Can't select group of words in MS Word

In MS Word for Mac I cannot highlight more than a word at a time by dragging my mouse to select group of text. Now I can only select one word by double clicking on it. Just started happening.

Can't select headers in Word for Mac.

I'm using Word on all of my Macs due to submission requirements of my graduate program, and a document I'm creating has suddenly made headers unselectable. Posts from 2011 suggest checking Make Master Objects Selectable from the Format menu, but no such command exists. This is driving me crazy. Does anyone know how to access headers? It seems like I simply double-clicked in the header area before, but that's not working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The problem is I can't select it. Perhaps I'm just losing my mind as a sleep-deprived grad student, but nothing I do puts the curser in there.

How can i select groups of data for show in graphs

Good morning, my problem is that I have made the connection to serial visa in labview, but i dont know how display groups of bits in graph, in serial signal I'm sending four sensors, the signals are in order, first is temperature with a group of 8 bits, then with 8 bits after pressure, etc, the problem is not as multiplex so to speak or determine each data to its respective graphics, I have suggested using counters or bitmask in the data but not how to do it, someone who can help me? annex vi if someone find any errors in logic, thank you!

Hello Mark,
The issue I see is that you're reading all bytes availible at your serial port.
And than you convert them to one single decimal number which you pass on to your 5 controls ( 4 charts and 1 thermomenter like control ).
What you need to do is read your serial output one value at a time, decode it and pass it to the appropriate control.
I'm sending a VI that shows what I mean.
I have assumed that once the connection is established data over the serial port will start with 8 bits of temperature, followed by 8 bits of pressure than 8 bits of humidity and 8 bits of altitude.
And the cycle repeats.
However you should look at any documentation describing any handshaking etc needed for your protocol to work.
The device you're connecting to COM1 needs to know when to start and stop transmitting.

Can't select groups for emails

After installing Snow Leopard whenever I've tried to use the Address Book to send a new message to a group I can't add an entire group without scrolling over and highlighting all the names.
If I were to, for example, click on a group to CC it would only add the first name, which is now slightly shaded gray.
Anyone else experiencing ths?

I am running 10.6.2. I was unable to duplicate the problem. I created a test group in Address Book, named it, and dragged three of my other email addresses into it. When I addressed the test message, the group name appeared in my contacts list, and all three names appeared in the "To" line when I clicked on it. I sent it, and checking all three of the other accounts, all three went out just as they should have. I also clicked on it and added it to the "CC"line. That worked too.
I gotta say though that the Help files weren't very useful trying to figure out how to set up a new Group. I just figured it out by myself.
Could it be something peculiar to the earlier versions of SL?

Why does the highlighting/underlining feature only select parts of words?

Is there a reason why in certain PDF's I can only select parts of words? Before in the same document I was able to select, underline, highlight, etc., with no problem. Has there been an update or change to the software that causes this to happen? Can it be fixed?

But i want other colummn value in '-' separated. but group by is only allowing agreegated function.

This is what worked for me. Turned off icloud on iphone and computer. Logged into my icloud account at icloud.com via my web browser and deleted all of my contacts and calendars. I was then able to select selected contacts and selected calendars in iTunes.

Hi,
I had posted a similar query few days back to place excel file in text frame. And I found out that, it is not possible to specify formatting option for any of microsoft document when using Indesign SDK.
But we can do this by running script.
If you are able to specify the formatting option through script, write code to get script object & execute this script through Indesign SDK.
I was able to specify formatting option, sheet number, range etc through this.

Can't select some words/regions in Mail on Mavericks

So in 10.9 Maverics Mail application, I can only select some words and regions for editing.
Some text simply cannot be selected via mouse cursor, or even via moving the cursor with the keypad arrows.
Text on the left side, up to about 40 characters or so, is selectable. After that, nothing on the right is.
You basically have to delete everything after if you want to edit a word in the region.
Please fix.

I'm not having the same issue with Mavericks in the Mail app.
A Safe Mode boot deletes some system caches that may help.
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.

I rely on automatic writing programs, and unfortunately does not the alternative program AllChars work in Windows 7. I do not know of any other similar programs, which write "The United States of America" when I write the code that I have chosen - "USA+". I have not downloaded any new extentions to Firefox.

TS2128 How can I select multiple SEPARATE objects/words in Pages (Mavericks version)?

When I type a document and decide to italicise a couple of separate words throughout the document how can I select them at once? Pressing Shift selects all the words between the first and the second, that does not help me. In Pages 09 it worked with either cmd or ctrl or alt (I don't remember which, but one of them worked) but I tried all of them now and nothing happens.
Can anyone help me?

You can't do it anymore. Pages 5 is a stripped application and has lost about 90 feature that Pages 09 has. Read more about it in other threads in this forum.

Are you using any MS Office third party Add-ins? Test: Remove third party Add-ins other than PDFMaker. Test to see if the MS Office apps run afterward.
Did you attempt to repair MS Office? Test: Go to Add/Remove Control Panel run Repair.
Finally, have you tried testing to see if it's PDFMaker? Test: Use the Add/Remove Control Panel to modify the Acrobat installation to remove PDFMaker. See if MS Office applications launch and behave correctly?

CS3 Can't select or fill area in live paint group

Hi, I have Illustrator CS3 on Windows Vista Home Premium. I made a live paint group and colored in the various areas. I was doing more work and noticed that some areas lost their color. I can't select them now as a live group to color.
The outlines can be selected, but not the fills. Also there are a few places where the fill spills out to adjacent area. The gap detection doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I also just downloaded the newest driver for my wacom intuos 2 and it is doing some odd things. Could that have anything to do with it?

I'm away from my Photoshop system right now, so I'm sorry for any inaccuracy, but if you select the eye dropper tool in the Tools panel, then look near the top of the Photoshop main window in the options area, do you see a "Sample" selector? Alternate settings of this selector will probably get you the behavior you want.

You've said you have a Word file and want to use some pages in the file to create a new document.
Use Word to establish a new Word file that has the desired pages for the original Word file.
You now have a "new document" of the desired pages.
With Acrobat Standard or Pro installed you can create a "new document" PDF.
If you do not have Acrobat Standard or Pro or a subscription to an online Adobe service that can create PDF from MS Word you can use the Microsoft process to create PDF that comes with MS Word.
