Can't setup our iPad as new device - resets after Find my iPad
I decided to wipe our iPad mini so I can set it up with my 4yr son's apple id from scratch. I have already set him up with apple id, apple email and he is part of my family sharing.
So, when I wiped it out I proceeded with setup - all normal dialogs - putting password for our wifi, choosing to set up as new iPad, logging in with his apple ID, choosing Use iCloud and then i get infamous find my iPad with two options. Each one I press iPad resets and Im back al HOLA dialog.
I am not sure why is this happening ? If I choose my own or my wife's AID there are no problems, I don't even get asked about FIndMyiPad - goes straight into desktop.
I did turn off Find my iPad before I wiped it out, and I also deleted it from my devices at iCloud.com.
I imagine kids are not allowed to set up their devices when brand new ?
It has to be parent, and after the fact you delete traces of your own apple ID in settings and replace it with kid's ?
Same here.
It's crazy that outcome if just a reset of the device, no explanation, or anything else...you click on find my ipad and black screen.
I did what I wanted at the end...but not quite...since I had to put my apple ID to begin with, I keep getting emails on my own apple ID about everything on this device. Same for every time I use their Apple ID to log in into ICloud - I would get email about it.
I believe I will block those emails.
I really wanted to have them activate/manage their devices so I don't get these emails or notification. The only notification I wanted is when I need to approve their spending, but I took that off in my settings since it's pain in the b*** due to me needing to put their password for apple ID in iTunes store, and then put my aple id password on my iMac. So too complicated and too much of work for my taste.
This is one of those rare missteps (for my taste) that apple does...making something counter intuitive and overly complicated for what it needs to do.

Can I set up my new iPad as new device with my original Apple id then transfer which apps etc I want later from my cloud, thank you
You can download the apps again by opening App Store app on the iPad and tap Purchased at the bottom. That will display all apps that you have previously purchased on that Apple ID and you can download any of them by using the icon to the right of each (icon of a cloud with a down arrow).

Why can't I update or load new apps on my iPhone and iPad. It does not ask me for my password. I tried to sync from my laptop now I am unable to connect to any sites from internet explorer. When I try to update or load any app it tells me it is corrupt
You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.

How can i update my old 2006 iMac Intel core 2 duo running 10.6.8 to OSX Lion so that I can sync using iCloud with my newer devices? Mountain Lion is not an option for my older model and Lion is no longer available at App store.
Call Apple's online store's telesales agents: 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775. For Lion you'll get a redemptions code via e-mail and need to DL from the Mac Apple Store (requires SL 10.6.6+).

How can I transfer my voicemails onto new device ?
How can I transfer my voicemails onto new device ? Is it possible?
Yes, you would need to restore new one from backup of the old one.

Manage Storage.
1. What am I deleting specifically when this message appears "Are you sure you want to turn off CNN backups and delete the backup data from the cloud?
2. If I have the app turned off for storage in iCloud does this mean the app can not be downloaded to a new device?
3. If I have the app turned off for storage in iCloud and I delete the app off my phone can I download the app again or do I have to repurchase the app?Every app that you buy or get for free in appstore/itunes belongs to you and can be downloaded on up to 10 devices or saved on up to 5 computers. Instructions to download apps to new devices here
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Here comes a "BUT" - imagine your kid playing game and getting to level 51 and have to start over from level one. Or imagine that history that you have in your CNN app. That is what icloud backup contains. My 500 scifi books are in one of the app backups and I REALLY do not want to lose it. That is what you would turn off. -
TS4006 Can someone please tell me how I use icloud to find my ipad
Can someone please tell me how to use iCloud to find my iPad and lock it out as well?

Simple I was led to believe I could store stuff in iCloud without the need for a Mac thereby making space on my laptop. You live and learn.
You can, iPhones/iPads and Macs work, as do PC's once there is an open account.
This is typical Apple to be honest. The only reason I use iTunes is for my iPod. Perhaps I need to find another mp3 player.
You do not need iCloud for iTunes, I am sorry that you misunderstand but iCloud and iTunes do not require each other.
I'm certainly not paying the inflated prices that Apple charge for their laptops that are quite frankly no better than my Dell.
I've had Dells, they are worth what you pay, no more. -
My Ipad was lost and I used Find my Ipad Application App; I found it But a masaage appears "Looking my Ipad Applicattion Alert" and it is blocked.
How can I un block my Ipad? Two things, either enter your password or connect it to the computer you sync too. Or return it to the rightfull owner and let them do it.

I have a new ipad and want to restore my old..it asks for my ipad password.
How do I find the ipad password? What password are you refering to? A passcode lock on the ipad itself or the password for your apple id?
If its a pascode lock, then:
If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
iOS- Understanding passcodes
If its your apple id, then:

Can I restore from backup to new device without SIM
I have a 4s and should be receiving my new iPhone 6 tomorrow. I plan to hand down my 4s to my son who currently has a 3gs.
Can I backup my 4s, then setup my new iPhone 6 by using that 4s backup BEFORE I call in to AT&T and have them transfer my line over to the new phone?
Also, if after I do that, I reset my 4s (to factory settings), then can I set it up with iTunes to restore from my son's 3gs backup, then call AT&T to migrate his number over to the 4s?
I know this sounds confusing, it does to me. Basically what I'm asking is do I need to first put in the new SIM and tell AT&T, THEN restore from the backup, or can I do all that first, then set it up with AT&T.
Thanks! You are working with 3 different SIM card sizes. All three take a different size SIM. Once you stop service on your 4S, that SIM is disabled. You would need a new SIM for the 4S. While you could backup and the 3GS and restore that to the 4S, and you could activate it with the disabled SIM, you couldn't transfer his service to that SIM, he would need a new one from AT&T. You can backup the 4s and restore the 6 to that one. The time you call is not important, except that you may not be able to complete the activation of the new device after restoring the backup until you call and activate the SIM that came in the iPhone 6. Check with AT&T and they can help. If you have a corporate store in your area, you will be able to get all of that done in-house.

Can SCCM 2012 alert me when new devices are found on the network?
I have a single SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 server running on Windows Server 2012. I use it primarily for Endpoint Protection and Windows Updates.
I have 18 locations in my organization. I am having a problem with a particular remote site buying their own IT equipment (computers, switches, access points, etc.). I was wondering if it is possible for my SCCM server to e-mail (alert) me whenever
it detects a new device on the network? Or should I be looking at
SCOM for something like this? If SCCM will not do this, can anyone suggest some freeware that might do what I am looking for?
Thanks! The answer to that would be ... it depends.
If the computers are domain joined and your AD discovery method is enabled they will end up in the ConfigMgr database. From that point onward you could create a custom reports that lists these systems. You can subscribe to the report to get it through email.
For network devices you could also do something similar but initially you would have to enable network discovery in ConfigMgr.
Highly impractical IMO. I seriously doubt this could ever work in a production environment of any real size.
In addition.... Network discovery in CM is nasty!
