Can't set up calendars in yosemite

Strange problem. I've got a number of iCloud calendars set up, which have been syncing seamlessly amongst my devices. Since upgrading my main iMac to Yosemite, I can't access iCloud calendars. In iCloud preferences, I check the calendars box. The wheel spins and calendars is "setting up", but then the wheel stops spinning and the check box unchecks itself. My calendar is empty on that Mac. If I try to access the account via the preferences within Calendars, it states that it can't activate the iCloud account....the account that is providing the calendars to all my other devices. As noted, I've got the calendars on my phone and iPads, so the data is out there....somewhere. e-mail is working, photos are syncing....everything else in my iCloud account seems to be fine. I just can't access Calendars on one Mac.
I've signed in and out of the iCloud account. I've trashed the calendar libraries. No go. Any thoughts?

Hi Jack,
Liam is correct. The Free sites you get with CC do not include the email feature. However, if you want to use our email service, you can upgrade your site plan. Please refer to the following link http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3161#comment-10405
You need at least webbasics+ plan to use the email feature. For more info on BC plans and price, Please refer to the following link http://businesscatalyst.com/pricing/monthly

How can i set my calendar start from Monday NOT Sunday like it is now?

    Read this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11501621#11501621
For example, if you set the Regional format to United Kingdom, the days will be re-ordered but it will have other effects as well which you probably don't want.

  • Can I set up Mac OS Yosemite or Lightroom so when a card is detected Lightroom opens?

In prior versions of the Mac OS, I have had trouble finding out how to set it up so that when a camera card is detected, Lightroom opens up.  So I had to turn on LR and then put the card in the reader.
I have no loaded iPhoto, but when I plug in a card and LR is not on, Image Capture automatically opens up.  I cannot find any place for IC preferences that allows me to turn off its automatically opening up when a card is inserted.  When I click on "services/service preferences" in IC, it opens to Mac system preferences/keyboard/shortcuts/ which shows "pictures" shortcuts.  Unchecking some or all such shortcuts does nothing. And Image Capture help is almost devoid of content.
In LR CC, I find no place under preferences to make LR the default app to open when a card is detected.  And "services/services preferences" in LR leads to the same shortcuts mentioned above.
    What am I missing?

This time I lucked on the right Apple discussion and the answer at:
Disable Image Capture app | Apple Support Communities
Apparently, the first time a new camera or card is inserted, Image Capture will open.  You can then use this obscure way to change the Mac OS instructions so that for that camera or card, Lightroom will open instead.  I just tried - and it worked.
    Thanks DdeGannes for your efforts.

  • Can't set Desktop picture in Yosemite

Since I started using the Yosemite OS, I cant save a particular photo as Desktop Picture. It always reverts back to a mountion scene that is the OS default, I guess.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Never mind, I fixed the problem. I was reseting the Help Viewer and had to restart my computer. I was able to change the desktop pic after that.

  • How can you set a calendar date to repeat every 4 weeks on the ipad

    Apart from using a mac...

In iOs, the options are limited and do not include every 4 weeks. You can't, other thatn creating multiple entries (say two that each repeat every two weeks).

  • How can I set a calendar event to repeat every 2nd and 4th Wednesday?

I know it's possible to create a custom repeat for every 2 weeks, but that is not what I need, as that will change to the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at times.

    Fyomax,
    Create two individual "Custom..." events...
One which repeats every "second" Wednesday...
...and one which repeats every "fourth" Wednesday.

  • Can I set calender invite to set at the same time, even when changing time zone. for example I am in the UK have set a meeting for 10am in NYC for weds, but when getting to NYC it is still set at 10am and doen't adjust to time zone?

Can I set my Calendar invites on a IOS 7 device to set at the same time, even when changing time zones. For example I am in the UK and need to set a meeting for 10am NYC time on Wednesday, but when I reach NYC I don't want the time zones to adjust which will then adjust my meeting I set in the UK to NYC time.

  • Calendar in Yosemite does not comply to Sidebar icon size setting?

