Can't send mail after latest firmware update

My outgoing mail won't go out after the latest firmware update. I have 4 different accounts and none are working. Tried in various locations. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Was this for 10.5.8???
Others have reported it for 10.6.8 & up...

I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.

  • Internet stopped working on MBA after latest firmware update. Help please!!!

Internet stopped working after installing the latest firmware update. WiFi still connects to router, our other mac desktop still connects to internet as usual (same network). I can't even re-install the MBA OS since it needs an internet connection!!!
    Any ideas?

    FIXED.
I swapped our wireless router for a newer one, internet seems to work fine again (we were sent a new one by our internet provider which we never set up until now).

  • Can't send mail after AirPort update

After I installed the latest AirPort update, I can no longer send emails through Mac Mail but I can still receive them. I can send emails if I plug my MacBook directly into the cable service router through the ethernet port. According to my ISP (Cox), I have Mail configured to work properly. Is there a setting on the AirPort that I need to change?

    The error message says:
"The sender address [my email address] was rejected by the server smtp.east.cox.net.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be delivered."
There is only one server I can use. There is a button for the Connection Doctor, and that shows all green lights.

  • Can't send mail after updating to 10.5.5

I don't know if it could be coincidence, but I had been receiving and sending email all day long until I installed the latest update (10.5.5). Since the installation completed, I have not been able to send mails (receiving is okay). The program keeps trying, but just keep son trying with nothing happening. I checked the SMTP's for my accounts — nothing has changed there. Don't know what's up.

Consider yourselves lucky. I can't send or receive email or connect to the internet AT ALL since installing whatever updates came down this morning (9/24/08). I can connect to my wireless and I can connect to AT&T using my USB wireless 3G thingy, but I can't access email or the web. Problem started immediately after this mornings Software Update rebooted my machine. I'm downloading the dmg on my work PC now and am hoping reinstalling will fix the issue(s).

  • Can't send mails after 10.4.6 update

Well, the topic pretty much says it all. After I upgraded to 10.4.6 I can no longer send mails. This happens with three completely unrelated SMTP servers, so I'm pretty sure it's a Mail problem. Receiving mails works without any problems and excepte the return of the ugly bubbles everything else is working fine as well.
I already re-entered my login values, didn't change a thing.

I didn't even update. One day Mail just stopped sending mail. Can't remember doing anything specific. Looks like a common problem these days from having read several discussion boards. I'm on the bandwagon. Reinstalled, created new accounts, triple checked, checked with ISP, disabled password authentication...
I even tried downloading another mail program, Revolver, but that can't send either, so I'm stumped, both recieved mail just dandy. In Revolver it gives a better hint to the problem "SMTP Error 103 (Name Resolution Error)", Doesn't help much though. As I understand, 103 is just a general error anyway.

  • After latest firmware update, AppleTV2 no longer sends signal

So I updated my AppleTV2 with the latest firmware, and now it no longer sends a signal out.
Has Apple stated when they're going to fix this?

MicroUSB cable doesn't fit in AppleTV2. Try again.
Edit: Apparently the MicroUSB cable I was trying to use wasn't 'micro' enough.
I'm now trying again with a MicroUSB cable used to recharge my Xbox 360 wireless headset. Heh... the irony is amusing.

  • TC issues after latest firmware update

Here is the skinny, my TC went through the normal firmware update a bit ago. Wednesday my Internet stopped working, when I use the Airport Utility app it showed the TC online, at first, then it gave me the error that the TC did not have a valid IP. Thought might have been a problem on my ISP's end so I grabbed another router and set it up Internet no problem. Has to be the new firmware right so I pushed the firmware back 3 versions, and still the same thing no valid IP but connected to the Internet but no HDD (Yes it said not a valid IP but connected to the Internet on one wireless PC). Everything else in the house would not connect to the TC they could see it but when you went to connect never asked for a password and I got the spindle of death type deal. I saved my settings and did a hard reset with the button on the back of the TC, started over and rebuilt the connection, same thing happened not a valid IP. I have read that Apple released 3 different firmware updates supposedly the last one works, it doesn't when I load the firmware I get the same error TC does not have a valid IP. I need some help, I have cycled through power down and power up situations over and over. Anyone have any other suggestions?

