Can't send talktalk emails from apple mail.

My talk talk inbox on the apple mail programme is stubbornly empty and I can't send emails from it. My aol account works fine. It's a POP setting account I think and the incoming port number is correct at 110. Don't know how to check the outgoing port which I gather should be 587. How can I repopulate my inbox and send emails from the laptop again? I can from my phone and iPad.

No, there have been no problems here. Run Connection Doctor, and tell us what it reports, particularly about the SMTP?

Rebuilt mailbox, rechecked settings, Followed directions in Apple support and went through all preferences, but still can't send aol mail from Apple mailbox. I get the message," Can not send mail using the server smtp.aol.com:psyxprt". I can send email if I go through Safari and then to aol. Can receive mail. We have Verizon cable, if that is important. Instead of accessing your AOL mail via Safari, setup your AOL account using Mac Mail.

v10.4.11 is a very oudated OS X so it's not going to work on Safari.
Firefox no longer supports OS X v10.4.11 which is why it's crashing.

Try looking in your User folder.
Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Mail/V2
If you prefer to make your User library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I have to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Your issue has nothing to do with the subject of theis thread. The first thing you should do is to start your own thread. Use a properly descriptive subject line. Move emails from apple mail to windows outlook

Hello Everyone,
I have recently bought a windows laptop as majority companions in my office have windows only. I also have mac book pro having apple mail as my e-mail client. I work in a small company in which e-mail is the life blood of our company. So now what I need to do is move all my emails from apple mail to outlook that is present in windows laptop. I haven't found any answers or discussions regarding this topic on this forum site. Can any one please help me get over with this problem or atleast guide me or direct me to the forum where solution for this query is posted.

If both system are using the IMAP mail provider all you have to do is setup the connection to the mail server and all the emails and folders will be copied down to the windows computer. That is what IMAP is for. The mail stays on the server, and can be store on the local computer also, and when you connect to the server with another device, computer, phone or pad, all the mail with folders gets copied to the other device.
But I think some of your mail was gotten using POP so it is not longer on the server.
Or you have emails in local folder only and they would be on the server. But you can create folder on the server in one mail program, or on the mail web interface and then copy those emails into those folder on the server byt copying them in one of the email programs. Then when you logon with the other device all of them will be downloaded to the other device.

You will require some kind of SMTP server to be able to send mail from your app (not necessarily M$ exchange.) Just look for mail servers for the platform of your choice.

I have a simple applescript which imports emails from Apple Mail into filemaker

This works in the Old Apple Mail in 10.6 but Lion changes everything doesnt it. This is not working in the new Mail 5.1. It will import the first message in the string but not the HIGHLIGHTED message which may be in the message string of 3 or 4. I want it to set theMessage contents of the highlighted message. Someone is probably sending spam with your address forged on the To: line. Could be one of your old contacts with a Windows machine has a virus that's doing it. It's also possible your e-mail account has been hacked, though I'd think such a hacker would be a bit more purposeful.

when any user sends a message using contact us page in SharePoint online.
1. We are inserting item in Contact Us List . - This is working fine
for anonymous users also. We have used Office365 anonymous codeplex wsp and it is working fine. Anonymous user is able to insert new record in the Contact Us List.
2. Once, new record is inserted in Contact Us list, we want to fire email notifying thanks to the user on his email id as well as to our company x person for notification of new inquiry.
We tried using Workflow having impersonation step for anonymous user but it is not working for Anonymous users. Workflow is able to sent the email if someone logged into system but not working for Anonymous user although workflow is getting started
but not able to send email although used Imperonsation step.
We are stuck into implementing second step.

Did you check your user name and password in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your email account, tap SMTP, then tap the primary server name. Make sure the settings there are correct.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
