Can't set multiple days on ical

Does anyone know how I can set my ical on imac to give me option to select more than one day for an event.  I will be on vacation for a week and I want to save it as such but it only allows me to select one day at a time.  Can anyone help?

hureir,
Make sure to click on the "all-day" check box.

  • Can't enter multiple alerts in iCal

I can no longer program multiple alerts. After entering the first one, no popup appears to enable setting a second. This feature worked a week ago. Any ideas?
    Re desktop version 5.0.2 (1571)

    Greetings,
What changed in the last week?  Did you add a new calendar server (iCloud / Google / Yahoo etc.) or make other changes to the computer?
    Try:
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats > Region. Region should be set to the country of your choice. Do not have it set to "Custom" as this can have unexpected results in the iCal window.
If that doesn't resolve the issue:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard.  You will see "Library" in the menu.
    4. Launch iCal and test.
    If the issue persists:
    1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    3. Launch iCal and test.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can I set multiple iCal alarms to play iTunes 4 times a day?

I would like it to play an iTune at 4 different times during the day (upon my AM Kdg class' arrival/cleanup time and again upon the PM Kdg class' arrival/cleanup time, for instance).
Is this possible or am I stuck with only 1 alarm capability?
(I don't want to buy a cd alarm clock - that's just another thing to plug into the wall. I want my iMac to work FOR ME!)

    Hi,
I've been browsing the discussion forum and you seem quite knowledgeable.
Regarding the question about triggering event alarms several times a day
do you know if there's any way to modify the "repeat" menu to repeat tasks hourly (rather than typing in a specific time). I have a bunch of scripts I'd like to execute every hour, four hours a day, for a month. I'm using ical to control a sound installation in an art show.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Can I set multiple events at the same time to repeat on iCal?

I know I can do this by manually selecting each one of them and setting it to repeat.
But it's a pain and it doesn't make sense not to be able to edit more than one event at the same time.
When I want to set up my weekly schedule I do it for one week and I want to be able to select all the events in that week and set all of them to repeat weekly at once.

There are editors that bring up the songs one at a time, so you can edit them in a row.  Winamp works that way.  iTunes does not.

  • Can't set Multiple Pages scan by default

I'm trying to set the default  scan  mode for Flatbed scanning to Multiple pages by default.
In the one-time settings screen, I can do this by selecting Scan Resolution, then Multiple pages, but this doesn't stick and I have to do it every single time I want to perform a double-sided scan.
Is there any way to get this to happen? If I don't want multiple pages I just press the Done button instead of Ok, and all is good, so I'd rather have this be the default on this particular printer.

  • How can I set multiple videos to "TV Show"?

I'm importing an entire season and they all default to "Movie". So, I know that I can set the video type to "TV Show", but if I select more than one video, there is no "Video" tab. Does anyone know how to set the types of multiple videos at once?

This is a good question and I haven't found a method yet either. This seems to be an oversight on Apple's part.

  • Can't set multiple audiofiles

Each time I connect my nano to the computer, the last position where I listened to a track is deleted. Now, in iTunes you can set a single track to remember last played position. But audiobooks got maybe 17 CD:s and each CD has roughly 15 tracks so what I must do is to mark one track, make setting "remember playing position", goto next track and repeat the setting. Apple should make it possible to mark all track and do a multiple setting.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

You cannot make this change to mulitple files at one time.
The script should put a check in the box.
What box??? I don't get this option.
There's only "Information on multiple tracks".
Of course you don't because it is not available when selecting mulitple items. That's what I wrote.
Select 15 files and run the script.
Open the files individually and the box will (should) be checked.
In iTunes library the single file selection comes up greyed out,but the same file in my nano connected to iTunes is n not.
You don't need the iPod for now. Disconnect the it and set it aside.
Select one podcast you are writing about.
    Right click and Get Info.
    Click on the Options tab.
Is there a box labeled, "Remember playback position"?
Can you check the box or is it greyed out?

  • How can I share multiple calendars in iCal with several different people?

I need to share multiple calendars created in iCal with all our staff. Do I enter their individual email addresses separated by a semi-colon or a "plus" sign or how. I tried entering all the email addresses with the semi-colon and when I go back to look at sharing, it just shows one email address.

