Can't SEND email - Outlook 2010 - Just moved from ...

I use an email address at my own domain, it's my business email. The domain is managed by Eclipse Networking a firm in Exeter.
I moved to BT Infinity yesterday from Talk Talk. Now I can only receive email, not send. I use Outlook 2010. I have changed the SMTP settings to those of BT - mail.btinternet.com
And ticked for authentication
And chose SSL (like it says on the BT help webpage)
And specified port 465 (like it says on the BT help webpage)
And put in my MY BT user id and password
But it doesn't work
I spent an hour today talking to a BT teccie who used remote access to my computer to try himself. Nothing doing. He finally said BT SMTP only supports their own BT email addresses.
Can you help, what should I do next - it would be much appreciated - I am pretty desperate and stressed - didn't sleep well last night as all this was on my mind as I have a business to run.

I only have Outlook 2007 but it should be the same for 2010.
Go to File > Account settings > select the account > change > More settings > outgoing server.
click 'log on using' and then enter your full btinternet email address and password

GMail isn't offline because I've been sending and recieving email messages all night. It's possible that your settings aren't correct or that Mail is simply screwing up (which is why I don't use it - much to prone to screwing up).
Can you neither send nor recieve messages? Or one but not the other?

When I send a message to my business partner, everything appears to go thru normally, but she never receives it. email functions normally thru webmail on host gator, or from my iphone. i discovered this because all of my business partner's email gets forwarded to me. So I usually get copied on my own messages. Suddenly it stopped. I have looked thru mail settings (rules, junk) on my imac and hers. I have looked thru blacklists on host gator. I am stumped. Thunderbird can't send email to addresses in Address Book because of formatting error

My Thunderbird can't send email to an address picked from the Address Book. It gives the following error:
"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.1.1 <"name@telconame"@telco.com> Unknown recipient. Please check the message recipient "name@telconame"@telco.com and try again."
You can see that Thunderbird has garbled the name/address pair: "name@telconame"@telco.com" so that it's unworkable.
If I type the email address by hand, it sends the email OK. But it can't retrieve an address from the Address Book without garbling the name/address pair. Win 7, TBird Version 32.0; it's the same in SafeMode.
Any ideas?

Make two Address Book entries for him; one for each of his e-mail addresses. Make a new Address Book group and put both of his entries in it. When you send him an e-mail just type in the name of the group in the To: field.

Usually 'authentication required' means that you need to submit a username (or e-mail address) and password to the e-mail server, when sending a message. This logic is not different between Outlook and Thunderbird, and even with the latest and previous version of Thunderbird.
Of course you can try the previous version again to see if it solves the problem, although you'll be less secure because you would be missing the latest fixes.

Thank you for heading me in the right direction. I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information). I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)?? In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port: 465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer." Authentication: Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in. After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message: "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.). The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587. Verify your account settings and try again." That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails. I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me. Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input! Much appreciated!

Can't send email from Outlook with parentheses in address

I can't send email from Outlook 2007 through my WRT400N when Outlook displays the address with parentheses as in this example: Firstname Lastname ([email protected])
I can send if the address is in this form: Firstname Lastname <[email protected]>
I have tested with the ISP and nothing gets through the router when the problem occurs. When I bypass the router, both forms of address will send correctly. This problem is perfectly reproducible. My router is brand new, but the problem did not show up for about a week after installation. OS is Win7. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, if you have created an ePrintCenter account and added your printer to that account you can check its ePrint job history. At least that will give you more visibility to the status of any jobs you send to your printer via the ePrint service. Receiving the "no reply" confirmation message only indicates that the email you sent was received by the ePrint service and is being prepared for printing.

Can we send email to a member as when he is added to the Oppty Team?

Can we send email to a member as when he is added to the Oppty Team without any condition by picking the email id from the User object?
I mean just send an email to the new user when it is created in the oppty team
I think about using workflow,record type 'Opportunity Team', trigger event 'When new record save'
but the send to email only have 2 options, one is Specific user,the other is specific email address, no send to email id which come from the user object.
do you have any suggestion?

I try to use JoinFieldValue('<User>',[<UserId>],'<EMailAddr>') in the Specific Email Address, no matter the new created user or the user which I log in, both email Account don't receive any email
