases state in Info that my Account name is just username.
5. Now logging in with [email protected] ([email protected]) any new purchase list the Account name as [email protected]
6. My account two days ago (just username) had credit on it. Now its gone because I can no longer log in under that account.
7. All purchases under that account that have updates are not available because I cannot log in.
ITunes & iPhone error message:
This Apple ID is not available.
Also, tried logging in to send this reply and I received the message This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons. Why???
So I reset my password - to the same password and had a few teething problems, but have now managed to login.
Note: me.com has not been affected. There has been no issues with my login for my me.com account.
But wait there is more....
I just thought I would try it again, because I had just reset the password through Apple Discussions, and I can now login with just my username in iTunes. All seems to be working as per usual.
Why there has been an issue with iTunes and Apple Discussion, and not with logging in to http://www.me.com - I don't know???
Perhaps this will fix your problem as well - reset your password.

How to save your photos after upgrading to iOS 6 OTA and stuck in DFU or Recovery Mode

Ive been working on this all day. I found somebody's JAR that is able to provide SSH acess into your phone even if you are stuck in recovery or dfu mode. I am running a macbook pro with win 64 bootcamp and couldnt get itunes 32 bit installed to work with the JAR so I restarted in MacOS rather than mucking around with getting itunes 32. I then clicked the JAR and mac asked to install a java runtime. After doing this, the JAR would run and eventually put my phone into a state where I could SSH into it. After that, I downloaded Cyberduck and copied /mnt1 and /mnt2 to my mac in case I needed anything off of these. I ran PhotoRec and it began to find tons of pictures, pdfs, and whatnor. Rather than wait for it to find the stuff I really wanted, I searched through /mnt2/mobile/media/dcim/ and got all my pics. Awesome. What a pain.
That took all day to figure out. Ugh.

I updated my iPad 2 to iOS 5.1 but I have lost the Internet connection on 3G! Internet works only on wifi! I can't find the 'Cellular Data' tab under Settings -> General -> Network ! Please help! I rely on the 3G service a lot and can't do without it!

First, reset your network connection = Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Connection
Next, re-enter your carrier's APN data = Settings / Mobile Data / APN
You may need to contact your carrier to get the correct APN setting or do a google search for your carrier's APN

Can no longer see email message content after upgrading to ios 6

Since upgrading to iOS 6, my email loads (from three different email accounts), but when I click on an individual message the content of the message doesn't show, only the Subject line. If I click "reply" the content of the message appears. Anyone else having this issue?

Same issue here. Tried "Reset Network Settings", reboot, Airplane mode on/off, and turned off 3G.
also noticed when I dial someone from iPhone4 it defaults to speaker phone. I did check voice control and Shazam to make sure it wasnt the microphone malfunctioning and both those apps work fine.

Why can't I add or edits contacts after upgrading to ios 5?

I just updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5 this past weekend. Today when I went to add a phone number from my Recent Calls to an existing contact, it let me get as far as the actual contact, but wouldn't let me save the change. I then went into Contacts directly and found that I could not add or edit contacts. Does anybody have any advice?

I turned off all the iCloud functions and got this problem. Only way to get rid of it was to go into iCloud settings and DELETE the iCloud account. Somehow turning of contacts in iCloud disables the add/edit contact function which must be a bug!

Why can I no longer import EDITED photo from my iPad to my Mac using Image Capture? This is farcical and a real problem having to email them individually to myself and is totally inefficient time wise compared to previously using image capture! Why change this when it was working well and very quickly until the latest change. Now I have to move files from downloads into an appropriate folder, after emailing each individual edited image to myself, then I have to open in Photoshop and rename the file. This is ludicrous and takes forever to do!

Thank you! I suppected it would be in the settings somewhere. I' ve much to learn...get myself into trouble pushing buttons I don't really understand.
