Can't set up free account to use "find my iPhone" app
Hi,
Just did the update to 4.2 and followed the instructions in setting up the mobile me account (free version) to be able to use the new feature of "find my iphone" app but it won't let me use my apple ID, it keeps saying use another ID which I don't have? My Apple ID has already been verified so i don't understand the problem. Please advise. Thanks.
On which device? the iPhone or the MacBook Pro that got stolen?

My iphone was stolen, I used find my iphone app, and found that it was offline, however when tried locking mode option, I pressed remove device by mistake. Is there any way I can restore the iphone to my icloud/ apple Id again? No manual backup on laptop

so frustrated.Well its defintiely nothing that Apple can activate to fix this. They would be able to troubleshoot with you though. This may be able to be resolved if its something software related.

Jez lost my i5S which is TouchID and password protected. Tried using Find My Iphone app but device is offline. Can the person who picked it up find a way to unlock it?
thx for replyg Chris. Do u mean even if the "thief" tries to send it in to an Apple store to "restore as new", it cant be done and the device is rendered useless to the "thief"?

I have remote locked my mac using find my iPhone app via my iPad - I am unable to enter the unlock code as the mac keyboard won't pair with the mac - I guess that will teach me for playing...any ideas?

My wonderful daughter gave me the solution to my problem. Hopefully it will work for you as well - a Hard Restart....To do this you will need to hold down the screen lock button and the home key together until your iPad shuts off. Once your iPad has shut off, simply restart it. Once the iPad was turned back on, my street views returned for all of my maps :-)
