Can't send text to a certain international phone number.

I've been having trouble sending a message to an internaional number on my Iphone 4S IOS 5.0.0. I can call this person, and receive texts from this person, but i'm not able to send.
I can also send texts to other numbers from the same country.
However i was able to send texts to this person before, but now after the sending bar completes, an exclamation mark appears next to the message like this: and on my message list, it says : Message Send Failure.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem - after upgrading to ios 6.1 can't text my son all of a sudden, everyone else on my contact list is fine.  Nothing to do with phone provider as it worked fine before.  Please can anyone help?

  • Can't send text to a certain number

    Hi
I'm getting really frustrated, so I hope someone can help.
Since yesterday, I have not been able to send a text message to a certain person in my address book.  (Not sure how relevant it is, but she has an android phone).  The message states it's sending, gets right to near the end, then fails, and the red exclamation mark pops up.
I've had a look around the net and have already tried the following:
Added the country code to the number
    removed the country code
Removed the person from my contacts and re added them
turned the phone on and off countless times
    reset all settings
... even took the sim card and gave it a dust.
She can text me, but I can't reply.   It worked fine on Saturday.   I have been having this problem intermittently with others, but usually on the 2nd or 3rd attemp the text goes through ... but no joy this time, and I think it only with her (don't really want to text all my contacts to test this theory, but I'm able to send to others ... hmm they are on Iphones tho ..)
Can anyone help, or even suggest if this is an  Apple or Carrier (O2) problem?
    Thanks so much
    Lesley

  • Can't send texts to one person but can receive from them

I am having problems sending text messages to a single number, which is also on Verizon, although I can receive texts from that number just fine. When I try to send to them, or respond to the ones I get from them, it shows up as sent on my phone like everything is fine. The other person never gets the message though.
I have checked and they are not blocked. I can make and receive calls to this person and I can receive texts from them. It's just I can not send texts to them although my phone says they are sent.
So far it's only this one phone number that is affected. I can text my other contacts just fine.
I have tried taking out the battery. I tried calling *228 and my phone just says "Call not sent". I'm on a Galaxy Nexus.
Any other ideas that I can try myself or am I down to having to go stop in a store and see what they can do about it?

I tried adding a 1 before the area code but I have yet to get a response but I'm at work right now so I will call and check if the person got it when I go out for lunch. I will update on whether or not that worked.
I doubt the person blocked me for multiple reasons. 1 - I live with them, we get along great and we normally text each other daily while at work. 2 - I have had someone on my account block a friend of mine before as a joke and when that person was blocked and tried to text me it told them it couldn't send. It didn't just say sent and never make it. And as I said, this person is also on Verizon so I assume it would work the same if they blocked someone.

  • I can't send texts to some contacts in my iphone 4s. This is a recent problem, as previously all texts would send. The red exclamation mark appears and 'not 'delivered' shows on screen.

First time I've used this discussion forum, so may be posting problem twice! I can't send texts to some contacts in my iphone 4s. This is a recent problem, as previously I could send texts whenever I wanted. The exclamation mark and "not delivered' shows on screen when I ry and text certain people. I know for a fact that my number is not blocked by the receipients?

I've just realised, further to my earlier question - that the people I am trying to text do not have Iphones? Could this make a difference? (Although I have text them in the past)

  • Can't send texts to other iPhone users

Why don't my texts go through to other iPhone users? This just started a couple of days ago. iMessage is turned on, I've reset network connections, reset phone.....nothing works. It's very frustrating! I can't even text my husband who is on the same plan. My phone shows messages were delivered but he doesn't get them.

If your communications issues are limited strictly to Apple devices, ensure that they have iMessage turned ON in Settings-Messages-iMessage.  Be sure that the 'Send & Receive' option includes your current phone number for iMessage - IF that's the desired method of contact -  if they're using their AppleID for iMessaging and you're texting/iMessaging to a phone number (or vice versa), then messages won't be received because of the device settings.  You may want to check your own device as well - to be certain you have properly selected either your phone number, Apple ID or other email address for iMessaging.
Second - be sure that Cellular Data is turned ON.  Otherwise, all data is restricted unless you're connected to Wi-Fi.  This includes texts - SMS, MMS and iMessage.
Third - and this part is very important (and don't ask me why, but it works this way)..
    * Open your Text Messages
    * Check to see if the 'Undelivered' notification is present on ANY text/iMessage stored in your phone - it's a red exclamation point inside a circle.  If it's there, hold your finger on it until the screen gives you the option to 'Try Again' or 'Delete'.  DELETE all messages to all Contacts with these notification symbols.  Then try sending another text or iMessage.  For some reason, if there's ONE undelivered text / iMessage, the iPhone refuses to send/receive as it should.
The last thing I'd suggest is that you check your available storage on your device.  Apple devices are designed to allow a certain amount of space to each operating sector, as a safety feature for the hard drive.  If the specified 'allotment' for messaging is at or near it's maximum capacity, text/iMessaging may not function correctly.  It's a good idea to clean up old data on a regular basis - email, texts, phone logs, and most importantly, internet history (under Settings, select Safari, then scroll down to 'Clear History & Website Data', or maybe 'Clear Cookies & Cache').  This should not only improve the functionality of your device, but help to improve battery life as well.
    I hope this helps.

