Can't select photo stream and Facebook in iphoto

I don't know why, on the side of iPhoto where we can select the library, we got a section call WEB, where we got our Photo Stream and Facebook account.
I don't know why but I can't select those two facebook account and Photo Stream to see and manage the photos that are in those section. I click on it and nothing happen.
But I can share with the share button at the bottom to those sections
Can someone can tell me why I can't select those sections?
I got iPhoto 9.4 and Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
     User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
     User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • TS3988 Can't access photo stream and icloud, despite having the right id/password

I can access icloud online, and on my macbook pro. But for some reason, I can't access my storage preferences (it says: Details not available), nor can I access photo stream. I get an error message that says:
Photos for the iCloud account “[email protected]” cannot be accessed. Review your account information in System Preferences.
    When I click on 'review'
I can also see my storage settings (after inputting my password), and everything is correct and up-to-date. Yet it won't load the storage details.
I also don't want to sign out, because I get messages telling me that everything on my mac will be deleted, and I don't want to lose anything.
    What now?
    Thanks for your help,
    Lutz

You aren't supposed to be able to access photos at iCloud.com.
To enable photo stream in iPhoto enable system preferences > photos and follow on screen instructions.

  • Photo Stream and MobileMe in iPhoto: I don't get it!

    Hi
Photo Stream is on for iPhoto on my iMac, iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch.
I'm somewhat confused about how to handle this feature - aside from the basic understanding that it syncs photos I take, say, on my iPhone, to all other devices without the need to manually sync.
    Could someone please confirm / suggest answers to the following;
    1) photos I take on my iPhone are shown in my camera roll and under a separate photo stream roll.  I understand that photo stream on iOS devices holds the last 1000 images taken (unless you delete some following iOS 5.1).  Correct?
    2) my iPhoto library on my iMac stores 100% of the photo stream photos thereby negating the need to manually sync my iPhone (which I use to take photos) with iMac. Correct again?
    3) Under 'Events' on iPhoto (iMac) it seems to create a new 'event' every month (and christens it, say, as 'March 2012 photo stream' for example) which holds that months images taken.
    a) the folders appear in the top left hand corner of the 'Events' page which I don't like as all other events are shown in chronological order (i.e. the latest 'event' being in the bottom right corner of the page). Can I do anything about this, as in set it so that the photo stream folders create themselves at the bottom of the screen after the previous last event?
    b) These monthly 'events' are just that; events that have happened within that last month which could comprise of several different events.  I categorise by actual event rather than everything that has happened within a particular time frame.  This therefore immediately conflicts with photo stream.  I presume I am perhaps meant to select certain 'events' within the month's photo stream and then create a new 'event' from that but I don't know how to do this?  Could anyone advise how / what they do?
    4) I had a MobileMe account which expired last year.  Instead of resurrecting the email address for my iCloud account I chose a slightly different one.  This seems to pose a problem as under 'Albums' I have several MobileMe albums which generate a pop-up box asking me to log in.  As my MobileMe account is expired, the password prompt is not accepted.  I therefore can't share my photos as I previously did.  Is there a work-around?
    Thanks!

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. a: View Menu -> Sort Events
    3. b Flag the photos you want to move and go Events -> Create Event from Flagged Photos

  • HT4906 How can I get Photo Stream to work in iPhoto on my iMac?

Photo Stream folder acts as if it has never been used. Yellow box shows directions on how to get started. Even though I have had it working successfully in the past, I tried each of the methods. No luck.
I have gone through the process of verifying that photo stream is turned on properly on all devices (iPhone 5, iPad (original), and iMac (2011). If I download from my camera, all pictures show up on iPhone and iPad, but not in Photo Stream folder on iMac iPhoto. The date after the title "Photo Stream" shows December 5, 2011. (That's probably when I started using this iMac).

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Then check the iPhoto/Photo Stream preference pane to make sure the necessary checkboxes are checked.

  • How do I share from the photo stream to Facebook in iPhoto?

So, I have a photo in my photostream and on my iphone - in iPhoto '11 9.5 (902.7) running on Mavericks 10.9 (13A598) I select that photo and then try to share it to my Facebook account, which IS set up correctly in iPhoto.  All I get is the annoying "clunk" sound.  In iphoto, it shows the correct date the photo was taken, along with the correct location the photo was taken.  But iPhoto won't share to Facebook from the iCloud photostream.
I would share the photo from my iPhone (iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3), but apparently the Photo app on iOS is too simplistic to pull the location data from the photo and fill out the location data, and will only let me enter things near my current location, which is idiotic when the phone and iOS itself created a photo with embedded location data.
Am I doing somthing wrong here?  Is it even possible to share from the Photostream to Facebook in the latest version of iPhoto?  Why doesn't the Photo app on the iPhone use the location data that it (the iPhone camera app) put there in the first place?  Or am I simply expecting too much from Apple products and software?

Thanks, that was the problem.  Hope they rethink that, seems kind of redundant when they want us to stay in the cloud - they just put it in an event named "Month Year Photostream".

  • HT5903 can't access photo stream on iCloud or iPhoto

when i log into iCloud i don't seem to have a "photo" button to access photos - only calendar, mail etc - i can't therefore access photostream and the photos from wife's ipad - also i thought i should be able to just access the shared photos ex my photostream in iphoto

  • I want to use photo stream and I have iPhoto' 09 8.1.2 at the moment, which upgrade do I need?

I have been trying the 'Software update' thing but It isn't coming up with anything. I just want to use photo stream in icloud.

