Can't send mail since downloading Maverick. Using comcast and can send and receive via their website
I have tried all the standard troubleshooting suggestions.

Sometimes an ISP will bloc a whole other ISP too, if it's the source of too much SPAM.

Since downloading Maverick I have a long hang time, computer crashes, can't use word and I can't access finder, why? Also, iTunes is horrible. While I'm listening to my music iTunes will just stop playing the song for at least 5 minutes and I can't force quit why does it do that? This is the first time I have ever felt like my iMac is just as bad as a PC and I wonder if Steve Jobs would have let the program be relase to the public with all the problems involved. No wonder Maverick was free. IT ***** BIG TIME!

Since you are experiencing this issue with both a wired and wireless connection only on your home network and not at other locations, this issue would related to your router. I would first recommend power cycling the router and testing the connection again. If the issue persists, try updating your routers settings per the article below.

The main suggestion is this:
I was able to get around it in a simple but possibly not obvious way. First, make a smart group with your wanted criteria. Next make a regular group whose only member is the smart group. Presto! A smart group that you can use in Mail.app, and that will also auto-complete.

since downloading maverick, finder is not responsive; a safe restart did not help; dock still works; programs can be accessed
The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to acces the built in utilities in OS X Recovery
Make sure to back up all important files first before using OS X Recovery.
OS X Recover does require a broadband high speed internet connection. -

Since downloading Maverick, my iMac switches itself back on after I have put it to sleep.
It does not do it every time but has done it several times. Any ideas on how to stop this?If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

Problems with Photoshop CS4 since downloading Mavericks
Since downloading Mavericks, Photoshop CS4 is not working correctly. Specifically, I have lost my Tools bar and many of my most useful Tools, including the main cursor. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Since downloading Maverick, whenever I am in GB 11 (v 6.0.5) GB will not open a new Software Instrument track when I push the + icon or through the scroll down menu.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
Duplicate track works fine,
New Instrument Track works fine
Guitar Track works fine
Software Instrument.... NOTHING.
Have tried everything to no avail.
I am assuming an OS issue?

My computer is functioning really slowly since downloading Mavericks. My programs lag opening if at all. Any suggestions for fixing this?

I am unable to update my album art on my iMac since I started using Match (and after upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.3). A message advises that it's not possible to removed old artwork if it's embedded. How can I 'unembed' old cover art and replace?
Normally artwork recovered with iTunes is stored as a separate artwork file and iTunes refers to that file to display artwork when you click on a track. However, if you then copy the file to another player the artwork file is left behind and the track will not display the artwork on the other player. To get around this it is possible to embed the artwork in the music file itself so it always travels with the file. Artwork can be embedded by you or files from third party sources may arrive with embedded artwork. iTunes apparently now won't replace artwork for such files. You can accomplish this by completely deleting artwork for a file or set of files in Get Info, then getting iTunes to fetch artwork which will then be set as a reference file rather than being embedded.
I use an old iTunes so unless you are using an ancient iTunes it won't help for me to give you great details. To erase artwork I simply get info on a series of files and check the box next to the artwork box without adding any artwork and close. To do it for single file I Get Info, go to the artwork display tab and click delete. Here's a Windows reference for a newer iTunes (but the "old Get Info" reference is for early iTunes 12 and no longer works with newer):I cannot delete embedded album artwork in iTunes 12 -
