Can't select podcasts to sync with iPod Nano

I am running iTunes 12.1.0.71 (64-bit) on a Windows 8 computer. When I have my iPod Nano connected to the computer and try to manually check the podcasts I want to sync, the checkboxes don't work as they should. When I click on the check box of a podcast, it sometimes selects the podcast above it, sometimes it selects nothing -- what it never does is select the podcast next to the check box (ie the one I want to sync). Any ideas??

Kiwi if you're still following this, I have a workaround.  Instead of going to the iPod sync screen, instead just start on your normal iTunes Podcasts screen.  You can manually drag individual episodes to the left side of the screen, and your iPod should show up right above your playlists.  Very cumbersome if you have non-sequential episodes you want to add, but it works.  You can also ctrl-click to select or deselect all podcasts in the normal syncing screen.
Back in the good old days, these sorts of workarounds were much easier to discover since there were always a dozen different methods to do the same task.  Unfortunately I've found that is becoming harder and harder with iTunes.

  • Can't select podcasts to sync to iPod nano in iTunes 12.1

I cannot always select the podcasts to sync by checking the boxes next to the podcasts,  They won't check, or sometimes the item above the one I'm pointing at checks.  This problem started with iTunes 12.01 and is still there in 12.1.  The only fix I've found is to go to the podcast in my library and manually "Add to" my IPod nano, although everything in the list is checked like it should already be sync-ing.  Very cumbersome!  (iTunes 12.1, iPod Nano, 16 GB, Windows 7)

I sync almost everything automatically, but have been having this problem with the TED Talks video podcasts, which I do sync manually. (iTunes 12.0.1; Windows 7; iPod Touch)

  • TS1424 Just purchased Beatles' Tomorrow Never Knows.  But some (four) of the cuts did not download and can't be played or synced with ipod.  Any help?

Just purchased Beatles' Tomorrow Never Knows.  But a few of the cuts did not download properly and can't be played or synced with ipod.  Any help?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • How can I select podcasts to sync

It looks like new iTunes software doesn't let me select (checkboxes) which podcasts I want to sync only let me sync new or all but not selected from all.
Did I miss some options or what?
    Thanks for any help.

There is a bug on the new version of itunes (itunes 12), which prevents you from selecting individual podcasts for syncing correctly to older ipods.  When you check one box another selects and then you can't uncheck it.
Syncing a whole series works but not individual episodes.  This bug did not exist on itunes 11.
There doesn't appear to be anything being done about it.

  • Can't get itunes to sync with ipod touch or even recognize it is connected

We cannot get a ipod touch or iphone 3g to sync with itunes. We have a ipod nano that synced fine. They are charging, but itunes does not recognize them at all.
    Looking for places to start.
    Thanks

Ok, ran updates, found 3 new updates and after this was done all was well again. Still not sure why it only affected the touch and iphone, but guess i don't need to LOL.

  • Ipod Mini generation 2 sync with ipod nano

I have an older version of i podmini generation 2 that i am uable to sync with the songs from my new ipod nano. The battery from my old mini is dead and instead of sending it in ... i receievd the new nano for X-mas.But now i can not add the song list from my old ipod to the new old .I have purchased a new Labtop since i got the first mini and never added the playlist to my new computer untill i received this new ipod. Does that have anything to do with the issue? sO MY QUESTION IS ... THERE ANY WAY TO ADD THE SONG LIST FROM MY OLD IPOD TO MY MY NEW IPOD?

In order to sync the songs that are on your old iPod Mini to your new Nano, they need to be imported and stored in your iTunes library first.

  • Selecting media to sync to iPod Nano causes iTunes to become sluggish and freeze.

For the past few months I've noticed that when I update the content on my 6th Gen iPod Nano iTunes will freeze after I switch from music to audiobooks, or anything for that matter.  The same issue happens when I try to select specific artists, or an audiobook.

  • Has the Nike+ sync with iPod Nano 5th gen been fixed?

Some months ago I had problems syncronising my pedometer walks from my iPod Nano 5th generation to the Nike+ website via iTunes. I then had read that many people were having the same problems. It would seem like if it had syncronised, but then you would see '0' on your fuel. It had been said that the problem would be fixed by late Autumn/Fall. Has this been fixed?
Thanks in advance for your kind reply.

    From http://support-en-us.nikeplus.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36812/p/3169,3171
"At this time, pedometer workouts cannot be uploaded to nikeplus.com through iTunes. Depending on your specific configuration (iPod nano generation, iTunes version, etc.), you may receive either an error message or no response if you attempt to upload pedometer data.
The Nike+ team may create an upload option for iPod nano pedometer users in the future. We appreciate your patience as we work to implement this option, and we encourage you to keep tracking your steps in the meantime."

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try following this guide which explains how to move your iTunes Library to your new computer. This works best if your library is smaller than the iPod capacity. If not click the use alternative CD/DVD method explained on the first paragraph of the guide.

  • How can I sync my IPOD Nano 4 to iTunes on my PC? I've already tried the sync button on iTunes and it says it is synced. I've also tried the 5 steps recommended by Apple to fix sync problems with no luck.

How can I sync my ipod nano 4 to iTunes on my PC? I've tried the sync botton on iTunes and the 5 steps recommended by Apple to correct sync problems with no luck.

How is your iPod configured to sync content from your iTunes library? Any error messages during the sync process?
You may want to reset warnings on the device by right->clicking on it under Devices and choosing Reset Warnings.  Then resync the iPod to see if any alerts appear.
Is this the same computer you normally sync the Nano with?

  • Can I sync my ipod nano with my second computer/ netbook while travelling?

Looking for some advice on how to connect my IPod nano with my second computer while travelling. That's what happened: I have my iTunes library on my computer at home and can sync my IPod nano (6 th generation, replaced onyl recently) with that library. While I was travelling and wanted to use my IPod I received an error message asking me to connect the IPod with iTunes in order to recover/restore (sorry, the message apeared in German, so I do not know the exact wording in English) . As I only had my second computer - a small netbook - with me, I downloaded iTunes and connected the iPod - only to receive the message that this Ipod would sync with another computer (sure!) and would I want to sync it with this iTunes library instead now? (Of course not, I did not dare because that library was empty!). So there I was with my computer with iTunes library at home and an iPod stuck in recovery mode and not doing a thing during my vacation. Any suggestions? If I have to take my great big workstation with me to get the iPod running again, I might just as well leave the iPod immobile at home. (;-)

On your home computer connect your Nano, click on the name in iTunes, move right to the Summary tab then tick the box that says Manually Manage Music. You will now have to er, manually drag your music to your iPod, and manually eject it when done, but you will be able to add music from two different computers.

  • I rec'd an iPod Nano and can't get it to sync with playlist. I also have Windows 8. I need help!

I have rec'd an iPod Nano and can't get it to sync with my existing playlist. I am using a Windows 8 Dell laptop. Any suggestions?

One iCloud account has one user name (a .mac or .me email name) and password.  If you have set up multiple accounts in the past then you must choose one and stay with it.  If you don't know the user name, then you have a problem.  If you haven't really begun using iCloud (but you mention trying to get mail, so I'm assuming you have used iCloud before), then use a .mac or .me account you know you have or just sign up for a new account - and be sure to write down the name and password for future use.
If you want to use the account to sync your contacts, email, calendars, etc, then each of your ios devices need to use the same account, otherwise they will be independent of one another.
