Can't select iCloud icon in settings

I can see the iCloud icon in settings on my iPad2 but it won't allow me to select it. Could someone please help me as I've looked at various things like upgrading and restoring but none of them have worked.

When I go to settings>mail the iCloud options are there but it won't allow me to select them. They are shaded text and therefore not accessible.  When I set up my iPad I may have passed over setting up iCloud but according to the tutorials I've read it says you can go into settings>iCloud and set up from there but when I try that it doesn't allow me to select iCloud.  When I go into iCloud.com it is just a tutorial page that comes up so I'm not really sure what to do.  It is probably something really silly and easy but it's really frustrating me.  Thanks for your response.  Any other ideas? Am I missing something?

I have the same problem. In your mail settings are the "Accounts" options also faded? My twitter option is also faded as well and I have no idea whats going on (iPhone 4). I seemed to have set up iCloud through some of my apps but I can't manage them at all in settings. My mail is also working fine but I can't log off of any of them.

  • Can you use icloud to restore settings on a 4s to a 5?

Can you use icloud to restore settings on a 4s to a 5?

Yes.  Just back up your 4S to iCloud, then restore your 5 to that backup.  Note: your iPhone 5 will need to be running the same or higher version of iOS as your 4S in order to restore to the backup.

  • After updating my Iphone 4 yesterday I didn't set up icloud straight away.  Now it says to tap on the icloud icon in settings but it won't let me?  What do I do about this?

    !

is the icloud setting greyed out? - do you have restrictions tunned on - if so do you have your mail ids set to not llow changes? - if so enable them to allow changes and the icloud icon will get ungreyed out - after you set up icloud you can set your mail ids to not allow changes again (until you want to make any changes to your icloud settings)

  • ICloud icon on Settings menu

The iCloud icon has disappeared from the Settings menu from my parent's iPad. How can I reinstall it?

You cannot reinstall the setting. Not to be redundant but your parent's iPad is running iOS 5?
I can't imagine why it would disappear from the iPad and the only way that I can think to get it back would be to restore the iOS software and then restore the iPad from a backup followed by a sync in order to restore the iPad to the way that it was.

  • Can't access iCloud, Facebook, Messages settings on iPad 3 after ios 6 update

Once I updated to ios6, I went to post a pic to Facebook from my camera roll. It told me I had to add a Facebook acct and directed me to my settings page. Half my settings are GREYED OUT AND UNAVAILABLE!. Facebook, iCloud, Twitter, Messages, FaceTime, plus other settings under Mail/Contacts etc are also unavailable. I reset my iPad, then the Internet stopped working where it had been fine before! Came up with an apple login page and would disconnect me-- fixed that by setting http proxy to auto-- still can't access the above mentioned settings! Anyone else, any suggestions?!

I had this problem too. But I remembered I was playing with the restriction settings just right before it greyed out. I disabled restrictions and it came back. I would try to disable renewable a few times to see if it comes back.

  • HT4890 I have an icloud account but no Icloud icon in settings

I have an icloud id and can check my mail on icloud.  No problems with that.  I do not have icloud in my settings window.  None of my contacts are in icloud or photos or anything else.  Just my mail.  How can I fix this please?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
iCloud is only included with OS X 10.7.2 or better. Your profile states that you are using OS X 10.6.8, you would need to update to get iCloud.

  • I can't find icloud icon

On my MacBook Pro in Syst Preferences, I don't see an iCloud icon.  Where would it be?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If your profile is correct, then you won't find iCloud in system preferences. iCloud only comes with OS X 10.7.2 or better, your profile states that you are using OS X 10.6.8, if so you need to upgrade your operating system.

  • TS3988 Can't open icloud icons ( able to sign in though )

    Hi
I am able to sign in to my icloud account with no problems , but then i am unable to open any of the icons ie. can't open calendar , contacts - i just get an error message . Using Windows Vista
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks
    Alison

I'm not sure what you're looking for on your iPad.  You set up iCloud by going to Settings>iCloud, signing in with your Apple ID to create your account, then turning on the data you want to sync with iCloud.  However, iCloud is a service, it isn't an app.  It will sync data that you add or change within the apps on your your iPad that are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.).
When you go to icloud.com from your computer browser, you should get the sign in pop-up like the image below.  After signing in, you can access the apps from icloud.com.  If this isn't working for you, you may need to troubleshoot your browser as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4050.