You are using iPhoto '09, and Photo Stream requires iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3, so you have to purchase iPhoto '11 from the App Store.
Before purchasing, open Finder, select Applications in the sidebar, and delete iPhoto. Then, open App Store and purchase iPhoto. After being downloaded and installed, make a backup of your iPhoto library in a different folder: iPhoto will update your library, and if this process fails, you will lose all your pictures

  • Can I disable photo stream from select devices that are connected to my iTunes account?

Hello,  I was wondering is there any way to do this because I have three iPads connected onto my account, one is in another country and one my parents own, but for my personal one, I would like to disable this feature so my pictures don't get uploaded. My parents like to see the photos being taken by family in another country and I would like those two devices connected only.

You can turn off photo stream on one device without effecting the others.  If you want to keep the photo stream photos on the device you are going to turn it off on, you will need to same them to your camera roll before doing so.  To do this open the my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud>Photos and turn off My Photo Stream.  This will delete the photo stream photos from this device, but not the others (and you already saved copies of these photos to your camera roll so they will still be on your device).
The other two iPads that are signed into your iCloud account with photo stream enabled will still be sharing the same photo stream but you will no longer see it, and your photos will no longer be added to the stream.  They can still share photos with you by adding them to a shared stream and inviting you as a subscriber (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).

  • I have just installed iPhoto 11 and all of photos on my iphone have now all disappeared and ended up in my photo stream and the library in iphoto does not display all my pictures?? Can anyone help?

I have just installed iPhoto 11 and all of photos on my iphone have now all disappeared and ended up in my photo stream and the library in iphoto does not display all my pictures?? Can anyone help?

And I cant work out why all of my pictures are not diplaying in iphoto?
Is this iPhoto on your Mac?  Are you referring to the photos that were in your iPhoto LIbrary prior to the upgrade to iPhoto 11?  If so then apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If that's not what you're referring to then you should describe what is happening in more detail. Remember we can't see your Mac or your iPhone so need detailed and accurate descriptions of what you're experiencing.
Also we need infomartion like do you have an iCloud account and are you logged into it on all of your devices, iPhoto and Mac? do you have Photo Stream enabled on both.

  • How can I restore Camera Roll to my iphone 4s? I have Photo Stream and am backed up on iCloud

How can I restore Camera Roll to my iphone 4s? I have Photo Stream and am backed up on iCloud

Syncing notes with iCloud requires it have the correct email address linked, as notes get synced with an email address.
Now, assuming that you have successfully set that up, though most people don't first time around, then if you deleted the note from the phone, it will have deleted from iCloud as well.
Meaning, unless you have that note located in a backup in iTunes or iCloud you won't be able to get it back.
You can restore the iTunes backup simply by connecting to itunes and hitting restore backup. Only thing is, any info that changed since the backup was made will be lost. (i.e. if your backup is a month old, your phone will look like it did a month ago, and only have that info on it.)
Or, you can restore from iCloud, which requires erasing all content and settings, then selecting that backup. SO, you can see the predicament.

  • I currently have an iPhone 5, 16gb. I Do Not want to Loose any photos or albums by deleting them from my phone and not backing them up correctly. My iCloud backup is only storing my "Photo Stream" and I can not locate them in iTunes after I sync/Back up.

I currently have an iPhone 5, 16gb. My storage is almost full on my phone. There are only 80 mg available. I am new to icloud and also have always had trouble navigating around iTunes. (Even after endlessly reading through support and help topics as well as calling)   My concern is about Not Losing any of my photos if I delete them from my phone. I have to delete a large portion of my camera roll as well as the Album Folders I have created. Although it would be great if there was a way to just keep my albums still. I have already backed them up to an external hard-drive, my computer and a geek stick. I'm not trying to be too paranoid about these photos, but, they are all of my 3 children. There are over 4000 pictures stored on my phone. Some photos go back as far as 2009.   Can you offer any information about backing up my Camera Roll, not just "Photo Stream", and albums I've created On my phone? I read that it's good to back photos up on both iTunes as well as icloud. I even purchased extra icloud storage to back them all up.   I do regularly back up/sync, my phone to my computers.   However, I cannot even locate where they are stored on iTunes, let alone look at them. And as far as my iCloud backup, it only stores the new pictures from "Photo Stream".   Please offer any advice you may have. I do not use up a lot of storage on my phone other than Photos and Contacts (it's a work phone).   I would definitely be able to sleep better knowing my children can one day see these pictures of themselves. I appreciate your time. Thank you,

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.
    What computer do you have?

To subscribe you need to be signed in to iCloud on:
an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6 or later, or
a Mac with OS X 10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later

  • I have so many pictures on my photo stream and camera roll. I synced them to my computer, the ones on my photo stream. can I delete the pictures in my camera roll? and still have the pictures on my computer? or do i have to save them from icloud folder to

Hi, i am an idiot when it comes to this. I have so many pictures on my photo stream and camera roll. i cant even take anymore pictures or even update to ios7. I synced my pictures to my PC, i think. can i know delete my camera roll or will my pictures disappear from my computer? im so confused!!

If you delete photo stream photos from your phone they will be deleted from the my photo stream album on your PC.  Before doing that, be sure to copy or move them to a different folder on your computer.
Deleting camera roll photos won't delete anything from your computer.  If you import them to your computer using your usb cable as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, you will get an option to delete them from your phone after they are imported.

  • HT1338 I have added photos from iPhoto into Photo Stream and enabled my iCloud but I can't see any uploaded photos. Does this sound right?

I have added photos from iPhoto into Photo Stream and enabled my iCloud but I can't see any uploaded photos. Does this sound right?

Enable PhotoStream in iCloud first, then add the photos to PhotoStream in iCloud. Of course, you will need PhotoStream also enabled on your other devices also in order to view them.
