Can't Send SMS To A Cell Phone

This is a strange one - I have a friend who uses Sprint, and I was able to send messages to her up until the other day. Now she shows as offline. I deleted and recreated her address card in Address Book. Ditto deleting her and adding her as a buddy in iChat.
I have other buddies who cell phones are accessible. I can send an SMS to my cell phone.
What gives?

One of my friend also have Sprint and I cannot send SMS via iChat to her. But just last week, she got a second phone (Blackberry 8330) from Sprint via work and I can SMS to that one.

It depends on how you are planning to use this feature.
You can set up a mobile using special software in order to interface to it programatically - you can then, via this software interface, use this mobile to send SMS's.

I've used all these options, and I've found the best one to be the last option. It is the easiest to use from a programming perspective. It comes with various management and reporting tools. So you need to do the very minimal in managing this whole SMS interface.

I can't send SMS on my N95 phone!!!!

Hello, I need help with my phone it's an Nokia N95. And the problem is that I can't send Textmessages (SMS) on it. I can receive SMS but I can't send them back! Maybe i've got wrong settings on my phone, because I recently changed to this phone to another phonecard. And I think it might be that.
If anyone know what the problem may be please send me instructions or explain how I fix this problem.

This is probably a Messag Centre Number issue.
First contact your network for the Message Centre Number. Once you have the number, goto Mesaging>Options>Settings>Text Message. Make sure the message centre number is the same as you were given by your network. If not change.

Yes, you can. I do it many, many times a day. If you're trying to send a message to someone who used to have an iPhone and who didn't disable iMessage before switching phones, they will need to unregister their number with iMessage:

You also need to have SMS enabled with your carrier to send messages to non-iPhones.

Not sure what's going on here. Can't send SMS. iMessage works. SMS doesn't work when I try to text non iPhone users. Anyone else having this issue?

You do NOT have an "unlocked" phone. You have a Sprint phone. It can not be completely unlocked.
If you think there is something wrong, then either talk to your carrier about the problem or bring it back to the U.S. and have it serviced.

IPhone 5, I can't send sms to iPhones

I'm on iPhone 5 IOS 8.1.
I can't send sms to another iPhone (undistributed message). IMessage is working and I can also send sms to other phones.
On settings/messages, sms are activated when imessage turns off.
I need help, how can I fix it ?

Hey there lrllt,
Since SMS works to phones other than this one, we should be able to resolve that on the phone. First check to see that your phone number is set to start new conversations, rather than your iCloud email address.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
If your iMessages didn't transmit as SMS when iMessage was unavailable for use
Go to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS and turn on Send as SMS.
Select your phone number when Sending iMessages in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From.
Make sure that you can send SMS with Settings > iMessage turned off.
If that is not the issue, then use these steps from the same article:
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact from the Contacts app. Send a new message to the contact.

I charged my phone while on wifi and I guess it synced with iCloud. Now I can send and receive iMessages and receive SMS but can't send SMS please help. I am using net10. Please help.

Galaxy Nexus (jellybean) can't send SMS

This morning, out of the blue, I can't send text messages on my Nexus. I've tried using my preferred app (GOsms Pro) and the stock messaging app with same result. I've rebooted. I've pulled the battery and sim card. Still no luck. I can make phone calls no problem. Data usage for web and apps is working fine. Even tried changing network mode from LTE/CDMA to CDMA and back and still no luck. I love this phone, but this is greatly frustrating.

I've been having the same exact problem. It started this morning and it's still a problem now at 1:25am. I can't send sms messages on ANY of my text apps (GO, Handcent, and the stock text app.) I work in midtown manhattan and live in Queens. I've rebooted, battery pull, you name it, and still no fix. I can receive text messages, make calls, etc, but the phone simply wont send any messages. They stay showing "sending."
This isn't the first time this happened to me with this phone. Last time it happened, I took it to a vzw store they had me do a factory reset on the phone and it still didn't work. If this is the network, this is unacceptable. If this is the phone, this is the second time this year this has happened to me which is also completely unacceptable. It's getting beyond the point of simply doing factory resets all the time. Something needs to be fixed and it's either the network or my phone!!!

N90/N93 Can't Send SMS

Phone: Nokia N90 and N93.
I can't send SMS from my SIM card.
1. I get the error "Check network services".
2. Called the MTN call centre three times, and the network settings are correct.
3. Changed to a new N93 and got same problem.
4. Changed the bearer to GSM instead of 3G, still same problem.
5. When I take my SIM card and put it another phone, a motorola 2G type phone, the SMS works.
What is wrong, is there something on my SIM?

I got the same error message after upgrading from 2G 6230i to 3G N93i, I called Vodafone CS and they said its one of two problems:
1. In the Text Message Options change the Preferred Connection to GSM/UMTS rather than Packet Data.
2. SIM card is too old and needs to be replaced. (that was my case, I even couldn’t believe it because I could send MMS which is a later technology but couldn’t send the primitive SMS)

5800 can't send sms

I have a 5800 XpressMusic V-21.2.025 (the last avaible in my contry)
From few days ago i can't send sms, I checked the message centre number and it's ok, i try my sim card in another phone and i did send sms, i put in another sim card in my 5800 and i did send sms, when i put my own sim card back into the 5800 i started to send sms but few ours later i couldn't.. i made a hard reset and nothing... what can i do?

Contact your airtime supplier and ask them to send settings to your phone and install, this normally works.

TS2755 I can't send txt messages to a phone number overseas.

I can't send txt msgs to a phone number in Canada. it was working fine up until a few days ago. I now get a "not delivered" error.
I'm with Optus, and have verified it's not a carrier issue.
When I put my sim in another phone send a txt to the number it is fine.
Put my sim back in my phone, and i get "not delivered"
So far to try and fix the issue - I have updated to iOs7, reset factory setting, restored from backup, deleted and entered the number again, typed the number in directly, deleted the message history.. nothing works!
I am at a loss, and can txt, mms & imessage to everyone else.
Yes the phone number is correct, and has the +1.

Blue is for registered iMessage users with an iphone. This service is free. Green is for sending SMS to people without iPhones, and requires an SMS plan with your provider. If you are trying to send an SMS to a friend, and you are out of texts on your phone, it will not send.

I can't send sms to two or more contacts. This problem appeared approximately one month ago when I was in roaming in India. At that time I thought this is probbably somehow connected with the networks in India. But now I'am back in Slovenia and I still has the same problem. Of course I can send the same sms to each person separately with no problem. I have to stress that before my visit to India I have no probelms with sending sms to two or more contacts.

have you checked the condition of your SIM card and also that your network carrier settings are correct? also check with your network carrier your area of phone network coverage and reception strength in your area.
if that all checks out fine, then try performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down buttons until the phone vibrates), after checking that you are fully up-to-date with all the latest Nokia system app updates in the Store, and have installed the Portico update if it is available to you.