The icon size and the font size in the sidebar of System apps can be set in
System Prefs => General => Sidebar icon size
The Finder of OS X 10.10 does react to this setting, Mail.app does and in Mavericks also Calendar.app did.
On my MBP running Yosemite, Calendar v8.0 always shows quite large icons and a large font in the sidebar.
Is this a problem of my installation, or is it "normal"?
There are other problems of the Calendar sidebar, for example I am unable to enlarge the sidebar to show longer names of individual calendars.

If you want the calendar entries that you create on the phone to sync with the gmail, you need to create the entry in the gmail calendar on the phone.  If you create it in the phone calendar, it is only on the phone.
Usually at the very top of the new event entry you have a choice of which calendar to create this event in.  Either Phone, gmail or any other option you have synced to your phone.  To get it to sync to the gmail calendar you need to select the gmail calender.

  • I can't set up iCloud drive on my iMac after upgrading to Yosemite

I can't set up iCloud drive on my iMac after upgrading to Yosemite - iPhone and iPad are updated but both say my iMac isn't (even though it is running Yosemite).
My iMac is OS X Yosemite 10.10 (14A389), memory is 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and storage capacity is 273.64 free of 999.35 GB.
When i go to System Preferences and click on iCloud. The iCloud Drive section is greyed out and says setting up and a spinning pin wheel. It stays like this the whole time. I have tried restarting the computer. i amanita sure what else to do to make it work. Any suggestion would be great.

I found another way to correct this...
    1)  Select Message, then go to Preferences,
    2)  a window will appear with 3 options, General, Accounts, Audio Video, don't be surprised when you see a video of yourself, your camera just turned on.
    3) Select Accounts (you may have several here)
    4) Select the account that has "iMessage" under the account name.  This may likely be your Apple ID  ****@me.com
    5) Look at what is checked under the "You can be reached for messages at:"
    6) Select the one account (or more if you like) and deselect the others
    7) Close the window and the problem goes away.
I'm not longer getting my sons iMessages.

  • When I try to create a calendar announcement in my iCloud calendar thru my PC / Outlook, it says 'the set of folders could not be opened. The information store could not be opened'. Can anyone help?  This means I cannot set any calendar events thru my PC.

I cannot set any calendar events for my shared calendar.  Can ayone help?

If you upgraded to Windows 8 you may need to update the iCloud control panel for Windows to version 2.1 (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4463).

  • Can you set different colours for invitees in calendar?

In calendar on the iphone/ipad can you set any events that you accept from invitees to a different colour so that you can instantly distinguish them from your own events?
    Cheers

You could choose None in Preferences > General > New Mail Sound and set up a rule for each account in Preferences > Rules as follows:
If [any/all] of the following conditions are met:
    [Account] [AccountName]
    Perform the following actions:
    [Play Sound] [Sound]
Problem is, that would cause the sound to be played for junk mail as well — probably not what you want.

They really pushed that it would all work great! Has anyone had the same struggle? Are there any step-by-step instructions to get linked up?
Call Verizon's wireless tech support & explain your problem to them.  They will provide "step-by-step" instructions over the phone.
    Take notes too!
TIP:  If you do call & don't want to go through all those darn promps, when you initially call, just don't say anything.  The automatic voice will then say,  "will connect you to a service rep."

iCloud: I can't set a check mark at calendar, contacts and mail. Why?

I'm afraid so. The iCloud control panel is only compatible with Outlook 2007 or later.
    iCloud system requirements:

However, you should still be able to add your iCloud mail account manually in Outlook using the server information.

  • Can I set up family sharing for the calendar without paying for everyone's purchases?

I would like to set up family sharing so we can share a calendar, see each other's location, etc. but I don't want to pay for everyone's purchases.  Can we set up family sharing without that feature?

When you added the card, did it take a number of goes to get it accepted ? Each time that you add or change your credit card details on your account a small temporary store holding charge (i.e. $1) may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - your card issuer should remove it from your card within a few days or so.
