Can't set up a network folder with a Hp laserjet M400

I'm trying to set up a network folder on my TimeCapsule so the scannner sends them there right away, I can't get the scanner to find the folder i've created. it just say "can't find the remote server". Any suggestions?

Is the scanner setup on a network connection?
Are all the names in the TC SMB compatible.. ie Short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Any device not using AFP protocol will find Apple names.. long, spaces and strange characters difficult.

I am having an issue setting up different network locations with different wifi profiles on each. I want to do this to enable fast switching of wireless networks. In my house I have two wireless networks, my own personal one and one that is created by using a wifi modem supplied by my company. If I use the company wifi network then I can get into all my work applications without having to enable VPN access separately. It is also faster. However, they also block many applications including sending email from my personal email account, dropbox, etc. So throughout the day I need to switch wireless networks back and forth.
I was looking for a faster way to switch and thought I would try network locations. Was able to set up a new network location without issue. However it seems that whatever wireless preferences, changes, or wifi network order I put into my "Work" location it carries over to my other location which is the standard "Automatic".
What I would like it to have my "Work" location only to be able to connect to my work wifi and my other network (Automatic) to just connect to my home wifi only. That way I can enable faster wifi switching and can even use my launcher program (Alfred) to provide shortcuts.
Anyway to do this?

However, I tried to build the Automator application as discussed and cannot get it to work. Very much a novice at Applescript and Shell Script but have created customized Automator services before. All I get now is "Shell Script command encountered an error". No more detail. I copied and pasted the script as shown in the email thread. Is there any other line or command I need to place in front of it?

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Setting up the Network Folder through the EWS.

Hi,
I'm having trouble setting up the network folder feature in the EWS. I created a destination folder on my desktop in another folder called (desktopfiles). In the EWS - in the display name field - I called the folder (HP Files).
In the network path field I put (\\myusername\desktopfiles) . I test and get Network connection failed.
note: Under network user name I put in my wireless network and password info.
Am I filling these forms out correctly?

FYI. I keep getting network connection failed after every test.

Setting up a Network folder so that I can scan from my HP 8600 printer

The HP instructions show the likely address for a windows Network folder but say go to the operating system instructions for a Mac. There is nothing on the HP site that gives me a clue as to the folder address. I cannot find a way to get an address for a folder. I created a folder titled " HP Scan " on my Mac Desktop and turned on sharing. I have tried several possible addresses but nothing works. I am connected to a small network via a new Apple Airport Extreme. There are only three things on the network, my Macbook Air, a smart TV and the HP 8600 printer.

Can;t set up iCloud in Mail with Mavericks

I am unable to set up icloud in mail. II used migration assistant tto migrate from an older macbook pro running mavericks to a new one and for some reason there was an issue with iCloud Mail. I then tried to add the account and despite no error messages, it fails to display in Mail.
I am able to set up other accounts like Gmail and Exchange and they behave properly. I have the latest version of Mail v7 (updated) and have successfully set up iCloud using a test account on my mac. This means that the problem is user specific. I have tried removing mail dir in library and plists in preferences to set up mail again but with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I just got a Mac for a first time and I'm trying to configure Mail 3.5 with my gmail account and even after having followed all the steps seen on this forum, I just can't do it. The messages that come up are:
"The IMAP server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages"
AND
"The SMTP server "smtp.gmail.com" is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to send messages"
it might be very basic but I can't manage. Can anyone help??

Access network folder with username password

I have the following requirement:
i need to upload to SAP a txt file from a network folder.
I am using the method CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>file_open_dialog to get the filename.
But when calling the method it prompts for a username and password.
Is there any way i can verify the username and password from withing the code so that the user does not type it?????

Hint : In ABAP program make use of FTP to move file from network onto the SAP's application server. Now you work around this file in your program. Whether this is in forground or background, it will still work. User will never know of this transfer.

Can't Set Up a Network

I have a house with three computers, (iMac, MBP, MB) and I can't seem to set up a network. The computers can't seem to ever be recognized be the other, and when they are, I can't log into that computer with any password and name combo. Any thoughts on what would be going on?

Here's how:
Go to System Preferences>Sharing>Screen Sharing>Computer Settings
Have both check boxes checked, and set a password.
Try to share that screen. This setting must be active for both (or all three) computers.

Typically to access LAN devices directly on a remote network you would VPN into the remote network. Either using Port Forwarding and a VPN Server or using a VPN feature built into the router.
This is assuming you don't plan to use something like Logmein or Gotomypc.

Share Network Folder with R-W

Hello All,
I have a LAP, that I run Windows 2008 R2 Server as a DC.
I have A Folder name "Admin" located on that DC.
I shared this folder to specific people with just "Read and Write"
and they can't delete.
I notice that, all files text, *.dwg etc... they can open,edit and Save..
The problem is only files Words, Excel, PowerPoints that not allow them to save.. it's allow only Save as..
Can you help me to fix error with files Word, Excel that not allow them to "SAVE"?

Hi,
When you close the document, the temp files associated with this document are not deleted if you only have Read and Write permissions. The Delete permission is needed for users to saving Office files.
