Can't seem to use some fonts in LIbrary AND System Folders

Hi. I installed some new PostScript fonts in my Library/Fonts folder, but neither Adobe InCopy nor MS Word show them in their Font menus. How can I get these fonts to show up (in this case, many versions of Franklin Gothic)?
I also note I have MANY fonts in my System/Fonts folder. My impression is some are usable in Word and some are not. Apple Help says nothing about this folder; I imagine I put them there when I got the new machine. Should I move them all or partially to the Library? If so, what the heck is this System/Fonts folder for?

Hi, and welcome (back) to Apple Discussions.
I believe the System/Fonts folder is the folder for fonts used by the system itself. If I am correct, you could create major problems by moving those fonts anywhere.
If you like, you can download DeLocalizer which will allow you to remove foreign fonts and languages you don't need. That will clear out some of those fonts in the System/Fonts folder.
This doesn't solve your problem with the new PostScript fonts not showing up in your applications, but it does explain your other question. Since I've never really used 10.2, I can't address the problem of the fonts being absent without leave. 10.3 has Font Book for adding fonts, which I believe did not exist in 10.2.

Yes, if you repurchase it you may lose your progress. The exception would be a game that stored all your progress on a server under your ID
If you want to retain your progress you have two choices:
1. Don't apply the update.
2. Use your fathers account password to update the game.

I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. Are you the administrative contact on your Creative Cloud team subscription? The admin user doesn't receive the same set of services as a full seat, so you will have a Typekit Trial plan instead of the Portfolio plan.
You have the option of upgrading to the Portfolio level, though. If you would like to do that:
1) sign in at https://typekit.com/login with your Adobe ID and password
2) visit typekit.com/plans, and select the "upgrade" option underneath Portfolio
Your Typekit plan upgrade will be billed separately from your Creative Cloud payments. The Portfolio plan is $49.99/year.

You need to place your iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer. For recovery mode see:

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I actually created these fonts with fontagrapher in 1998 and have been using them regularly ever since and now they are not available in InDesign. I really need to use them.

On PostScript type 1 fonts you need to copy/move the fonts to the correct font folder because Font Book doesn't copy them into the folder. Select the fonts double-click the fonts and Find in the font Book app and validate.
The correct font folder depends how you are set up. I am by myself so my font folder was MyHarddrive/Library/Fonts. I was using Suitcas fusion and the fonts are located in a different folder.

These are iPad apps correct?
Do you have restrictions set on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing apps>Off or Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content?
Are you sure that the Apps are selected to sync from the Mac to the iPad?
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on Install next to the apps that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading to select it
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you do not see the sidebar in iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu.

If you are trying to see if you can track your mac but nothing comes up, be sure the mac is connected to wifi, not just using ethernet cable to a modem.

I want to restrict PDF reader to achieve Digital Rights Management (DRM).
Do I need to pay anything to Adobe if I inject java script to achieve so using some open source library?
Basically I want my PDF documents to be restricted such that I can:
Limit printing
Prevent screenshots
Restrict access by license expiry date
Restrict distribution of downloaded PDF (i.e. the document should run on specific machine only)
Restrict copy and paste within PDF document

I think it is a vain hope to imagine you could implement DRM via JavaScript. Remember it can be turned off.
Printing is either enabled or disabled according to document security.
Working with PDFs does not require permission from Adobe but
* adding functionality to Adobe Reader definitely does; a DRM development license is a major investment.
* if the file is Reader-enabled, all third party tools will disable that.