I am assuming that you are referring to a responsive layout that has divisions that reposition themselves according to the width of the client browser window.
Rather than go into a teaching mode on this forum, let me point you to a nifty free Dreamweaver extension that will help you to achieve this. Have a look here http://www.dmxzone.com/go/21759/dmxzone-bootstrap?utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=link&utm_cont ent=DMXzone+Bootstrap+Released…

  • Multiple days in iCal

    Hello all
I am unsure if this if the correct forum to place this so apologies if so.
I am new to Macs and the program iCal. I am wanting to put in an event that occurs every Tuesday and Thursday and 6:00pm till December but I am unsure how to do so. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks

    Greetings,
In the help menu of iCal type in "recur", this should give you some good information on setting up recurring events.
    For the parameters you specified:
    1. Create the event
    2. Set the start time for 6 PM
    3. Click on "repeat" > Custom > Frequency > Weekly -- click on Tuesday and Thursday
    4. Click on "end" > on date > 12-31-2011
The final event window should look something like this:
    Hope that helps.

  • Can i set multiple users for 1 ipad

I got my wife an Ipad. I want to know if I can set 2 users on it?

No. iOS is not a multi-user operating system. You can use
web-based email to keep your accounts separate and private,
but you can not have different logon environments like on
    a desktop or laptop computer.

  • Can you have multiple days in the notifcation center?

I want my notification center on mountain lion to show all events for the week, not just the ones tomorrow. Is that possible?

If you set for 5 recent items (say) and have 2 today, 3 tomorrow you'll have 2 days, the number of items set controls how far ahead the notifications go:
    IE:
I have mine set for 5, and here they are spanning 2 days, had I set it for more I would have more days.

  • Can't set email reminders in iCal

All of the sudden I am no longer able to set up email alarms. I am not sure what changed but I am told "You must add your own card and email address in Address Book to be able to use mail alarms." I go to the Address Book and select the card with my info and attempt to select "Make My Card" from the "Card" menu but it is greyed out. I suspect this is because my contacts are in Exchange so it doesn't want to use my ID from there.... I have to make a copy of my card to the local address book. This is kind of lame because I now have a duplicate record.

    hinder90,
Delete and recreate your "My Card." Make sure to use the "Make My Card" after creating the new card.

  • Events Spanning Multiple Days

I'm converting to iCal from another application I've used for years. Does iCal support any way to insert and display a line, banner, bar, etc. accross multiple days in the Month View so that I can display the fact that I'm on the road or on vacation, etc. for the days covered by the line, banner, bar, etc?
I would be happy to provide a picture of what the application I've been using does to support this need.

    Regal909,
Is this what you are looking for? Creating an all-day or multi-day event:You can create an event that lasts one or more complete days (for example, for a vacation), or an event that spans multiple days with different start and end times.
To create an all-day event, make sure you're in Day or Week view, then double-click in the white area at the top of the iCal window (just below the date). If you want your all-day event to last multiple days, drag a corner of the event across the days in the main calendar view (or type the end date in the Info drawer).
To create a multi-day event, make sure you're in Day or Week view, then drag from the start time to the end time of the event (you can drag across multiple days). You can also type the start and end dates and times in the event's Info drawer.
All-day events are shown across the top of the day in the main calendar view.

Tip: You can also make any event an all-day event by selecting the "all-day event" checkbox in the event's Info drawer.;~)

  • How can I set a due date for reminders?

I DO NOT want it to remind me at a certain time. I just want it to be due on a certain day. You used to be able to do this when the reminders were part of the calendar on icloud.com, but now you can only set a day AND a specific time for an alert about the reminder, which I don't need.
And as far as I can tell, you can't change it on the iPhone either. I'm guessing you can still change it on the iCal app on an actual Mac, but the whole point of icloud is that I don't have to carry my computer with me everywhere I go.

I found a round about way to get the DUE feature.
         click <<remind me>> and set a day
         select <<daily>>
         clink <<done>> and exit
go back into the same reminder and you should see a due feature.
I then removed the reminder, but kept the repeat. As I use this for a check off for my bills.
I think this only works if the date you select initially is in the future.
Let me know if that works,
