Can't setup hotmail to work with the default mail app
just got a G2 to replace an old droid phone and I cannot get Hotmail to work. It complains about invalid login information, even though the user name and pswd are correct. has anyone gotten this to work? I don't want to use the Hotmail app as I have multiple email accounts that work just fine and want a single app to read them all. never had any problems with this on several prior phones.

I have purchased a Epson Workforce 435, can't AirPrint, will this work with the first gen iPad?
Also i forgot to add after a night of searching how to turn the Epson Workforce 435 printer into Airprint friendly and not iPrint (which are 2 completely different things) i donwloaded a program called (AirPrint Activator) from HandyPrint. The link is below to download the software. Once i installed the application i set my printer to be shared over my Home Network (Wi-Fi Network). Once you have done that, open the AirPrint Activator application you have just downloaded, swtich it ON from OFF mode, and then you should easily see your printer name in my case EPSON Workforce 435 and then just close the application. Then go to your IOS Device like your iphone/ipad/ipod touch select a picture that you want to test print or even an attached PDF from your email, and select Print in the share button. You will then be prompted to select your printer. Your printer you automatically be recongised then just select print. And now you have a complete AirPrint ready printer with a Printer that doesnt even support the function. Im sure you can do this to all Wireless Printers, even if they came out before Apple AirPrint service launch.

Is anybody having problems with the courier mail app, the page shuts down during reading a page
We are new users of the iPad and are getting annoyed with the courier mail app , whilst reading the paper the page just shuts down and requires restarting ang reopen isn't it

Can you setup handoff to work with two mac computers on the same network?
I am attempting to setup handoff to work with two computers on the same network. I cannot seem to get it to work. Should I be able to?

Note in particular the Mac models supported. The other thing that occurs to me is that in addition to being on the same network they would have to be within Bluetooth range of each other. -
How do I creat a journal to share using my mac air? I can see how to do it with my iPad or iPhone 4s with the new iphoto app for them. I guess "journals" replace Galleries in the Cloud. I do not see the same functionality of the upgraded iPhoto app on my Mac air, iMac ormac mini.

Has anyone had issues with the Yahoo Mail app?
A couple of months ago, I noticed my battery draining quickly while I was at work (data, not wifi) and not long after that I received a notice that I had used 75% of my data in less than 2 weeks! My daughter and I share 10GB data and we rarely use more than 4GB total.
Called tech support, realized it was YAHOO MAIL draining my juice and data, Support suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the app thinking maybe there was a glitch in updates causing it to constantly sync everything,. I uninstalled the app, waited until my billing cycle had ended and reinstalled it.

We definitely want you to be worry free when it comes to your data usage. The great thing is that we have narrowed it down to the Yahoo Mail application. Your device comes with a native email application. I would recommend removing the Yahoo Mail app and making use of the native email app to pull your emails. I would like to be able to work the e-mails on my IMAC (Lion 10.7.3) from my Mac Pro Power PC5 (running Leopard 10.5.8). I want to be able to see all the folders and have actions show up on the other computer. In other words, if I delete the e-mail I want it to disappear in real time from the other computer. The same would be for moving messages in and out of different folders. Can this be done without setting a server? If not, then what server version could I install on the MacPro that would let me do this?

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:

I'm moderately competent, but can't get exchange to work with the 2 upgrade
My original iPod touch synced perfectly with my Outlook 2003 at work, both contacts and calendar until I updated to 2.0 to enable downloading applications. Now I get the "OutlookSyncClient.exe has encountered an error and must close." Error. I have tried all fixes and will have to move on, unfortunately, unless there’s a fix out there.
This is a corporate email/calendar and I can’t change every entry. It also involves Microsoft exchange, so I’m not sure how the .pst file is involved. Nevertheless. I have tried all the fixes that I can and nothing works. This device has been worthless for the last six months. Clearly something is wrong. I have tried many different computers networked to my account to try and diagnose this. Nothing works.