  • Can't send texts to some contacts.

I've had this problem for quite a while now. I have an iPhone 4 and it's been updated and stuff and I don't know when it started, but I can't send texts to certain friends. I can receive them, but I can't send any back. I have noticed that the ones I can't text are Samsung Galaxy users--I can text people who have iPhones old phones and stuff just fine so I don't think it's a problem with my SMS or MMS (whatever they are...). Please help

Try going to settings, general, reset, reset network settings. This will restart your phone automatically. Then see if you are able to send the SMS message. If then the same error occurs try a hard reset by holding down the home button at the same time as the sleep/wake button for a few seconds forcing the phone to restart. You will not lose any data doing these resets. Good luck

  • Can't Send Texts

I upgraded to this phone just before Christmas. It worked great until about two weeks ago - about a week after I got it. I can't send texts!  I've tried while out in a 4LTE signal, 3G signal and we have a network extender at home and it won't work on any of them. Just immediately failed. I had a Droid X before and my daughter and husband have the X still and have NO issues. I don't get it. What the heck is going on? How do I fix this??  This is a major issue and if I can't find a resolution soon I'll be forced to go back to the Droid X. I need to have texting ability. Keep in mind: I receive texts just fine. I can receive/make calls with NO issues. It's only for me sending a text and it doesn't matter to who it is, or what signal I have (even full 4LTE results in fails constantly). Any help?

I thank you great for your reply. I had decided to use the chat option when I found it through your site. I chatted with a Carlos and he was wonderful. It was something in the network, I guess, and once he reset it, it has been working perfect since. I’m very very happy with it.
    Thank you so much, again.

  • Can't send texts to one particular friend, texts work one-way, phone calls work both way

For about a bit more than a month now, one particular friend (and just one, as far as I can tell) has not been receiving my text messages. He can send me texts messages and we are able to call each other. The texts emitted from my phone however, don't seem to go through. I have no indication that the text has not been delivered (no red exclamation point next to it). This particular person is not using an iPhone for this particular phone number.
I am using an iPhone 4 (32GB) running iOS 7.1.2.
I have tried many different things.
    (1) I have checked that this friend was not in my block list. The block list is empty. But even if that person were in my block list, would I be able to receive texts and call? I have tried adding that person to the block list then sending a text. Then removing that person from the block list and texting again.
    (2) Yesterday I have restored my phone from a backup. I then erased completely the (long) text exchange between me and this friend, waited for the phone to process the deletion and tried again to send a text. I then deleted the entire contact information of this friend. And then I texted the phone number.
None of these steps have worked. I'm very puzzled.
Has anyone ever been confronted to an issue like this one?

This friend has an iPhone and I can iMessage him on his other phone numbers (he has three). For a short time the Sim card attached to this phone number was inside an iPhone and we did iMessage each other but that was almost a year ago (April 2014). That sim card is now in an ordinary phone (not a smartphone, not an iPhone). We reverted back to texting for a long while. It only began to act strangely on January of this year.
On that friend's contact card, 2 of the numbers (the ones attached to his iPhone) have blue bubbles next to them. The number I can't send texts to doesn't have that blue bubble - meaning that the number doesn't have iMessage capabilities, right?

  • I can't send texts to India, all other countries OK, not SIM fault?

My iphone 3gs was sending texts to India up until about May and then the messages were not getting through but I was still charged for them.  Vodafone sent me a new SIM but it still didn't work, so they put my SIM in another phone and the text got through to India. I can call India (same number) without a problem.  I can also send texts to Male in th Maldives just it seems not to India (three separate contacts).  Can anyone help please?

I've just realised, further to my earlier question - that the people I am trying to text do not have Iphones? Could this make a difference? (Although I have text them in the past)