    Need some more info.
What is the modem.. make and model?
Is it both modem and router or just a modem?
What is the actual model of the TC.. the number from the base.. A1xxx where the x are numbers.
The latest firmware is an issue.. that is 7.6.4 and you should go back to 7.6.1
But it does seem hard to get rid of properly.
I want you to do a factory reset not just a hard reset.
Universal Factory Reset.. any model TC or AE.
Unplug your TC/AE from power or turn off at the power point.
Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. (this is often difficult without a 2nd person or a 3rd arm).
Release it when the status light flashes rapidly. If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have missed it and try again.
    Note..
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations of the router.
No files are deleted on the hard disk in a TC.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Please redo the setup using all SMB names.. that is short, no spaces and purely alphanumeric characters.
eg TCgenx (use actual gen if you want) for base station name.
TCwifi for wireless name. (or TC24ghz and TC5ghz which is well worth naming both bands so you can test more carefully).
Please download and install a v5 utility on a computer if any of them use up to Mountain Lion.
Tell us what OS the computers are running and I can tell you how to install the old airport utility.
Test the TC in bridge to your other router is also a good alternative.

  • Can't send mail after resetting my googlemail password

Hi. I find I cannot send mail messages although I can receive them fine on my Mac Mini.  This follows having reset my googlemail password.  I can send and receive with no problem on my other Apple devices: iPhone and iPad. The Mac Mini is updated to the latest OS.  Any helpful hints would be very gratefully received!

So, I seem to have resolved the problem by resetting the password in Mail>Preferences and editing the SMPT server list from the drop down in Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT) by putting in the new password.  But thanks for looking at this, hopefully, this might help someone with the same issue.

  • Can't send emails after Mountain Lion update

After I updated from Lion to Mountain Lion, I could receive messages from my service provider's account, but I could not send messages.  Mail Connection Doctor showed the information "Could not connect to SMTP server" for both SMTP servers, and when I try to send a message, I see that each SMTP server now has "(Offline)" after its name.  I can still send from my iPad to the same servers, and also from the service provider's webmail.  I have rebooted everything (Mac, wi-fi, router) to no avail, and I have followed all advice in Support articles such as TS3276.  I have changed absolutely no settings anywhere from the Lion system, and a check of all settings shows that they match the printout I made of the Lion settings.  I do not use iCloud for mail, so that server is disabled in Email Accounts, although the system opens iCloud on port 993 for Contacts, etc.
Below is part of the output from the Doctor, which shows an error "503 wrong state for EHLO command" on ports 25 and 587.  Researching this message didn't really help me, and, as I say above, I have changed no settings between OS versions, so I assume that something must have changed with Mountain Lion.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting the same behaviour with my ISP's mail server:

  • Can't add APN after latest firmware upgrade for HTC One M8

Hello Verizon device support. After the latest 4.4.3 firmware update there is no longer an option to add an APN! I travel overseas quite a bit and use pre-paid sim cards from various countries. Now it seems that vzw has coded the apn apk's to use an auto detect/ auto load function when a sim is installed. most pre-paid sim cards don't feed back this information when detecting the networks. So manually adding the APN is the only way to connect with the data plan. Voice is no issue. I verified this on my friends phone who hasn't taken the OTA yet and the option is present. Can we get this issue fixed! this is frustrating now!!!

I have the same problem while traveling outside of country.
I had been on the phone many times with both Verizon and HTC techs without any solution the last few days, and they kept disconnecting my calls and never called back.
One of the techs was so arrogant to say that there is no problem and it's me and not a problem with the phone; and that he could add the apn without problem.  I kept asking him to verify his firmware version vs. mine, but he just ignored my request.
Unfortunatley that with 4.4.4, I can't even pay to root my device since there is nothing out there yet to deal with this latest version of firmware.... I am pretty much screwed at this moment without a functional phone with data while traveling.  I can't believe that they claimed to have an unlocked global phone, when it doesn't actually work properly since the option to add APN is removed to allow you to access mobile data from SIM of a foreing carrier.  So sad, I should have stayed with ATT instead

  • Still having trouble sending mail after Yosemite software update!!

It worked for a few days after I installed the update, but it's now having the same issue all over again with outgoing mail.  Infuriating!

    Hello champsanmarcos,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with outgoing in message in Mail for Yosemite. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
Mail (Yosemite): If you can’t send messages
If the Send button  is dimmed in the toolbar of your message, or your message can’t be sent using the outgoing mail server, try these suggestions.
Make sure the outgoing (SMTP) mail server is specified as directed by the provider of your email account. For more information, see Verify an account’s outgoing mail server.
If a dialog states that you need permission to send a message, your account uses parental controls. For more information, see Request permission to send messages.
Choose Window > Connection Doctor, then follow instructions displayed in the Details column.
If there’s a firewall problem, verify that firewall software isn’t blocking email traffic on port 25, 465, or 587. Also check whether you’re affected by another firewall, such as software installed separately from OS X or built into an Internet sharing router, or administered by your account provider. Contact the appropriate person for information.
You may be able to send messages from only a certain location, or your account provider may allow you to send messages but with stricter settings (such as requiring a name and password). Contact your provider, then change the outgoing mail server settings in Mail preferences as needed.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    BobbyD
