Can't set to manual mode if it's not listed in iTunes!

Hi,
I'm struggling with this infuriating "feature" where iPods can only be synced with one computer to ensure everything being up-to-date.
I just bought a new computer and want to copy new music to my iPod shuffle (2nd gen).
I don't need auto-syncing, I just want to copy music one-by-one, and I keep getting the Erase and Sync option when I connect the iPod. I've read other threads and it sounds like manual mode is what I need, but once I hit cancel at the Erase and Sync box the iPod doesn't appear in iTunes anywhere for me to change to manual mode! How can I get iTunes to recognize the iPod so I can set it to manual?
The iPod still works fine and I can see the files in My Computer, browse the iPod_Control directory, etc. So I don't think the iPod is broken in any way.
Also I tried editing the preferences in iTunes (I'm on v8 on Windows Vista) to stop auto-syncing with iPods and iPhones (that's an option somewhere in preferences) but it didn't help.
Any ideas!?

An iPod shuffle cannot contain music from more than one computer at once; the manual mode referred to is present on other iPod models, but isn't available on the iPod shuffle.

Again, iTunes only keeps one normal backup, per device. Any other backups listed are backups created from restore points. These are time/date stamped & are not overwritten.

Hi,
As you said you could do it at the report level and also at the universe level.
One more way is to create the filters in the universe levele and add them in thequery filter.
Ex: in the filter you need to write :
Column1 is null and and column 2 is not null etc.

Sorry, not sure what you mean by remotely?
You can remove apps from your phone without being connected to anything if you have the phone in hand. Were you speaking about something else?
If not, then you just press on an app on the Home screen and hold it down until they all begin to wiggle. Apps that you can remove (non-Apple apps) have a little "x" in the top left-hand corner. Tap on that, and the app will be removed.

Can we set the Manual Price Entry check in a pricelist ?

When using SBO's own import tool to update a pricelist based on another pricelist, I noticed that in those cases where the imported price happens to be the same as base price x factor, the manual price entry check box does not get set.
So I figured that I would quickly build my own pricelist update tool, using the DI_API, but I can't seem to find any documentation or examples about setting the Manual Price Entry.
Is it even possible? If so can anyone tell me where to look? If not, can someone explain to me why not?

Thanks for your reply. Let me try to explain the challenge (problems do not exist, right?).
This functionality is not actually original, "in the good old days" the Manual Price Entry check would always get set whenever you typed in a price, or updated it by import. Current behaviour appears to be since version 2007.
Now you are right, that at least at first glance it is only logical that the system behaves as it does now. However, consider our scenario:
I show all my active items (about 6000) with a base price, in an internet store for registered B2B customers. Each customer has been offered specific prices for tailored selections of products (about 100 - 200). These specific prices are not dynamic. So I create a pricelist per customer, and base it on our base pricelist. Then I import the selection into the new pricelist with the agreed prices.
Prices in the base pricelist may of course fluctuate on a daily basis, but the prices of the selected items should remain the same. Setting the Manual Price Entry check accomplishes this.
Imagine my surprise and dismay when I discovered that this method all of a sudden no longer worked, and now I am expected to manually scroll and click my way through each pricelist (about 100, and growing, which contain all 12000 items), and compare it to the relevant selection list, or alternatively I need to import my active items into each separate customer's Special Prices list, and maintain them all whenever an item is dropped or added to the active items. Not to mention that that would pretty much double the size of our database (which is already more than 60 GB).
Hence my question.

Doesn't any bring up the fact that Apple has so many customers with problems that the refuse to help unless you pay them cash? They update you and screw you over and then offer no useful troubleshooting scenarioius to help their millions of customers. It is because they want millions of our dollars. I hate Apple.

I need to restore my iPhone from a backup that is not listed in the itunes backup section. I only did it at 6 pm yesterday. Is there a way to find this backup on my computer and return it to the itunes backup list?

Normally backups are incremental, and you can only restore the latest. EXCEPT that a backup of an earlier version is archived, and the first backup of the new version is thus complete. You should be able to restore a 6.1.4 backup to iOS 7. Click the Restore Backup button. The dialog that comes up should have a dropdown where you can select a backup to restore. If the old one does not show up it cannot be restored.
However, since you appear to have a Mac, if you use Time Machine you can restore an earlier backup over the current one from your Time Machine history.
You can also back up to iCloud, even if you don't sync to it. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262
One well hidden feature (for future use) is archiving backups. If you go to iTunes Preferences/Devices, right click on the current backup and choose "Archive". The next backup you make will be a competely new one, and the old one will be preserved and can be restored at any time.

How can i activate my apple ID if country is not listed?

I have an apple ID but can't activate it because my country is not listed making it imposible for me to add my Visa card.
Are there other ways to do this because even the simple free softwares can not be installed on my iPhone.

This isn't the best place for this question, this being the QuickTime forum, but if you'll tell us what country you're in, we can perhaps provide advice. Note that if there is no iTunes Store in your country, there won't be anything you can do. Use of any country's iTunes Store from outside of that country is prohibited.

How can I set the last mod of a file

I get the last mod of a file (advanced file I/O palette -> File/Directory info)
My problem is, that I download some files from a FTP-Server and the last mod of the downloaded file is not the same as on the ftp-server (the local file has always the time stamp from the downloaded date/time).
I can list the timestamp from the files on the ftp-server, now I wanna change the last mod from my local file in the same as on the ftp-server.
How can I make this?

The "last modified" Attribute of a file can be altered programmatically using Windows API Functions.

How can I set my mac (and the screen) to not go on sleep mode ?

I just want my mac (and the screen) stay alive for a minimum of 8 to 10 hours, not going in sleep mode (or save screen). Just displaying a web page without doing anything else. In preference system, energy save is all set to «never», but after a while the screen goes to sleep ... ?

You probably have a corrupt .plist file. To fix:
1. Hold down the option key.
2. In the Go menu in the Finder, scroll down to Library
3. In Library, find Preferences
4. In Preferences, find com.apple.systempreferences.plist and drag it to the trash
5. restart
6. you will have to reenter your preferences.