Have you tried uninstalling the following Apple Applications in the following order? After you have done that check out the following directory below.
1. Uninstall the following Apple Software in the following order to help reduce reboots
-Apple Mobile Device Support
-Apple Software Update
-Bonjour
-Windows iPod Updater (Name might be different but look for anything with the word iPod)
-MobileME Control Panel
-Quicktime
-iTunes
*Now reboot the computer
*Once PC is back up and running, then go ahead and go to C:/Program Files/Common Files
In this folder if you see an Apple folder. Delete this folder. Reboot one last time. Then download and install latest iTunes

How can I get Recipefox to work with the latest version (16) of Firefox?
Recipefox worked on previous versions of Firefox. I could use the Grab It feature on many sites & easily retrieve recipes. Now, with the latest version of Firefox, it does not work on any of the recipe websites. Is there a more recent version of Recipefox that works with Firefox version 16, I am using 0.68. Does Recipefox get updated with newer versions of Firefox.

How can I get Live TV working on the new Android app
I have FIOS for internet and TV but do not use the Verizon router for WIFI (it is too slow and does not cover enough of my house). I just downloaded the new Android version of the My FIOS app with Live TV, but it will not let me view TV and tells me that I have to be connected to the FIOS router. The router I use for WIFI is connected to the FIOS router via ethernet. The app has asked for and received my Verizon credentials. So why won;t the app let me watch Live TV?
I have the same setup and the same issue.
Looks to me like the app isn't smart enough to make the double hop to the VZ router.
I changed my connection to connect directly to the VZ router and at least it now attempts to connect but still cannot get it to work - probably the now the signal is so bad that it never makes a connection. -
Which version of OC4J works with the FBS demo app ?
I've installed the latest, and it seems to have many discrepancies with the build.xml that comes with FBS.
For example:

There is no /jdk subdirectory.

Also, would you know if the FBS application is tied to a certain Java runtime distribution version ?The "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/sothink-web-video-downloader/ Sothink Web Video Downloader]" extension author has not updated the extension since September and has a maxVersion set as15.* in the install.rdf. You could change it and force the install but it will not guarantee to just work properly and it looks like it has issues based on the comments.

Making documents saved with pages 07 work with the new pages app
I have pages 07 that I have used for years on my iMac. I recently got a MacBook Air, and had to put on the new pages app. Now the new pages won't open my documents from pages 07. I am told that I need pages 09. Where do I get Pages 09?
There was no Pages 07 so you have either Pages '06, '08 or '09.
You can still buy iWork '09 from Amazon, quite cheaply:

but if you do have Pages '06 that will not be a solution. Instead export your Pages '06 document to Word .doc then open that in the later Pages.

Can I set Google Maps to be the default map app?
OK, I've had enough. I thought I could live with the quirks of Apple Maps, but the other day, I was trying to get directions from Reagan airport to my hotel in DC. Although the app correcty located me at the airport, it insisted on starting the directions from *a golf course on the other side of the Potomac*. Seriously? This wasn't a tiny mistake. It couldn't figure out a major airport in a major US city. That was the last straw.
I downloaded the Google Map app, and it was wonderful. Not only did it (of course) give me the correct directions, but it even talked to me (I have an iPhone 4, which Apple has deemed unworthy of turn by turn directions).
Is there a way to make Google Maps my default Map app? so that when the OS recognizes something as an address it opens that instead of Apple Maps?What on earth is wrong with Apple?? The ENTIRE REASON I MADE MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE WAS GOOGLE MAPS. The arrogance of they know better than the folks using their product is astonishing. I don't care what the articles say, this map debacle is killing potential iPhone sales. If they will not support MY NEEDS, I'll abandon my investment in applications as the important ones use Google maps and will be worthless anyhow. Already applications I want demand iOS 6 which I refuse to download. This phone will become an iPod and I will never again trust apple with my future. This is not the first time apple has decided for me. It's going to be the last decision you make for me. Trust.
